The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Trying to find a remedy.

Hi. I have chronic health problems, and a basic understanding of homeopathy(read quite a bit years ago, have lost a lot of that as memory is one of my issues). My diagnoses are severe complex sleep apnea with both central and obstructive apneas(tried surgery and CPAP and BiPAP, didn't help), asthma, fibromyalgia(though more than one doctor has said it "doesn't quite fit" but it's the best they got). numerous vision issues, GI issues, insomnia, severe anxiety/depression/OCD/codependency.

I believe chronic lyme disease may be a factor for a lot of this. I know a ton about lyme(was a caregiver for many years to someone, studied a ton) and I have a western blot than most LLMDs would consider positive(but regular docs are weird about lyme).

I've tried using the Remedy Finder and other texts/sites, and Mercurius Vivus seems right to fit almost perfectly(especially reading Kent's entry), but the more I read the more confused I am. Sweating seems to be a major part of Mercurius and although when I sweat, it's a lot and sometimes very easily, I don't just do it lying around as seems to be indicated and when I do, although I HATE the feeling, it doesn't make me feel worse as also indicated. If anything, I feel better after sweating. I also am almost exclusive better at night, not worse, which goes against Mercurius. Also not sure about dosage if I do try something.

Sex: M

Age: 42

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?

hard to pick even just a couple - vertigo, dull pain/weakness, constantly tired and hard to think from the apnea, numerous vision problems(and quite a bit of pain/burning/dryness in eyes but likely from lack of good sleep), VERY easily mentally/emotionally overwhelmed, memory troubles(especially finding words or names when talking), and anxiety/depression/ocd.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?

swollen lymph nodes, particularly around my neck, face, jaw(but not painful). One in particular is very bad, left side behind jaw. Heartburn/probably ulcer, feeling like I digest things very slowly and food just sits in my stomach forever, and related - often distended stomach after eating. Lots of weakness in my shoulders where using my arms much, especially raising above my head to do something is very exhausting and even painful. Lots of soreness and tension in jaw, metallic taste in mouth, swollen tongue almost always. Pain in my tailbone that gets VERY bad when sitting upright for very long even on a soft couch. Lots of weird stress/tension in my neck to the point where I occasionally have minor sort of... tremors there?

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

severe near constant anxiety, mood swings leaning more toward depression, OCD with the biggest focus on invasive thoughts and more obsessive thoughts than compulsion but some very minor compulsion, anger outbursts and/or extreme irritability.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?

On physically bad days, I basically feel like I have the flu but with more focus on the achey pains than fever, but still a bit of feverish feeling(without actual fever). On bad mental days(doesn't especially coincide with bad physical days, but sometimes), I am either rather severely and consistently anxious or severe depression where nothing interests me and lots of suicidal thoughts and sleep if it all possible for as much as possible(sometimes a mix).

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

Very complex question. Much of the mental stuff started as a kid. More was added after lots of betrayal and difficult social stuff. The eyes(eye muscle issues among others) since birth. All but a few minor other physical things didn't start til... late 20s or a bit later and slowly got worse.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?

When I wake up, but sometimes that's morning, sometimes it's evening, my schedule is very screwed up with my sleep issues. But definitely on waking is way worse, takes hours to get to even "normal" for me. But that could also be from the apnea and a confusing symptom of when I'm worse.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?

humidity is one of the worst. sweets give me issues but I crave them. The wrong temperature either direction. I'm constantly adjusting AC, heater, fans, to get the perfect temp. Heat bothers me more in general, but both are bad. Light exercise and deep breathing help both physical and mental. Pain and anxiety meds help.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

It's not humid this time of year, but when it is, humidity is terrible. Or being away from my "cave"(home) for very long. Too many people, difficult people, people in general. Bright lights, loud noises, too much commotion all bother me quite a bit.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?

Definitely dry. Definitely prefer cool/cold more than hot but just the slightest bit too cold is way too much and I will often feel like parts of me are frozen(even to the touch, they feel cold cold - elbows, legs, feet, sometimes other)

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

I can definitely be arrogant. Smartass. I can be extremely talkative to the point where I can tell I just "drain" or overwhelm people but I often still can't shutup. Definitely nervous, easily offended at times, suspicious. But with the right person in relaxed situations, I can be very chill and agreeable.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?

Mostly I love rain/mild storms. Loud close thunder will startle me a lot. Rarely, a quick big pressure change will me hurt a lot, but mostly I feel good and enjoy storms.

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?

Mostly I like to be left alone, but the few people I trust if they're genuinely being caring... consoling is very good.

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?

yes, all of them. I sometimes feel like I have super senses and someone scratching their nose in the other room will make me wanna scream. Lights less so, but sometimes it's very bad. Smell is less of a deal, but still sometimes sensitive.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless weeping, talking to one self etc?

Lots of nail biting and oral fixation. Some talking to myself.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?

I don't trust anyone very well. Only people in my life really are my parents and one friend. All 3 are mostly great people, but I have very large mood swings when a tiny thing goes wrong in the relationship and often feel abandoned/uncared about.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?

needles, bugs, lots of common fears. I have dreams of various bad situations happening that noone sees but me and nobody believes me when I try to warn them.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?

Meat, crunchy things, carbs, sweets, cold drinks

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?

probably less because I don't actually drink cold drinks anymore(TCM suggestion), but I would crave cold drinks constantly if I did. Otherwise, this is maybe less than normal

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?

