New eczema treatments on horizon
New ways to treat skin conditions which affect millions of people could be on the way after a scientific discovery. Experts led by the University of Dundee have discovered the gene which causes dry skin, leading to eczema and asthma.
The gene produces the protein filaggrin, which helps the skin form a protective outer barrier. Experts hope to use the discovery for more effective therapies to tackle the root causes of the conditions, rather than simply treating the symptoms.
At the moment the only treatment is through the use of emollients and ointments or anti-inflammatory drugs.
The research, to be published in the journal Nature Genetics, was undertaken with collaborators in Glasgow, Dublin, Seattle and Copenhagen.
Filaggrin, abundant in the outermost layers of the skin, keeps bacteria and viruses out while keeping water in to prevent the skin from drying. Reduction or absence of the protein leads to dry and flaky skin.
Professor Irwin McLean, of Dundee University's human genetics department, said the elusive gene had been known about for 20 years or more but was difficult to analyse................
This news item highlights the new discovery of the gene which is responsible for both Eczema and Asthma and hopefully when the scientists are ready with it mankind will be spared the ravages of both ailments which are quite common today.
It is remarkably how the scientific fraternity today do not consider that Homeopathy can help in the cure of both ailments. I have promoted the use of Arnica 6c in the liquid dose for Eczema and this includes chronic Eczema which in some cases have been suffered by patients for over 75 years who suddenly discovered that they were cured in a few weeks.
The cure of Eczema seems to be very straight forward to me and I believe that the rate of success that I have achieved is around 85%.
As for Asthma I recommend Nat Sulph 6c also in the liquid dose taken 1 teaspoonful daily and here too patients who were wedded to their inhalers for over 20 years were cured in a few weeks.

It sounds like you have a very difficult issue on your hands. As many have eluded to already there seems to be an abundance of methods to tackle eczema with some more fuitful than others.
You may have heard of a few natural methods which are starting to become increasingly popular of late, one of which was tried by a family member. We were all really pleased to see very favourable results over a long term and so its something i thought i would mention in the hope that you may find it beneficial.
It took a long time to find a safe source to obtain a reliable information from but the best website i have come across to date is a review website called doctorzreview I really hope this is somewhat useful!
