Hello,

I've been reading books and studying homeopathy on my own, and I think I may by Medorrhinum. Any thoughts or ideas on this, anyone?

Any ideas on dosage/potentcy?

Thanks!

No please, stop everything.

If you want help, please create a new topic and I'll help you from there.

raphaeloliveira last decade
Ok. There's no need to open a new topic. I just saw your messages and realized that you have posted enough information.

I just have one question. Are you more a chilly or warm person? How do you take cold and hot weather in general?

raphaeloliveira last decade
In my openion you should try HYPERICUM Q at a dose of 3 times 10 to 15 drops per day mixed with 30ml of pure drinking water.Take the mixed medicine at least half an hour b4 your foods and continue for a week and come back with your update.Regards, malaker

Thanks for the replies and advice.

Raphael: I am generally a chilly person, I guess, but I live in Arizona where its very very hot. I hate that. I have lived in cold climates, and I enjoyed the snow and rain, and the cold didn't bother me much. (Except when it was REALLY cold. ;-) )

I guess that's not much of an answer, though. I guess I would say I'd prefer to live in a cooler climate than in a very hot one.

Dr. Haran: What potency of Hypericum?

Thanks so much!

Also, this question is to any homeopath / doctor / expert etc. who reads this.

Do you agree or disagree that I am a Medorrhinum? Why or why not?

Thanks!!

If you are about to choose a remedy based only on totality of your symptoms, then after a repertorization there are two remedies basically tied on the top of the list: Arsenicum Album and Phosphorus.

But repertorization is not all, so I read all your messages and considered every little detail such as your inclination to rub the top of your head, your desire for wine, traveling, your dislike for sweets, you being friendly etc. and I made a conclusion that you have very strong signs that Phosphorus is your constitutional remedy but that could not be the end yet.

If you read only mental symptoms which is your current main problem from both phosphorus and arsenicum you'll see that you relate (I'm assuming) much more to arsenicum mentals. So it's like Phosphorus is the essence and covers 80% of the whole case but that's still not enough on deciding to make a selection, and the remaining 20% could be Arsenicum or other remedy. To put this in another words:
It's very likely that you have another layer on the top of your constitution, and that should be removed first. This layer would have appeared from 8 years back when you first started having panic attacks. So it would be great if you knew the cause and what triggered this. Any major life event 8 years ago?

Do you get my point?

You need to find your simillimum first, then your constitutional after. If your simillimum and constitutional happens to be the same remedy, then better for you.

In terms of totality of your symptoms, Medorrhinum would not even appear on the top 10 remedies and also it's a nosode I think this should be the very last option. After you've decided and are sure of your selection, I'd recommend you the 1M potency single dose.

Interesting....

So what do you think I should do/take/whatever right now? Do you agree with Dr. Haran on the Hypericum?

Thanks so much!!

You can try a single dose of Phosphorus 1M. There's no need for repetition. You should wait and watch. If this is your simillimum then you would see some improvement within the first week.

Again, even if that didn't work I still believe this remedy would be essential later on. In that case you may have as a plan B, Arsenicum Album 1M single dose. I just wanted to mention that they are both compatible and complement each other, though keep in mind that you shouldn't take two remedies at the same time. Always one at the time.

I don't think Hypericum would be the right choice for you. Please be cautious on advising remedies to other people on the other posts. Take care of yourself first, then you will be more able to help others after.

Raphael,

Thanks so much for the reply. The thing is, I've already taken Arsenicum Album, but in a much smaller potency (30c). And it did nothing. Zero. If it were my simillimum, wouldn't it do something, anything, even at that small dose?

(But its true I have not yet tried Phosphorus. I bought it, at 30c potency, but I never took it.)

Also, I took Conium 200c, and that did a LOT. It probably removed one of those layers or something. But then of course it wore off or something and I was very sick again.

So basically I don't know where I am right now. It's so very frustrating, especially since there are so many conflicting viewpoints!! I thought homeopathy was supposed to be simpler than this.

What do you think?

Thanks again,
Tatiana

Homeopathy may seem a little complex when you try on your own, that's why there're good competent classical homeopaths that you can pay for.

When you get a great response from a remedy like you did with Conium, it means that this was/is your simillimum. This remedy was prescribed for you mainly based on your breast tenderness during period. Is this problem back again? In case of yes, don't worry because this remedy is still your simillimum.

Every remedy repeated in a specific potency too frequent (say 3 times is already a lot) it stops working. Specially when you try again after you have interrupted the treatment. The next dose will not find any difference on the vital force because the previous one has already done its job and that's why was invented the medicinal solution, so you can slightly raise the potency by succussion prior to the dose.

If that's your case, just let me know I can explain you here how to make it. It does work.

If this problem is completely gone then you could try Phosphorus.

Write some detail about the urine and stool(appearance, consistency, regularity, quantity)?
Describe ur appetite, digestion, and number of meals u take in a day?
What type of infections u had in past?

Dr.Tahira

Dr Tahira last decade
Dr. Tahira,

You replied. Hallelujah!!

Urine: Very frequent. Probably because I drink a lot (a real lot) of water. Its even more frequent if I drink beer, of course.

Frequent urging. Sometimes I have a very extreme urge to urinate which is a problem when I'm trying to go somewhere or run errands. Also I sometimes feel like I need to use the bathroom, and then I find there is only a little urine or even none at all.

Usually it is clear, unless I take vitamins (once in awhile lately I take B vitamins). Then its yellow. Sometimes it smells yeasty, but not usually.

