4 month old on prevacid need remedy

Hi I have a 4 month old on prevacid compound 1ml 2 times a day.
He has been refluxing a lot lately. I am tired of giving him medication as I don't think it is the safest and seems to bother his stomach too. He has been on it since he was 3 weeks old too.
He is bottle fed with barley cereal(1 teaspoon per oz) and I give him probiotics before bedtime.
I have just stopped giving him prevacid last night and gave him a tab of Nat Phos 6x dissolved in a littler bit of formula after his first feeding this morning. He also sleeps on a reflux wedge when sleeping. We have been trying to put him down on a smaller wedge (15deg) but he does best with the 45deg one. He does not sleep much during the day (30min intervals after each feed maybe) but he does sleep 10 hour at night (thank goodness).
I am afraid of a flare up from not taking prevacid...how do I proceed with Nat Phos ? Is the one tab dissolved in a little formula ok after each feed? What can I expect? How long should I do it before stopping? Please respond asap :) I just want a happy babe again.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
If natrum phos 6x doesn't help, you may see how Lycopodium 30 works. The dose is one pill twice a day in milk.

Thank you! He is also on Neocate super sensitive formula. I give him 5 oz and wait 4 hrs between feedings.
What is the difference between Lycopodim and Nat Phos? Why that suggestion?
Does anyone know the process as to how long it will take to see results and also does it get worse ?

daniellec last decade
Hi,

the natphos 6x is joe de livera's baby gerd protocol.

http://www.joedelivera.com, you can read on it on his site
and talk to him there about it.

He usually suggest 1/2 tab after a feeding no more than
5 times in 24 hours. You can dissolve in milk as you are doing
or water. You should see effects of this in a day or two days,
if you see relief after this time but it is not progressing then
go to a full tab for awhile, then to the 1/2 tab. You start
reducing this as the baby is better till you don't have to give
anything.

You can try Lycopodium as Kadwa suggested if this does not
work, there are several remedies for this problem.

Make sure the probiotics are working and not causing
gas or discomfort, bc not all brands agree with everyone and
sometimes after a few weeks of taking one brand the person
has had enough of those particular strains and can take a break
or another one would work better.

He is taking flora baby. I feel it helps keep him regular. The problem we are having is his reflux is silent and you can hear him hiccup a lot and swallow a lot an hour after eating like the acid is in his throat. You can hear him gurgle it.....and it he sits he screams and to put him down to sleep is hard too except at night.
I already gave him the one tab this morning. Is that ok you think? He seems to be sleeping for longer then yesterday. Which is a good sign.
Do you think eventually we won't need to have him on this wedge if the remedy works?
Also do I burp him before giving the remedy of after?

daniellec last decade
He will be cured and you won't have to use the wedge.
Burp him before you give the remedy- Joe tells people
to mix it up in the formula, but on some babies
I know they spit this out and don't get the remedy,
that is why I say dissolve in a tablespoon of water bc
that is easy to spoon it in and you know it was absorbed.

Please give him a single dose of Chamomila 30c.

Just one dose. Not daily.

One dose is made by dissolving one pill of the remedy in half a glass of cooled, boiled water. Stir it and give one tea spoon from it.

Report back with changes observed.

fitness last decade
Should I not continue the Nat Phos? Or do this instead of? Or with? Why do you suggest this?

daniellec last decade
Chamomila should be given after stopping ALL other medicines & remedies.

Keeping in view all of his symptoms that you have given, I think its the indicated remedy.

If I am right, you will see the results of the single dose within 12-24 hrs, otherwise nothing will happen.

With the other protocols e.g. Nat Phos or Prevacid, 1 or 2 doses will never yield the substantial results that the right potentized remedy can give.

Confused. Do you suggest I stop Nat Phos? I have already stopes prevacid 2 days ago. He has taken Nat Phos 1tab 4 times a day now. I notice some improvement but he still screams like his stomach bothers him. Do you think I should completely stop nat phos tomorrow or give chamomilla with Nat Phos tomorrow or at end of night or next day?

daniellec last decade
I am sorry if this is causing confusion. Everyone has a different style of prescribing.

You have already tried Nat Phos. If you see reasonable improvement, you can continue with it till 100% relief is obtained.

My prescription is different from most in that I go after full cure in as few doses as possible (classical homeopathy)

So my advise is to not give any more Nat Phos from now on.

Tomorrow morning, give him Chamomila as described. You should be seeing substantial improvement (not slight improvement) within 24 hrs, if my advised remedy is right.

If I am wrong, all you loose is 24 hrs.

If I am right, you will have full cure in probably less than 3 doses and those too spread over a few days.

Thanks for clarifying :) Do you suggest just one tab tomorrow? And if it works for 3 days? What brand do you suggest? Do I give it morning afternoon or night? Before or after feeding ? In water or under tongue?

Logging in to observe progress.

Today any time, as early as convenient.

Just one dose. Not daily, not every 3 days. Just one dose.

I normally use Boiron.

Preferably before feeding, dissolved in water as explained above.

One dose is made by dissolving one pill of the remedy in half a glass of cooled, boiled water. Stir it and give one tea spoon from it. For quick dissolving you can crush one pellet with the back side of a spoon first and then put in the glass of water.

fitness last decade
Great will do today. Should I put the pellet in after water is boiled then let cool. or put pellet in the cool water?

daniellec last decade
put in the water after it s cool fully

He just had a freak out again. Has not slept for longer than 3omin woke up screaming then let out a burp and calmed down a little will see how he does rest of the day without any nat phos.

daniellec last decade
Have you given the Chamomila as yet?

fitness last decade
Yes I gave before his 2nd feeding 2 hours before it. He is still super cranky and not sleeping

daniellec last decade
The improvement appears gradually, if you can't see any improvement at all in approx. 8 hrs, the remedy is wrong.

You can go back to Nat-Phos.

An important aspect of my remedy choice that I want to confirm: The child gets better when carried. Can you please confirm.

I apologize if this didn't work out.

fitness last decade
He was always better when carried. That's the problem was he didn't want to be put down in chair or anthing. Seems calmer today just had some reflux spit up tonight ( clear Slimy like formula and slime) but didn't seem overly bothered by it. He seems happier than yesterday but I am not sure if he just has less prevacid is his body and is now getting back to normal. He last had prevacid on Monday night. Had nat phos Tues and Wed. Today just chamomilla. Should I try giving it to him again tomorrow??

daniellec last decade
I'd suggest to wait unless you see significant rebound of symptoms.

If they do, repeat a dose of Chamomila 30c, as described earlier. Don't throw away the mixture of Chamomila, keep it handy somewhere in the kitchen, covered, not in direct sunlight, out of the fridge.

In the absence of Prevacid and Nat-P for two days we will know for sure whether its Nat-P or Cham that's curative.

Our goal is to get rid of Prevacid. Period.

Today he has been ok so far. Got cranky and super constipated gave him chamomilla at 11 was good. Cried from constipation for a bit. Helped him with thermometer. He went later after help. Seems more at ease now. Was the constipation from being off prevacid, taking nat phos or taking chamomilla. Will try tomorrow to give nothing otherwise will try chamomilla again and of doesn't work will go back to nat phos.

daniellec last decade
Hi Danielle,

You might want to add in some baby probiotic to
help his constipation - you can find brands at
Whole Foods.
