Stomach Pains--8 yrs. old

Hi,
I'm new to the forum! My daughters is 8, and for the past couple of months she will wake up during the night saying her stomach hurts. She doesn't throw up, nor does she have a fever or diahera(sorry i don't know how to spell!). She will be nine in November. She has recently started growing pubic hair, and I have noticed that her nipples have changed. I'm just confused, because she is my first and only child. Could she be having pre-menstrual cramps? I have noticed her mood changing lately also. When she complains of her stomach pains, she wants me to rub her stomach. I gave her a heating pad the other night, and told if she woke up again to use it and see if that helps. I would greatly appreciate some advice and knowledge!!!
