Hi Sameer,

Wish you a very happy Dushehra!

I was visiting my native place at a very short notice and did not have access to internet. My apologies for the delay in giving you update about his status. He seemed to be okay at the time of posting my last message, but had breathing difficulty later in the evening. We were travelling the next day and air conditioning made things worse for him.

The weather was extremely hot and humid at my native place. I felt that there was too much of dust in the air. His condition worsened with all these factors and we had to use both the blue and pink inhalers. For last two days, he is off both inhalers and seem to be doing fine as of today. He is still there at my native place.

I am not sure how much he was helped by Silicea because we had kept a threshold for using allopathic options. It is not very low, but when we hear him wheezing and when he is having breathing difficulty, we administer inhaler to him.

Thanks,
Navdeep

Hi Sameer,

We are not fully able to get him off inhalers. When we put him on inhalers he seems to be doing good, when we stop, after 2 or 3 days he develops wheezing and breathing difficulty.

One drastic change that we observe in him is that his energy level is high almost throughout the day. He has become very hyperactive and full of energy. He keeps talking non stop.

He loves to play around. He always wants to keep doing something and don want to sit ideal. He has become very naughty and mischievous.

He also has developed a psoriasis spot at the back side of his head. Within a matter of a week it has increased considerably in size.

Please let us know if you need any other information to better understand his constitution.

Thanks
Navdeep

Talk about his non-stop talking ... any particular traits to his speech ? Fast or slow ? What does he talk about ?

Any feelings of jealousy ?

sameervermani last decade
Hi Sameer,

Here is the answer to your queries:

He is possessive about his favorite toys and wouldn't share his toys/other favorite things easily, but he is not very jealous. He doesn't mind his mother/me sharing affection with other kids. He let us buy gifts for other kids without creating much fuss about it - he still could end up having us buy him his favorite toy of the moment.

His talking speed when he is too excited is fast. He would sing fast his favorite songs/rhymes and dance to his favorite tunes. He talks slowly if he is tired and about to fall asleep, or if he is not doing well like if he is having fever. Otherwise his talking speed is normal.

We don't let his wheezing attacks go out of control now, but previously when he used to get the attacks, he would become more talkative than normal.

No specific pattern to his talks, depends upon what he is doing and what is going on in his life at the moment. He previously used to talk about his surgery and often would perform 'surgery' on us. He attaches a lot of importance to things he considers 'big and strong'. Initially it was elephant, then cowboy/cow, then it was steam engine (thanks to thomas and his friends series) and now it is diesel locomotive. He once saw diesel locomotive speed across the tracks and now thinks that is most powerful thing on planet. He would assume personality of his fav big and strong thing and would sometimes boisterously say he is 'diesel/gordon(steam engine)/cow/elephant' and act like one.

Sometimes even when a stranger asks his name, he could get a reply like 'blue diesel' or 'cowboy', so much is his attachment to big and strong. We sometimes use this as a positive/negative motivation to get him dressed up or feed him something.

He also asks series of questions one after another studded with glorious 'whats and whys'. Apart from this, his talks would be mostly concentrated at the moment, the play or act his is involved in and driving the discussion to his likes/dislikes. If let to dominate, he would ride on you, hit you, jump on you and sometimes even bite you (only if he likes you very much and he is too excited). He loves to play all day and keep giggling/laughing. If he is annoyed with the discussion, he sometimes even hits you and display his anger verbally by rebuking/talking 'tough'.

I am not very sure, but I think he tries to dominate other kids whom he is playing with by hitting them whenever he gets a chance. it is also relevant to mention here that he is scared of insects and other animals except kittens.

Thanks,
Navdeep

How is his confidence level ?

sameervermani last decade
Normally, his confidence is quite good. He might feel shy at moments to begin with, but when he gets going, he doesn't display any lack of confidence. He mixes up quite well with his peer group - no doubt about his confidence level. Same is true for people he likes, even if he is meeting for the first or second time. His teacher says that in his class too he is good at taking initiative. All indicative of his good self confidence.

Does he have any dislike for high neck clothing ?

