Cough after flu

I got the flu about a month ago. It only lasted for 2-3 days. Since then, I have had a short, dry cough every morning. My nose is a little bit stuffed. During the day I feel fine. I talked to a homeopathic doctor and she prescribed Causticum, but it is not helping. If it will help-I smoke occasionally (not a lot) and I love coffee and chocolate.
