Thanks Simone and Joe. My earlier question was bearing 'type 2 diabetes' in mind. Again the use of Arnica in reducing blood sugar has been reported and I read about it in multiple posts on the forum.

Is this reduction in blood sugar levels seen only in fasting sugar or post prandial (2 hours after meals) as well? Thanks again.

I hope that you are aware that I was the first homeopath to have discovered this fact of Arnica helping to reduce BS levels in both Type I and II Diabetics. It is not referred to in the standard textbooks and it is my hope that it will be in future editions.

It is usual in the treatment of Diabetes that if the FBS is shown to have been reduced by the Arnica the PP BS will also follow.

I hope that the classical homeopath from Brisbane who is ever critical of my Joepathy will read this thread and comment on it.

The short answer is NO.

Diabetes can only be controlled in the manner that Metformin does and you will have to take the Arnica for life.

I do have one case who was originally a Type I Diabetic whom I have treated with Arnica 6c who seems to have been cured as he does not have to take it anymore.

I have however cautioned him to take one dose nightly just to be safe rather than being sorry.

I am Samarjit Pasayat, aged about 70 years, not a practicing homeopath, and my knowledge of homeopathy is very limited. I do a little bit of experimenting on myself, and accidentally stumbled upon a remedy for diabetes. The details are given hereunder.

I have been taking tablets for diabetes since 1994, and insulin since 2005. I take medicines for hypertension also. I had tried several herbs and ayurvedic medicines to control blood sugar without any significant result.

In August 2010, I had night cough at about 2.00 AM, so I decided to take Nat.Sulph 200. I took one drop of Nat.Sulph 200 in empty stomach early in the morning for 3 days. On the 4th day severe hypoglycemia occurred at mid-day before lunch. Hypoglycemia also occurred early in the morning. In those days, I could not attribute the cause of hypoglycemia to Nat. Sulph. I thought it was caused by a medicine that I took for controlling hypertension.

Again in December 2010, I took Nat Sulph 200 for controlling night cough, and again hypoglycemia occurred at mid day before lunch. By this time, I guessed that Nat. Sulph 200 might be the cause of reduction of level of blood sugar.
In spite of my taking the recommended dose of insulin, sometimes my fasting blood sugar becomes higher ( in the range of 160-180). I take Nat Sulph 200 for 2 days and monitor my fasting blood sugar till it comes down to 90-100. Then I reduce my insulin dose by 1 unit, till sugar level increases to 130 level, again I take Nat Sulph 200 for a day or two to get FBS down to 90-100. Thus, I have been able to take less insulin.

I have observed that one drop of Nat Sulph 200 taken in empty stomach early in the morning is very effective in bringing down level of blood sugar. This should not be taken for more than two days at a stretch, and without expert advice. It is warned that severe hypoglycemia may occur.

Since I am an amateur, I am not in a position to recommend how frequently Nat Sulph 200 should be taken. Besides, there are type -1 and type -2 diabetics. So, the medicine can be taken once a week, or twice/thrice a week depending on severity and simultaneously insulin can be gradually withdrawn.

The purpose of my publication of this observation is to bring it to the notice of expert homeopaths and registered practitioners who can verify the findings and use it as a low-cost remedy for diabetes. May there be a diabetes free world.

( I shall feel obliged if you find this information useful and whether the remedy can be successfully used for controlling diabetes. )

Thank you for recording your experience with Nat Sulph 200c. It is interesting to note that you have taken just one drop on an empty stomach for 3 days and that you discovered that your Blood Sugar level dropped to Hypoglycemic levels. Did you record for how long this level was maintained and have you continued to use it in the manner that you have done to lower the units of Insulin that you are using daily?

Your discovery will help other homeopaths to use it and verify if this remedy has the same effect on their Diabetic patients.

Have you tried Arnica 3c in the Wet dose?

At the outset, let me express my gratitude for your interest in the topic. You seem to a serious homeopathic practitioner and researcher.
1) I am 70 yr old. So I don't allow myself to remain in hypoglycemia,lest I would collapse causing panic among family members. So I take glucose added to fruit juice within 10-15 minutes of hypoglycemia.
2) After taking Nat. Sulph 200 for 2-3 days, subnormal levels of FBS ( 75-85 )appear and remain for 2-3 days more. At that point I reduce my insulin dose. If I would not reduce my insulin dose, perhaps low BS may continue longer.
3) Sorry Joe, I have not tried Arnica 3 on myself

I take compride 80 and diapro 30 at morning and at evening. But my blood sugar not in control. Before taking meal at morning that is 13 and random15 to 17. I also take acid phos 30 and insulin 30 but NP change. Actually which remedy can control bus?

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in the Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done at least 6 times before sipping a capful of the bottle as prescribed.

Please follow the following restrictions which are essential to ensure that the remedy prescribed is not antidoted:

Do not use Coffee, Cola beverages, preserved foods like sausages, ham and bacon as they contain Saltpeter.

Dear Joe, I am 38 years old. Since 2008 I carry diabetics. My weight is 74 kg. I married. 2 child age 8 and 3. Regular I do exercise at least 30 m. I m footballer. Now not playing. Diabetic is my mother side. The hole family of my mom side carry diabetic. My sister and brother also carry this. They r 45 and 42 years old. My random bs is around 15. Before break past that is 13. I take morning glicazide 80 and at night glicazide 30. Result not good. I also take homeopathy insulin 30 double time and acid phos same time. Dose r 1 tube as doctor prescribe. Not seen improve bs.

Take inula racemosa Q. Or powdered fenugreek after each meal.

Avoid high carb diets and do moderate excercises like climbing staircases thrice a day.

I think we need to understand firstly the basic difference between Type 1 & type 2 diabetes.
In case of Type 1 the most important harmone INSULIN is not produced at all. Whereas in case of Type 2 the insulin is produce very less than requirement of the body or the metabolic defect develops a resistance for whatever little Insulin is produced become useless.
Now coming to the function of Insulin, it is not only to reduce the sugar level in the blood but it also works in synchronicity with other enzymes for the well being of the body. Implied it clearly means that only controlling blood sugar level is not the cure of diabetes.
As for treatment in case of Type 1 diabetes the replacement therapy by injecting Insulin is the only way out since the insulin is not produced at all due to sick pancreas. Whereas in case of type 2 diabetes the residual insulin is made effective by drugs & that too are not curative but just palliatives.
Or we can say that these drugs help in optimal use of whatever the little amount of insulin is available.
Therefore my humble submission is that in case of type 1 diabetes we may be able to reduce the blood sugar level but it is very risky matter to reduce or stop taking insulin. As this is a replacement therapy.
It can create unmanageable situations like Ketosis resulting into acidosis & even coma & other dangerous complications.
Let us all be aware that reduction of blood sugar level is just one of the favourable symptom but many other untoward harms are also to be prevented. This is the main reason we say type 2 is non- insulin dependent diabetes & type 1 is always Insulin dependent one.
To my credit, I confess that till date I have not succeeded even in a single diabetic case which I can claim as cured.
