Seasonal AllergiesI've had seasonal allergies for 17 years now - a month or so in the spring, and a month or so in the fall. I'd like to get away from the various allopathic drugs I've taken in the past. I tried the Remedy Finder but came up with several different options (Sulphur, Nux Vom, Tub) and so would like a little more guidance.
I have had allergy testing done and am allergic to trees, weeds, and grasses. Symptoms usually start in late April and last through early-mid June, and then again in mid-September to the first hard frost (generally late October). I live in the Midwest/Great Lakes area of the US.
Symptoms are primarily:
--sneezing - violent/forceful, almost always two sneezes in a row, at various times throughout the day. Once per year, generally late spring, I sneeze practically all day long, and it feels as if every nerve in my body is exposed to the air.
--itchy eyes - mostly the corners, this is relieved by rubbing. Before the sneezing/typical allergies started, I would get conjunctivitis every summer, but haven't had that for about 20 years now
--runny nose - clear, watery discharge, combined with congestion, occasionally itchy (inside/septum)
--occasionally itchy roof of mouth
--occasional vertigo/dizzy feeling; at random times, not enough to loose balance, more like I've been spinning
--very occasionally my eyes will be extremely sensitive to light; at times I've had to wear sunglasses while driving at night because the lights from the oncoming cars were so bothersome. Maybe once every couple of years it gets that bad.
I do wear contact lenses but they don't seem to aggravate the problem most of the time (nor does taking them out relieve it).
Symptoms are relieved when I'm inside with closed windows/air conditioning. Sneezing is worse in bright sunlight or sometimes bright overhead lights.
I also suffer from sinus headaches with changes of weather, mostly relating to precipitation. This is independent of any allergy symptoms.
37 yo female, medium height, overweight (though the allergies started when I was normal weight), in general good health otherwise.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