At the time, he was born, you were proving the Sulphur, right ?

sameervermani last decade
Yes Sameer, when he was born I was proving sulphur. His mother is also having food allergies to egg and skin allergies on hands to onion/tomatoes/detergents.

We haven't put him on high neck clothing. Even in cold weather, he sweats a lot around his neck and gets prickly heat quite readily. He would feel uneasy with round neck clothings if it is suffocating or if its causing too much sweating. He reacts by keeping on pulling down his t-shirt to get some air.

Anything else about him that is odd ?

Any other symptom ?

I am still torn between 3 remedies..

sameervermani last decade
Hi Sameer,

We spent a lot of time pondering over whats odd about him or any other symptom that we might not have reported it to you. Couldn't find anything like that. However, there are certain aspects that we probably hadn't disclosed before and we thought those could help you choose the right remedy. We will keep discussing about these two questions and will let you know if we find something.

He is very easily influenced by others. He would imitate/catch habits of other kids quite readily. He would even imitate adults/me if that leaves a strong enough impression on him. Even his style of crying/speaking tone would change influenced by other kids.

He sweats profusely - especially during sleep and on his head and neck. Sometimes we think it is cold but when we touch his head, we find him sweating. He wouldn't normally
let us cover him with bed sheet. Most often than not, he would kick it away. He is also very sensitive to heat. He would start looking red like a tomato when in hot weather.

He wants attention almost all the time. sometimes when we are watching tv and it is not his favorite program, he would switch off the tv. He would also pick up something and start running so that we run after him. Sometimes I come from office and he wouldn't let me talk to anybody else. He wants to talk to me only.

He doesn't like to be lonely. Even when he is playing alone, he doesn't like to be left alone. He would either keep on calling us or would come where we are sitting.

He doesn't like to bathe, especially if the water is cold. He enjoys to color with crayons but is not as good at his writing. He wants to be appreciated for every word he writes and he has to be motivated for getting his work done. He doesn't like criticism at all.

He wants his mother to be around all the time. If he doesn't see her for a while, he would start asking for her and it is very difficult to get his attention diverted towards anything else. While sleeping too, he wouldn't sleep without his mother and holds her hair while sleeping.

He likes to help us with any activity that he is capable of. He feels happy that we ask him for help.

Please let me know if this information is helpful. I'll discuss with my wife again and would let you know if we have anything more to add.

Meanwhile, if you could please frame some questions differentiating the three remedies in your mind, then that would really be great.

Thanks,
Navdeep

Please give him 3 doses of LYCOPODIUM 30c in the exact same manner.

Report in 10 days. Try to avoid allopathic medication during this period.

sameervermani last decade
Hi Sameer,

Does the restrictions about allopathic medications apply to inhalers too? Please let me know. He is not on any other medicines except inhalers, which we use on SOS basis.

We have also started lycopodium 3 doses of lycopodium 30 and would finish all 3 by morning. We'll report you in 10 days...

psoriasis1977 last decade
Avoid the inhaler as much as possible.

sameervermani last decade
Hi Sameer,

Even before administering him Lycopodium 30c, he had a rash in his elbow crease. We thought it looked like a psoriasis spot. However, he seem to have a lot of itching on the spot and scratched it to such an extent that it has become a wound. Some kind of sticky water keeps coming out it and it seems it hurts him sometimes too. Now going by the appearance, I am not sure it looks like psoriasis (it looks like a wound) and we are afraid it might get worse. We plan to take him to dermatologist to diagnose what exactly the issue is. While I still suspect it might turn out to be psoriasis, I guess we might need to apply some kind of ointment to relieve him of immediate acute symptoms.

Please let me know your take on it. Does externally applied skin creams also fall into category of prohibition list? If your concern is avoiding steroid based drugs then we might ask the doctor about prescribing non steroid based cream.

In any case, we don't plan to use it immediately but we want to have a medication handy in case things start to get worse.

Thanks,
Navdeep

Hi Navdeep,

This is a good sign, and should not be interfered with.

The asthma and other problems have their roots in suppressions of skin eruptions only.

Do not under any circumstances apply any creams on it. Dermatologists have no idea what these are, but we as homeopaths know these are just manifestations of psoric miasm breaking its head through the surface. When suppressed, these cause what Hahnemann caused the 'hydra headed monster' constituting the seeds of all human sickness.

