Anal Fissure Treatment
Hello, The problem started in July 2016 when I had a hard stool pass and it caused some pain and bleeding. I thought this was pilesmay be and started taking piles treatment as going to doctor was embarassing. I started with high fibre diet and preventives (put aloe vera, coconut oil etc..)and it seemed to work. Coconut Oil has been a great relief. It almost seemed the problem was going away and healing happening. I was in control for 2.5 months in September and October and Nov and managing it well but until one fine day I stopped taking the fiber and ate some pizza and unhealthy food outside which seems caused the hard stool to return with some level of constipation and it hit me again during bowel movement in morning. There was urge to go multiple times. I had long been only using water to clean after the first experience and don't use any toilet paper. The pain was excessive after BM for a whole week. I decided to go to a doctor and was referred to a rectal surgeon as my physician thought I have a Polyp. The rectal surgeon saw me and even thought I have much less pain repeating the above basic things I was doing; he saw it and immediately advised surgery. He told me 5 times in 15 minutes that only way this wil fix is by surgery but could not answer a basic question I asked how worse is it compared to what he has seen? His response was that because this is there for 4-5 months now it is chronic and your only remedy is surgery. I told him I want to try alternatives and he prescrived Nitroglycerine 0.04% which is Reactiv in USA costing $700 a tube for 30 grams. I cannot afford such expensive treatment and neither am I comfortable with the thought of going through surgery so someone referred I should try homeopathic treatment. I have done some reading on the site and am answering the questoions below:1. Describe your main suffering?
Pain (now much less as I am doing things I mentioned above), Burning (mostly after bowel movement) and Itching that errupts occassionally. I have not had any bleeding after 2-3 days this situation started back in June/July.
2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
None
3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
I work in full time job and it is mentally distracting carrying aloe vera Tube and pain killers. It is also annoying with type of precautions to take when doing BM. I want to get over this so that I can focus on work.
4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?
Leave everything and just focus on this.
5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
July 2016 mid sometime. Nothing I can link with past. It was a hard and long stool that was painful to pass.
6. Which time of the day you are worst?
Right after BM
7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?
Nothing I have seen, it got agravated little as I drank coffee yesterday but it was occassional and I really am not a coffee drinker.
8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
No
9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
I am starting to take hot sitz bath and add 3-4 teaspoon of coconut oil there. It helps comfort me. I am doing this once a day although I am trying to see if I can do more.
10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

Not aware
16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?
Normal
17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?
I am taking stool softener right now with Magnesium - plus I pull my legs up on height on the toilet seat, so that it can pass comfortably. Lately after the relapse I am seeing with all these things; stool has been soft and semi solid and easy to pass but it does leave burning and slight pain which gets better in some time.

Hello, I have tried searching as I mentioned but different treatments are prescribed for different people. I was therefore trying to see if any doctor on forum can respond to me with what I should take. I am here to try Homeopathy. Can you please advise who are the doctors are on this forum who treat such situations and I am happy to refer this to them for help? Thank you!

TONY: First you need to decide which way to go.If you choose Homeo, I shall help you describe your case by making a questionnaire though it is preferable to hear from you HOW exactly you can "feel", and what you can "see" and how long the pain persists, stool appearance, odor, mucous etc

Start with nux vomica 200c..4 pills..in the evening..for three days and report after a week.
You need a series of medicines. The next one depends on your body's response to the previous medicine.
Avoid junk food totally and continue healthy lifestyle.

Thank you Simone717 for the endorsement and Thank you Dr. Murthy for your advise. I have a few questions:
1) What is the mode of attack to treat fissure in homeopathy?
2) Can instant relief be expected or it does take a few months ?
3) Has Homeopathy successfully treated anal fissures without reoccurance?
4) What other things are patients expected to do in addition to taking the homeopathic treatment.
5) I really want to get rid of this completely - is there a roadmap that I should follow to achieve that ?
Thank you again!

Dear Shyam, Thank you for your note. I just saw this. Here are the responses:
1) Anus is sore and feels as if sticks/glass is in anus. I made it worse yesterday as it was itching and I scratched it. Next day I noticed there is some blood in the underwear. There is however no blood in the stool.
It does burn for hours after the stool.
2) None of this exists. The discharge is normal and I have over last week been taking Magnesium 800 mg (2 times) and Metamucil for fibre to keep the stool soft.
3) Normal, and less dense due to above reasons in No 2
4) None
5) No relation with urine. No bleeding.
6) Pain is less when walking. Burning sensation feels better also when standing and walking.
I had this happen in July. I was not aware this was a fissure and thought it was piles. So was taking a wrong set of treatment. I however was lucky as I was eating fibre and other things. It was painful in July and August. In september and October it seems was feeling it is healing and I had a lot less inconvenience until one day I took both Pizza in lunch and dinner and by the next day morning I was painig again. I had relief with very slight invonvenience for 2-2.5 months. Now it has seems come back.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. I will look forward to your advise. I will really like to go ahead and start a treatment.
Thank you again.

Hi,
You can only follow one person.
Please take the nux and report status to then get next prescription from Mr.Murthy based on what is going on at that time. Each prescriber is going to have their own idea about how to start the case.no one can predict in advance what will be needed next and how long it will take, every person is different and could have very different remedies.

Thanks Shyam - I appreciate your note and sorry as I was not sure where to go with this forum but your response gives me a ray of hope. Here is the status today and I have not yet started any homeopathic treatment as I was exploring other avenues:
1) I started applying Nitroglycerin 0.2% which gave some relief after a doctor prescribed it.
2) The burning after bowel movement along with pain however continues to be there. This is acute initially but after I take a pain killer - like a iboprufen, it starts to reduce. It however does not go away.
3) I am also taking Magnesium, Fiber (Metamucil) and Vitamin E tablets along with taking hot sitz bath in a tub.
The questions I have are:
1) Since pain is lower, does it mean my Anal Fissure is healing?
2) I want to accelerate this as it is still not complete healing yet - will homeopathic treatment be good idea to do along with what I am already doing?
3) Where do I start the homeopathic treatment? Appreciate your suggestions.
Regards

I noticed one more thing that I thought I should bring into your attention. There is a small skin tag called senitel pile that seems to be coming out of the bowel area. The rectal doctor had told me that it is caused as a result of fissure. Thought I will mention it in case that has any impact on your treatment. Does this go away itself or needs any treatment? Thank you!

Jawaharji - I am now taking the dose for 5 days. There is some relief as the pressure is not as much. However it still at times has the broken glass feeling after BM. Although it has got better as it takes less time now to get pain free. However there is still itching and inconvenience at times. I am now taking for 5 days but will report back in 2-3 days again. Please let me know if I need to do anything else. Thank you!