Stool: One to 3 times per day. About half the time, it's er.., banana or cucumber shaped, medium to dark brown, and easy to pass. The other half the time it is usually too soft. Sometimes, but rarely, it is black and hard.

Appetite: Good, but I have trouble eating (gathering the will to eat, or to get up and get something to eat) when I'm very depressed. All too often I only eat one meal a day. Then I get ravenously hungry in the evening, am too tired to cook anything, and I end up eating junk food (potato chips). [Which reminds me, I better make something to eat as soon as I'm done with this email.] I do try to eat more, and am proud of myself when I do eat 2 or 3 meals a day. I think I feel happier and better overall when I eat.

Also, my appetite is much decreased when I'm on my period. (I still try to get in at least 1 decent meal a day, though.)

Digestion: Seems good. I don't really feel like I have heartburn or stomachaches much. Rarely, like when I have the flu, but that's pretty much it.

Past infections: I had really bad sinus infections about 8 years ago (around the same time this whole problem started). I had never had that kind of thing before – I had never taken penicillin before, because I never needed to. (Though some years before that I did take antibiotics for acne.) I would get a very bad sinus infection (at least that what I think/thought it was) and it wouldn't go away, and I would get a prescription from my Dr. for Amoxocillin. Then it might go away for a week or two or three, and then it would come back, just as bad or worse. And I'd have to go back to my doctor and get another prescription. And then another, for more, stronger antibiotics. Soon enough, she didn't want to give me any more prescriptions for antibiotics, and she said maybe I had something else, or something. I'm not really sure what she said, because it didn't really make sense to me. I think neither of us (neither my doctor nor I) knew what was wrong. But anyways after awhile, they finally went away. But for about 6 months it seemed like I was having a very bad sinus infection like every couple of weeks. It was awful.

I had the Chicken Pox as a child. I was vaccinated for most other viruses (measles, mumps, rubella, whatever) as a small child or baby.

If you need any more info, please let me know. And Thank You So Much for replying -- I really have a lot of confidence in you. (If only you weren't so busy!! ;-) )

Looking forward to hear your reply,
Tatiana

What is the most worse time in day or night for u,in other words what is ur time of agg?
Do u have some sort of fix thoughts in mind?
What factors increase ur anxiety or depression?
Are u a forgiving person or keep it in mind?
Any particular sensation in body?
Are u hot or chilly?

Dr.Tahira

Dr Tahira last decade
Dear Dr. Tahira,

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I really appreciate it.

Worst time of day or night... Hmm...

You know, some of these questions are a bit hard to answer because my symptoms have changed so much in the past several months (and several years, and even several weeks). But I'll do my best.

So here goes.

1. Time of agg: Lately, I have been getting more depressed in the late afternoon/evening/night. (I try to stave this off by going out and dancing or meeting friends.) I get sore throats and headaches upon waking in the morning. And I just hate to wake up in the morning (I always have). I'm definitely not a morning person. Usually, and definitely before I got sick, I was a night person. Happier at night, less symptoms (I presume), and I never (still) want to go to sleep! So my answer would be morning.

2. Fixed thoughts in mind: Well, I am and have always been very open-minded. I'm that way naturally, and I work to keep an open mind as well. For example, I am not rigid in my thinking against (or for) people with varying sexual preferences (e.g., homosexuality), various races, religions, etc. I actually try to learn about different ideas and beliefs, because I find that oftentimes they can be interesting and wise. And I am a very curious person. Now, sometimes I get a thought stuck in my head, like who should be the next President of the United States, but then, don't we all sometimes?? ;-) So my answer would be no – no fixed thoughts in my mind.

3. Factors that increase anxiety or depression: I've come to the conclusion that its different for both. I often get very anxious when I go places, even to the grocery store just down the street, when I'm at my worst. But I get very depressed when I can't go places, and when I'm bored, lonely (lonely is a big one), depressed (depression leads to more depression), that kind of thing. And of course my anxiety and depression are always worse just before and during my period. So my answer would be: Anxiety – worse going places. Depression – worse not going places, loneliness. Both – worse before and during period.

4. Forgiveness vs. holding a grudge: Of course I try to be a forgiving person. And I think I am. I know holding things in is bad for my health. I guess it depends on the severity of the offense, but I can usually forgive. But sometimes it's hard. And it depends on my mental state as well – if I'm depressed, tense or angry, I am less apt to forgive. So I guess my answer would be, for smaller, more everyday things, I'm forgiving. For bigger things (such as when my “very best friend” of 10 years turned against me at the worst possible time), it takes awhile.

5. Sensation in body: I'm not sure if I understand the question. Other than my symptoms (for example, right now I have menstrual cramps, does that count?), I would say no. I don't have any weird sensations like some I've read about on the site – bugs crawling up and down my legs, my legs turning to ice, feeling out of my body, etc. So I suppose my answer is no.

6. Hot or chilly: I live in the desert, and I think when I answered this question before on this forum (a question from another homeopath) I may have said I was a hot person. But truthfully, that's only when its very hot here. Usually I am a chilly person, and I feel better when I go inside where its warm. (Note: I like it to be warm, not hot!! Not 100-110 degrees F!!) But I am definitely not a sun-worshipper. I love the rain, hate the wind, and delight in a rare snow. But in all honesty I would say that I am definitely a chilly person.

Thanks so much, and let me know if you have any more questions. I am always so happy to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Tatiana

Hi,

Well, I went off my antidepressents (Zoloft and Lamictal) on your advice, back when I was feeling much better from taking Conium.

Now I'm very depressed again. My doctor prescribed Lexapro. Should I take it? Or, what should I do?