Do not apply anything, I will tackle it when the time comes.

Thanks for the informative post, Sameer, we will not interfere with his skin problems. We have complete trust in you, so we leave it to you to decide the best course :).

Hi Sameer,

He had a sudden and severe asthma attack early morning around 3.30-4AM. He was completely out of breath, restless and perspiring. He was moving from one side of bed to another, then woke up and started crying. He was asking us to call his friend and father, probably for getting help. He was not saying anything much but just crying. He seem to be suffocated by attack and seemed to be too anxious (ghabrahat would be correct word). We then gave him inhaler which relieved him immediately and he slept after that. The episode was too acute to avoid use of inhaler.

Usually asthma attack would build up over several days and we know how he is doing during that time, but this time it appeared to come on suddenly and never in past he got to this level of discomfort.

I believe this attack was triggered by his physical activity and/or the food he had at night. We went out yesterday and he was running around in the open place. He seemed a little out of breath, but we were not concerned as we thought he would settle down once he goes to sleep.

What makes me concerned is the sudden acuteness of attack. I am just wondering if would continue to have such episodes in future.

psoriasis1977 last decade
Just a quick addition, a little puss oozed out of little rash he had. He seem to be doing fine otherwise as of now and we didn't have to repeat the inhaler dose again.

psoriasis1977 last decade
Sameer, sorry for the flurry of posts, but I was premature in saying that his asthma attack has subsided. He started to wheeze after he woke up from after noon nap. He is having dry cough and wet nose too. He keeps on doing something or other physical activity and won't sit quiet for a moment, and that also acts as a catalyst too.

Can we apply some antibacterial powder (neomycin or something like that) on his rash wound so that his infection does not get worsened?

psoriasis1977 last decade
Let us wait for a few days, if things dont come on track by 1 week, I will intervene.

You can clean the wound with something like savlon/dettol if you want to keep it disinfected. A light cream can be applied if it is painful.

By the way, what is his exact age ?

sameervermani last decade
he is a little over 4 now. his dob is 27/08/05.

psoriasis1977 last decade
Hi Sameer,

I have created a small online album for you to take a look at your young patient and condition of his rash. It would be great if you can please let me know your assessment of his rash after seeing the pictures. The rash has worsened so much within a matter of few days and I am worried if it can sustain for a week more without interference.

I have uploaded my photos too so that you can compare how my skin looked like before you started treatment, another one nearly 3 months down the line and the latest one. I'll send you the link separately by email.

Thanks,
Navdeep

Hi Navdeep,

Keep the wound cleaned through any anti-septic, and in the pics, it seems to me that it is drying out. However, care must be taken not to scratch it open again.

Apply Calendula cream on it, it will help the healing. You can buy Calendula cream from homeopathic shops.

sameervermani last decade
Yes Sameer, it was looking better in the evening, but it keeps oozing out sticky water and doesn't let the wound heal.
We'll start with Calendula cream tomorrow.

Sameer,

His asthma attack is getting worse. He is having tremendous difficulty in breathing and is accompanied with cough, which is unproductive most of the time. He vomited out today throwing up a lot of mucus along with the meals he last had. He expectorated a few times after that, but hasn't got any better. His cough and breathlessness gets only better with inhalers.

He is quite normal otherwise, his energy levels remain high and he keeps on doing something or talking something in spite of being breathless.

This is turning out to be one of the most severe attack in probably a years time. Actually when we look back, he started having the attacks after his lymph node episode (mid august) when he was given lot of antibiotics and some analgesics (to which he turned out to be allergic too). He has been on and off inhalers intermittently ever since.

We are tackling this episode by use of inhalers. I wish we could have avoided them completely, but it was very tough this time. We might have to continue with inhalers as we wait for his last administered remedy to show some impact. So far we haven't been able to notice anything significant.

I have read at a couple of places that Ars Alb 200c can be used in acute episodes, so I thought we should ask you if it might be suitable for him too. Please let me know if you have any piece of advice for us.

Thanks,
Navdeep
