Newborn with Acid Reflux and GI Issues/Grunting/Straining for Hours
Hey! My 8 week old is suffering from acid reflux symptoms (projectile vomiting, choking, spitting up, gagging, inconsolable crying, etc) as well as GI issues. I have been dairy free for over 3 weeks and soy/nut free for only 2 days. He is also on Gerber Soothe and a 7 strain probiotic. The doctor prescribed zantac( I really didnt want to take this route but couldn't stand seeing him in pain) and it didn't work, so he recently prescribed Prilosec. After two days on Prilosec, we definitely see a difference, but I really don't want him on a prescription if there are other options.***He will sleep peacefully from around 8 PM to 1 AM and then grunts and strains and cries for hours.*** Please help! Dosage amounts would be amazing too. Thank you.

He only had diarrhea one day. He is pooping at least once a day so I don't know that he is constipated, but he strains and grunts for hours and hours and often that is NOT followed by stool. He also has lots of mucus in the stool. Thanks so much for any help you can provide! Right now I am thinknig Nat Phos and Nux Vomica???