Very excessive. Constantly hungry and will eat almost nonstop if I let myself, but then it gives me lots of GI issues if I do.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?

nothing too terrible. If I don't eat 100% perfectly(nothing but fish, steamed veggies, plain beans and rice mostly when I can do it), almost everything gives me moderate GI issues.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? For a while now, I sweat less often than normal, but I also don't hardly do anything. When I do something in heat or strenous, I sweat excessively and it just kinda starts a lot all at once. Face and trunk more, but everywhere.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?

Changes, but more often loose and... mushy?

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?

I've forced myself to sleep on the couch with tons of pillows in front of me to avoid going on my back for the apnea. On my right side, but that's probably just because of how things are set up in the room(as opposed to left).

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?

Not sure of the phrasing here. I'm hypersexual, but not active with anyone for a long while. I'd like to be, but I'm ok not having it.

20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all?

I never seem to fit into any particular group. I don't know how else to answer that.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?

I've taken tramadol and klonopin for years for anxiety and pain. Same for years. I take MSM which is one of the only things that helps with pain and inflammation. Sometimes I try other supplements with not much effect. I take licorice tablets(DGL) which do help my stomach some. A few weeks ago I took a few doses of ledum palustre 30c to see if it reacted because it's talked about a lot with lyme. Took 200c a week or so ago. Might've felt a very small aggravation from the 30c, but it might've just been a couple bad days too. No other obvious effects from either.

22. What major diseases are running in your family? the big "c" word but the forum won't allow it(I'm not asking for treatment, just answering the question), heart disease, diabetes

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance. 6'4", 220lbs(fluctuates a bit), semi-large frame, short brown hair and beard with lots of grey.

I hope this isn't considered rude or anything of the sort here. I'm new to the forum. Can I ask about your background and some of your reasoning for these remedies? Are you a homeopathic doctor?

I'm not unhappy about it, but I didn't realize I might just get a direct prescription as opposed to just ideas and discussions, so I hope you understand why I'd like to know more without just blindly trusting. :)

Hi,
Anuj is a retired Col in India military that has been giving cell salts and remedies to ppl for decades. You click on any user name and profile and past threads will show.
Most of the traffic on here is India, Pakistan, Bangladesh-culture wise
ppl use Dr as sign of respect.western world does not understand this. There is a warning that posts are not from med professionals but ppl do not see it. Anyone can join here and anyone can offer advice about anything they think is healing/not only homeopathy.
In your case I would call up Camden Whole Health in Maine and get the name of homeopaths who have treated Lyme.
Lyme is complex and can need a series of remedies. In chronic cases classical homeopathy often uses one remedy - one remedy will not work
Here for Lyme.

Hm. Thank you. I'm definitely aware how forums like this work, so no worries there. So if you've been here a while, does he give good advice? Do people have good reactions to his instructions? I'm not opposed to the idea of someone being good at this even without proper training, but it definitely turns me off not clarifying who they are, nor being willing to actually discuss why they're choosing certain remedies.

I'd still like to hopefully get some thoughts on what my constitutional remedy is. I do know that lyme is very complex and that I may need other remedies or other kinds of treatment, but a constitutional may be a good starting point. I also likely can't afford much professional treatment, so I'm hoping maybe if I can find anything that helps on my own, maybe it'll give me a leg up so I can work even a little from home(I have several things I could do on my own time if I felt better) and then maybe take treatment further as I can afford it.

So this forum layout is a bit unusual. You said I could request a homeopath in my headline. Can I just change the title or am I allowed to just repost? Is there something specific I'd include or just (looking for homeopath) or what?

Hi,

Are you still taking tramadol and klonopin?
If you are remedies are not really going to work.
You would have to start tapering off and then deal with side effects of that.
The real picture would then emerge.
Rather than constitutional think of it as chronic and acute prescribing.
The remedy close match triggers the life force to work in a pathway and
It does this Bc the body will not tolerate 2 similar diseases. The body reacts by getting rid of the highly diluted remedy and then targets the
Real cause. Whatever was suppressed by tramadol /klonopin
Is going to show up and then release. So your case has layers
And the layers would indicate the next remedy.

Hm. I've never really heard anyone else say that remedies wouldn't work at all while on other medications. I understand what you're saying about layers, but that's not the same thing at all as telling me remedies just won't work while on these. Also, when I judge my symptoms, I'm judging based on what I feel like when the meds aren't in me. They only last 4-6 hours or so and I'm not constantly medicated. But I take them because I need them. If homeopathy can alleviate even a small bit of the pain and anxiety and give me a little boost, then yeah I can probably cut down on them a lot and then go to a new remedy, repeat.

Thanks for the info. I'll look around some threads.

Dear Justaguy,
I have been following this site for sometime and I can tell you that one person I trust a lot of this forum is Anjul. It will not hurt you to try the homeopathic that he is recommending. He has obviously spent quite a bit of time considering your case and he is extremely conscientious and knowledgeable. Why don’t you try it for a few days?

Anuj,
This is not personal. And if ppl click your name and see the amount of help you have given ppl over the years it is impressive. And I appreciate your years of experience.

Sorry if things came across the wrong way!

Also not prejudiced! This forum is International. Western ppl don’t understand it’s a cultural difference and sign of respect . Over here if you start calling ppl dr, you will likely go to jail.
