PMDD?, Depression, hypothyroid

I feel like I am a mess. Just a little about myself: I am 33 years old, have 4 children: the youngest being 2yrs old. I had a tubal ligation after the 4th and have been a little messed up since then.
My perionds are slightly irregular, ranging from every 15 to 24 days, most recently being closer to 24 days on average.

I've struggled with anxiety/depression for a while now. Feeling like people would be better without me, although never so extreme as suicidal. Just overwhelmed and get very worked up in stressful situations. I am taking Celexa r/x by my nurse practionier for the depression.

I also have been diagnosed as hypothyroid. I take Levothyroxin 112mcg.

I've been noticing a pattern that about 10 to 12 days before the start of my period, the anxiety gets really bad. I am generally happy with life & with husband. But during that time I feel like I could get a divorce. It's awful how crazy I feel. My memory is foggy as well and I have been breaking out with huge, painful acne on cheeks and back.

It seems like there should be some natural help available for all this. I just dont have much money for lots of doctor appointments. Am I crazy? Please help. Thanks so much!

Hi! I was just reading some of the answered posts and I was hoping that maybe you could advise me on how to manage my PMDD (I think).

Patient ID: Sex: Age:

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering? about a week before my period I experience a really rough phase. My breasts are very tender, I have 0 sex drive, I almost hate my husband (whom I love dearly the other 3 weeks of the month) and I become obsessive with anything that makes me angry

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body? occasional headaches, cramping...but otherwise pretty healthy

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings? Basically the out of charachter behavior. I feel like I am a completely different person for that week, but once I start my period I begin to get better day by day until the next month.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?
hopelessness, anger, it's sort of manic so I could be laughing one minute and raging the next. I try to control it with mind over matter, but I still can't stop the feelings - I can only control my actions.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease? probably when I had my baby almost 4 yrs ago. I have previously been treated with anti-depressants but only after I quit those did I notice a definite pattern in my behavior and I pinpointed it to that week prior to my period.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?
All day

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? Stress, I have a harder time keeping myself calm when there is a stressful situation and then I lapse into obsessing over whatever is stressing me.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)? Definitely my period. It's like clockwork. I get a pimple, then I start teetering between well-being and full blown depression, then I notice my breasts are tender, then come the cramps, then the period, then a feeling of renewal and a zest for life again.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather? I feel best in spring type air, dry and about 75 degrees.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc. Generally I am very optimistic, loving, peaceful, and spiritual.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm? Odd question but I really feel great during a thunderstorm now that you ask
- Do you like being consoled during your tough times? No, absolutely not. I find it to be annoying.
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? Yes, overpowering smells and chaotic or very noises - not music, but conversation or banging makes me a little anxious
- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc? no, I don't think so
- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife? I love them more than life itself. I love my child more than I could possibly explain, I love my family and am very close to them, I have just a few close friends but they are VERY close and almost like family, and I love my husband very much too, but we do clash occasionally

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly? I have the basic fears for the safety of my loved ones but nothing extreme. I do have a recurring dream right now about some place I seem to be renting as a vacation home but I obviously have been there a really long time and each time I dream about it I am packing gettin gready to go home and deciding what to take with me. In this dream, sometimes family members or friends stop by. The other night I was trying to decide whether to take a stray cat i had been feeding when I realized he was actually my real cat at my real home and all of a sudden I was back home in my dream. This was about 2 days before the symptoms began again.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions? I really don't have cravings except during my period and it's pretty typical; chocolate. I do not like mushy foods like pudding unless it's on a crust like a pudding pie.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive? Excessive

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive? Less after my period then normal for a couple of weeks but excessive right before my period

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand? some kinds of grease, certain restaurants I cannot eat at or I will get diarrhea and upset stomach

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? normal, I guess. Mostly on head.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type? usually soft but solid, regular...at least once per day

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping? very well, I sleep on my stomach

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general? yes

20. What peculiar or strange sensation do you have in any part of your body at times? Do you sometimes feel ‘ as if…..’ in some part of the body? sometimes I feel pressure on the sides of my abdomen. Like a muscle cramp and it sometimes keeps me from moving until it goes away. This is occasional and I'm not sure how I trigger it. I also have had issues with sciatica since I was pregnant.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication? I am on no medications currently. I actually found that medicines made me feel worse. Previously I have been prescribed celexa, zoloft, prozac, atavan,

22. What major diseases are running in your family? none, my family is very healthy overall

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance. average height, brownish blond hair, a little overweight but not severely obese or anything, peach complexion.

24. (ONLY FOR FEMALES)

If you are not having normal menstrual cycles, please answer the following questions:

- Are the periods early, regular or late in general? How long do they last? They come at odd intervals. I don't keep up with the dates b/c I have an IUD. They last anywhere from 1 - 7 days and the flow varies. From what I understand this is common with an IUD.

- Do you suffer from any kind of physical or mental discomfort before, during or after the periods?
Before the period, mental and physical. Based on the symptoms, I have guessed that it is PMDD. I feel a little better once my period starts and a couple of days after that I'm back to my old self again.

- Is the flow scanty, normal or excessive?
it totally varies. It was normal to excessive last time but the time before that it was scanty.

- Is the blood thick bright red or pale watery?
pale and watery sometimes but occasionally thick and red like last month.

- Do you notice any clots in the flow?
Yes, there are clots sometimes

Thank you for any help you can offer me!!

if you buy pillules, take 5 pillules under your tongue and chew it as long as you can.

if you take liquid remedy, take 3 drops in a quarter cup of water and sip it slowly to let it get absorbed in your mouth linings.

dont take any food or water one hour before or after taking the remedy.

initial aggravation of symptoms, if any, is a good sign, which is also called the healing crisis. dont get dissapointed or impatient. you will be cured gradually.

a repeat or doses will only be required when the symptoms return.
