sudden hearing loss
had sudden hearing loss 10-14-2008 i had the steroidsthe injections and anti virals
so far i have back about 10-15 percent hearing back. i had no hearing in my right ear.
so the otologist doctor has pretty much told me time will tell if more hearing will return. my question is has anyone continued to get more hearing back after seven weeks ? i have the loud ringing still. i go to the veterans hospital 12-10 to get fited for a new hearing device. thank god i have the veterans affairs, my private insurance does not cover any hearing devices..........
so i feel happy for that. i think with my shl some days i feel i hear a little better
and some days not so well.
i was just wondering if i will continue getting small amounts of hearing back in time, well at least is that possible ?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
also can anyone tell me other than vit e, what might be available to maybe help restore hearing ?
it has been over 7 weeks and the doc has given up i guess.
i still have a pack of prednisome at the pharmacy but at this point i am not sure if it would help after all these weeks...........
anyway all of you have a great holiday.....

Hello randy
You may try remedy named chenopodium 30c in wet dose(refer these forums or my earlier posts from my profile to know how to make this) for some weeks. It can help whatever it can to restore your hearing.

Finally found a cure - so I'm sharing with as many people as I can in the hopes it will help someone.
In 2006 I suffered a 60db single-sided sudden sensorineural hearing loss, followed later by vertigo attacks and a diagnosis of Menieres Disease. I have since made a *full* recovery after suffering for 3 years. In my case these symptoms were the result a food allergy (which I have also recovered from).
I created a web site to document my own experience since it appears most ENTs have little idea about simple allergies (e.g. food, environmental) as one possible cause of significant & sudden hearing loss. [I can't post the URL on this site directly, but my user profile has it]
It includes scans of my hearing tests & allergy results.
( the House Ear Clinic - is an example of a medical practice that acknowledges the connection between allergies and hearing disorders. )
Good Luck & get well soon!
