Val,
Do you remember the name of the drugs they gave you?

I know we all feel guilty for trusting modern medicine to help us, and at the same time feel scared and want their help when something goes wrong.

I know I tend to dwell on the past, but feeling I could have stopped it, helpless that I didn't know enough then to say anything or question anything.

I think you and nineclouds and myself are all on the right track now.

I think none of us should feel guilty about it now. Knowing what we can do to solve the problems and making others more aware is what is going to help most.

I know your children are probably finished or close to finished with vaccinations, but if you are interested yet again in a site to look over:

www.909shot.com

this is the National Vaccination Information Center based in Virginia. Its a not for profit organization, independently researched and funded by donations, started by parents whose children were affected by vaccinations.

WNCGirl,

No I do not remember the name of medication but I think it was Magnesium.

Have you done any research on Anti-histamine? I give my son anti-histamine quite regulary to help him with his itching. I was wondering if it has some side-effects I should be aware of.

Hi,
Magnesium is a mineral, you shouldn't worry about magnesium.

More common side effects anti-histimines:
drowsiness, headaches, difficulty passing urine, dry mouth, blurred vision, digestive tract problems (nausea, constipation, diarrhea).

More rare side effects:
palpitations and abnormal heart rhythms, high blood pressure, allergic reactions (such as swelling, rash, and breathing difficulties), dizziness, confusion, depression, disturbed sleep, tremor, convulsions, blood and liver disorders, and over-excitement in children. Children and older people are more likely to experience Side effects.

Natural anti-histimines:

High vitamin C/ Bioflavonoids
(citrus fruits, tomatoes, potatoes, greens, broccoli)

Quercitin supplement

Vitamin E, Selenium also help

Take Care,
WNCGirl

I found this article today and thought of sharing it with you guys.

Regarding anti-histamine, I used to be very regular with my son earlier. But I noticed that it made him cough after a couple of nights.....I stopped and tried again after a week or so and the symptoms repeated. same dry cough with a little wheezing. I dont know if its coz my son is asthmatic as well or not. Another point to be noted is that it helps them temporarily, so we are basically giving medications which does not really "cure" any symptom. But i can understand why you give it. believe me, the bliss of having my son sleep without itching and tossing is priceless, and anti-histamines do bring in that relief, even if its only for a night.

I found this discussion via google search and completely related to it because my son suffered from Eczema too while he was young. Vaccinations could cause it..took me by shock. But he is severely allergic to milk since birth. I breastfed him till 19months although I didn't take myself off of diary 'coz I never could convince myself about it. He is a little over 2 now and completely on rice milk. Since I stopped breastfeeding him, his eczema has improved drastically. But sadly he is still severely allergic to diary and that just haunts me day and night. Anyway, I heard therre is a treatment for milk allergy in homeopathy. nineclounds can you please send me the homeopath you saw for your child in Plano. Can you PLEASE email it to me. I just saw one today and I wonder if he's the same.
Also, I see the last post on this was a month ago. Hope your son is doing better now. I look forward for a reply.

I noticed that many remedies have been suggested for Eczema but Arnica 6c has not been mentioned by anyone.

I have had some remarkable success with this remedy which I believe I was the first to use for this ailment in Homeopathy as it is not listed in any of the Repertories.

I recommend its use in a Liquid Dose which is made up by dropping 3 pellets Arnica 6c into a bottle of spring water and after shaking it hard (succussion) a teaspoonful is sipped twice daily.

The Eczema usually dries up in a week and the itchiness usually ceases in about 3 days.

I have many patients who were chronic cases who do not use the remedy any more after they were cured within a few weeks of treatment.

Please report response if anyone uses this therapy.

Sorry nineclouds and val. I have updated my profile to show my email address. Can you please send it? nineclouds I am sorry that you are not seeing improvement still. Just wanted to pass along how we handled my son's eczema. Its almost gone now(99.9%), so I think you can consider some of these for your kid.
- Luke warm water baths and
drying up quickly. Wetness triggers his eczema.
- Use Cetaphil soap
- Apply cetaphil cream 2-3 times a day
- Cotton loose fitting clothes.

Also Food allergies trigger eczema so make sure you don't feed him anything he is allergic to.

Hi everyone
This is my first post on this forum. I have a strong suggestion for eczema. It is a topical homeopathic gel called Unda 270. My youngest son had severe eczema, he also had skin like sandpaper, bleeding, oozing, the areas of his skin that were the worst almost looked like third degree burns. I got the gel from my naturopath and it worked like a charm. It is sadly the only success story I have. My oldest son has asthma and I have never been able to find anything to help. I can relate to the stories of frustration and guilt because every cough and wheeze he has is like a stab to my heart and I feel like a failure as a mother for not being able to help him. He coughs constantly and I could not count the nights I have stayed up crying unable to stop his coughing. He also was treated with steriods for his asthma when he was a baby back in the days when I trusted and believed in conventional medicine. am i ever paying the price!!!!
anyway, please condsider unda 270 it definelty worked for my younger son and may have saved him from developing asthma

naturmom, I googled the ointment that you mentioned, out of curiousity.

It contains Eucerin. Doesn't that have petroleum in it?

I have been reading these post on eczema and wanted to share my daughters story and what has worked for her. After suffering from the oozing, bloody, never a moments relief eczema for 8 year she is cured. I took her off of all refined foods including salt, processed foods and fast foods. She now eats only whole unaltered organic foods. Lots of fruits and green veggies. No pork. Lots of range free, hormone free chickens and turkey and 100% grassfed beef. She was allergic to dairy products but since I started buying raw milk, cheese, butter and yogurt, she has been able to eat all of these things. Withing 3 months of making this drastic change in our diets, her eczema is gone. She does take a vitamin and a teaspoon of cod liver oil everyday. She for the first time in 8 years is clear.
