Need to PREVENT laryngitis
Dear all.I have suffered with recurrent laryngitis for the past 3 or 4 years. It is now getting to be every couple of months and is so bad I have to take time off from work, which they are not happy about.
I have never smoked. I rarely drink alcohol. I have ulcerative colitis and am on medication for this (I've been in remission for a couple of years). I have a slightly deviated nasal septum, which I'm waiting to get fixed by an operation. I'm not sure if this will help with these laryngitis episodes or not. I have had my adenoids out and grommets put in aged 8 and used to have a lot of ear infections. My tonsils were removed when I was 25 due to recurrent tonsillitis. I am now 35.
I take multi-vitamins and Vitamin C every day, eat a fairly balanced diet and do a lot of walking. I use disposable knives and forks at work so I'm not using utensils that may not have been washed well enough.
Not sure what else I can do to try to prevent these episodes and would really like to hear what I could take to try to PREVENT them from happening. I've read about Hepar Sulph and Phosphorus, but that seems to be for when you actually get laryngitis. Is there anything I could take to try to prevent it in the first place?
Thanks in advance!
