Green Stool

My son came home from college and has been complaining of stomach aches at school and one day was followed by neon green stool. What could have caused this. He did not eat any greens, candy or sweets, nothing with food coloring.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
The medicine 'X-RAY' has green discharges.

Food color does not determine color of stool. Color of stool is the result of secretion of enzymes in the digestive tract.

Out of curiosity as to how Dr. Amit suggested x-ray I went to the following page

There under the head

Green -- Acon., Æth., Ant. t., Apis, Arg. n., Ars., Bell., Bor., Bry., Calc. ac., Calc. c., Calc. p., Cham., Col., Crot. t., Dulc., Elat., Gamb., Gels., Grat., Gummi, Hep., Iodof., Ipec., Iris, Kreos., Laur., Mag. c., Merc. c., Merc. d., Merc. v., Mez., Paul., Phos., Pod., Puls., Sal. ac., Sanic., Sec., Sul., Tab., Val., Ver. a.

The above remedies are given.
