baby constipation

My baby is constipated from eating bananas. She is 10 months old and has only gone to the bathroom once without baby lax suppositories in over a week. The first BM was hard and after that softer. So I am afraid there is a blockage and when she does go, it isn't taking care of the blockage. She has been only breastfed for the past four days. Prunes and prune juice have not seemed to help. The doctor has said to try MOM but I have not done so yet. I am not taking any meds. Help!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Try nux vomica 6c,5 drops in a little water thrice .It will set the matter right,i hope.

I am having trouble finding the liquid. Would the pellets in 6c be OK? One under the tongue three times a day?

Or could I dissolve some in water and give her the water?

When my son was a baby, I used to dissolves pellets in a tiny bit of water (it takes a while).

Another thing that worked for him (I got it from a mother's exercise/baby massage video) was to massage his feet with my thumbs. I used to press quite hard and he loved it. It always made him go. Circular light massageon the tummy sometimes works.

How many of the pellets at a time did you dissolve? Thank you!

It was a long time ago...I didn't use nux vomica but a brand called NuMedicine at the time. Their purple labels were for kids and I used the one called constipation. I dissolved the entre recommended dose at once--it seems to me about6-8 pellets.--the massage was still the best and quickest remedy for him though.

I wonder if it helps if YOU take prune juice since you are breastfeeding...

I tried the reflexology last night. She fussed a little and tried to bear down-nothing. I am going to try it again today and I will look for the brand you mentioned. I am about ready to give her Karo syrup in some water(I hate to put that awful sugar in her) but a friend of mine said that was the only thing that softened the blockage for her daughter(my daughter may have one too) because she has been strickly on breastmilk for five days now. Thanks for your help

I think the refloxology worked today. It was about a half hour after the second treatment today. She went with ease and it was all liquid as she has only been on breastmilk so there may not have been a blockage afterall and her system just needed to heal and restart. I am going to start her on vegetables now. Thank you all.

Good to hear!!! BTW I wasn't promoting that brand--it was okay (I don't think it is even available anymore) but the massage always worked--sometimes it took a day or so but it always worked. My son would vomit if he had an intestinal blockage so I would massage his feet and belly if he even seemed sluggish and he loved it.

It is always great to avoid laxatives and they are uncomfortable for baabies (and adults!).
