Sleep apnea in a 17 month old
My son has been a poor sleeper since birth. We are being seen at a sleep clinic and we were told that he likely has sleep apnea and the most common cause is enlarged adenoids. He sleeps with his mouth open, he has a light snore, he wakes up about every hour. He also takes these deep breaths and then stops breathing for a few seconds. I want to avoid surgery for him. I started calc carb and have been giving it to him the past three weeks, 30C, three pellets one day then three pellets next day then 5 days off. His eczema is significantly improved, goes away completely then starts to return a little bit on his back and stomach right before he gets the next dose. Sleep however is no different. What do I do now?[Edited by Kwolfe10 on 2025-01-18 16:24:07]

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Great that Cal carb is curing eczema- It takes time to cure this you state the clinic “thinks” it is enlarged adenoids. You need to know facts.
Have a ENT check the child out.

Adenoids if there are any are generally seen in children having predisposition to Tuberculosis. So if tests confirm that there are adenoids present it is important to know if there is history of Tuberculosis in the family( both sides) . Treatment is significantly different for inherited tuberculosis and acquired tuberculosis.
