Right knee pain

My 15 yr old son has had unexplained right knee pain for 4 months. The pain is located above kneecap to the right (outer) side and behind the knee right side. It is painful with load and fine at rest. Have tried a lot of remedies with no success. He had surgery in that knee 18 months ago for osteochondritis Dissecans and has no problems since. He has les power in that leg and states that his knee feel weak. Please advise
