Dear Rishi,

And if I may ask, who wrote the conventions given on this link ? Show me something by someone I can trust, someone among the old masters.

This debate can go on forever.

I guess, we should agree to disagree. I do not believe same potency is to be repeated mechanically, whhether it be 12C or 30C.

Sameer.

Thank you for your advices on lycopodium and sulphur. Definitely something to think about. We've tried sulphur a few years back (a homeopath's recommendation) but nothing happened. I think I was pretty desperate at one point so I tried giving sulphur 30C a few times a day and waited. Then I tried giving sulphur 30C once a day for several days. This time, I'll try lycopodium 12C. The remedy will arrive in a few days and I'll report on the progress. I too hope that it's the appropriate remedy for my son. Thank you again.

sameer,

if you agree to disagree on this issue, can we resolve that in any subsequent thread we will not try to comment on each other's prescription as far as repetition is concerned.

however, if you want to discuss the choice of remedy, you are welcome.

dragonsaur,

now that you have tried SULPHUR in many ways, you should go for LYCOPODIUM now. considering the pathogenesis, LYCOPODIUM is a better choice.

the reasons i suggested a low potency, are,

- we cant subdue the eczema but we need to regulate it towards cure.
- a slow response is required otherwise the eczema can go out of control.

this slow response is required on a continuous basis for slow and controlled improvement of the symptoms. thus, repetition is required in calculated intervals.

during the course of treatment, if the condition of the eczema worsens a bit, its an indication that the dosage have to be a little more spaced out.

while you start with 6c initially, you may note at some point that this potency doesnt work any more. in that case, you have to go for 12c.

for skin ailments on a 4 years old child, 12c is good enough to bring about a cure.

as far as the reference link is concerned, its Simon King's site who is a free lance classical homeopath and has got all the knowledge a practising homeopath should have.

different remedies of the same potencies have different energy levels and thus they require different levels of repetitions.

this is just a general reference for guidance.

in europe, especially in france and germany, low potency doses are given for several days. its quite common.i know many practicing homeopaths who do it, and are flourishing in their practising.

My child had eczema issues as baby and later early years. A doctor in Bangalore (who doesn't practice anymore since she is 88 yrs) said it was 'Bovine Tubercolosis' indicated by cow's milk allergy---My daughter was cured completely (no more eczema & no more breathing trouble) by her homeopathic med. She prescribed Tuberculinum Bovinum. Check with a homeopath about dosage on that. Good luck.

Allergy to cow's milk. Tuberculinum Bovinum. Check with a local Homeopath for dosage and monitoring of skin. My daughter was cured of all this eczema and breathing trouble.

Hair Loss,

Does your child have any other allergies? What dosage did you give her?

I can't go to a homeopath here to just ask about a dosage question only. They will want to whole case etc.

Recently we noticed a lump behind his right knee. The doctor thinks it's Baker's cyst but it's not soft like a cyst ought to be or hard like a bone. Somewhere in btwn. The lump does not hinder my son's movements. However, he says it hurts if I touch or press it.

Also, since he was young, he had hydrocele (sp?) - fluid in testicle. We've not noticed that recently though.

Will that influence the remedy selection? The remedy hasn't arrived yet.

He had stuffy nose for a long time so yesterday, I gave him pulsatilla and then he started coughing. I gave him pulsatilla 30C one dose a day for 2 days and then his cough became more phlegmy. He woke up a few times at night to sit up and complained of stuffy nose.

This morning, he woke up with wet cough and vomitted / gagged a few times. So I gave ipec 30C two doses. His gagging stopped but he continued to cough, dry and has a metallic sound (like you tap a spoon against a glass). When he breathes, I can hear some rattling. He was breathing hard (stridor) and fast. Heart beat was fast too. I gave him ant-t 30C one dose but I couldn't wait for it to work because we had to leave the house so I gave him asthma inhalers.

He wanted to eat donut but stopped after a few bites. Instead he drank orange juice and ate strawberries. He is very affectionate and is affectionate in return. He wants to be with me all the time. Still very playful despite wheezing.

