Severe lower back pain

My 74 year old mother has osteoporosis. 5 months ago she moved a few heavy items and has been having severe pain ever since. She is in more pain sitting down and on getting/standing up. She isn't able to walk long before being in pain. She feels better laying down and with cold on it. She finds that heat aggravates. She also feels better in fresh air. Along with the pain, she feels fearful all the time and suffers from melancholy. She gets panicked very easily. The pain also shoots down her right leg mainly, but both her legs hurt. She says they feel like chilblains. If she goes for a longer than a block, she is in pain for days. Mornings on waking up and later evenings (before going to bed), she has the most pain. I was wondering what remedy would help ease her pain?

Ok, thank you! I will let you know how it goes. The tissue salts will arrive tomorrow, but I can start her on Rhus Tox right away.

One thing I've noticed that is a little unusual.. is her sensitivity to hot and cold. When she is having a shower she is feels like the water is burning her, even though it lukewarm, for her it feels like it is going to scald her skin. Would this be covered under Rhus Tox?