Lycopodium 12C arrived today but I thought I should wait till this episode is over.

Does anyone have any suggestion of what I ought to do? I am afraid that he might be asthmatic like his brother.

dragonsaur last decade
let this cough thing be over.

start lyco after a few days. its not pressing on you now.

rishimba last decade
Ant-t 30C helped. Gave 3 times on one day. Next day, improved. I always thought you need high potency to get it to work but I could see him getting over it much quicker this time.

Rishimba, Thanks for your reply. Will wait a day or two before giving lyco.

Look into Tuberculinum Bovinum, my child had the same symptoms as yours and is now cured.

Hair Loss last decade
When I got my child treated with Tuberculium Bobinum, I had stopped using asthma inhalers. Please be careful and don't experiment, this is your precious child. Pls go to a homeopathy clinic.

I am not experimenting. I read up on the remedies they suggest and then decide. If I find something fishy or unmatching, I will not follow through. I have spent lots of money for two years on different local homeopaths. No success. So, I am going this route where it's open to discussion. Other people are free to debate the prescription. But, thanks for your concern. I appreciate and understand what you mean. I would not have asked for help through an open forum had the ones we saw made some progress. Thanks again. :)

Questionnaire of the child:

Boy, 4 y.o. living in California. Dry weather.

Main problem: itchy, red eczema on backside, legs (around thighs, knees, ankles). Private region itches too.

Worse when: lying down bedtime with warm covers or warm bed. Doesn't like to wear socks or underwear. Says they make him itchy.

Better when: bath.

Secondary problem: stuffy nose when lying down or in stuffy room.

Worse when: stuffy room, warm weather.

Better when: open windows, outdoors, fresh air

When suffering, would state his complaints repeatedly. 'Mommy, I'm itchy.' Whiny?

Sleeps: on belly. Kicks off coverings.

General personality:
- playful
- loves affection and hugs. Returns them too. He likes to sit close to me to the point of touching my arm.
- hits, throws or screams when angry
- if he sees me sad, will try to cheer me up by doing something silly
- if he gets scolded, he will apologize quickly
- loves to play with water
- doesn't like to share
- competitive with older brother
- doesn't like to lose games / race etc.
- curious about things
- likes to be praised

Past ailments: had croup when younger. Had steroid shot once because he had difficulty breathing. Hydrocele on the right testicles since little. Baker's cyst on right knee.

Vaccination: only 1 shot of polio. Had fever after that.

When did eczema start: shortly after birth. It was pretty mild and only on the belly area but as he got older, it went away but eczema appeared below waist.

Foods: likes sweet, salty and slightly sourish foods. Eg. strawberries, chips, muffins, honey. Dislikes spicy and bitter.

Foods aggravate: he gets hives when he eats rich foods like pork or milk. Hives appear around the belly and below his ears.

Had lyco 12C for a few days and then eczema became worse. Not sure if it's attributed to increase in hot weather or the remedy. It's been more than a month and his condition is still bad. No improvements.

Please give him 3 doses of Pulsatilla 30C equally spaced on a single day.

Report status in 1 week after these 3 doses.

He had a cough a few weeks ago and I gave him puls 30C. He started wheezing and gagging so I gave him ipec 30C. Next day, I reduced it to puls 12C for a few days. The cough slowly improved but did nothing else.

dragonsaur last decade
And, did you give any more medicines after Pulsatilla ?

sameervermani last decade
Arnica - because he bumped his head.

dragonsaur last decade
when you say, bathing ameliorates him , is it cold bath or warm bath ?

sameervermani last decade
Slightly warm or cool, not cold. Weather here is pretty cold for real cool baths / showers. I assume there is no difference btwn showers and baths.

dragonsaur last decade
I still feel there are very strong indications for Pulsatilla.

Try just a single 30C dose, and see if the eczema improves bit.

sameervermani last decade
Does it matter if the remedy is given in the morning or at bedtime?
