Acid RefluxDear Dr Joe
I was impressed with your responses on abchomeopathy for a host of problems.
Let me introduce myself - I am a male 45 yrs age, weight 63 Kg, Height 5 ft 8 Inch, from Mumbai India.
Since last 4/5 months I have been suffering from acid reflux. I consulated couple of renowned Gastroentrologist. Did endoscopy. Doctors put me on Omeprazole for roughly 2.5 months in addition to H. Pylori medicines. While taking the medicines things were perfectly alright. Whenever I would discontinue the Omeprazole, reflux sysmptom restarts again.
After 1 to 3 hrs of taking food, I feel burning sensation in food pipe. Appetite is normal. I feel thirsty even after drinking plenty of water.
Tried consulting good Homeopathic Doc in Mumbai. Couldn't get appointment with good Homepaths as they are booked until July 2010.
I was looking for solutions for the above problems and that is how I came across your responses on above site.
I tried the Nat Phos 6 X ( 3 times) and it seems that it is helping me, though it is premature to declare that it has worked. With Nat Phos I have reduced Omeprazole 1 time a day since last one week. From today morning, I have completely stopped Omeprazole and am taking Nat phos 6x. 3 times a day.
Would you kndly advise me the right doses or any other suitable medicines for the above problem.
Should I take Nat Phos 4 times a day in the beginning for a week and then reduce it to 3 times a day.
Should it be taken after every meal or with fixed time intervals.
How long should I take it?
I'll be grateful, if you could guide me with your enormous experience.

I am glad to note that you have already started on my Joepathy for your GERD and that you have observed in just a few days that your symptoms have been helped. I note however that you have not as yet taken the Arnica 30c in the Wet dose which I have prescribed in every thread for GERD and you may add this remedy to your Nat Phos. Nat Phos works in cases of GERD by accelerating the passage of food down the gut thereby preventing the secretion of excess HCl which when coupled with the Enzymes found in Gastric Juice tend to be regurgitated up the Esophagus creating that awful burning sensation in your chest which is sometimes mistaken for a Heart Attack.
Arnica will help to rebuild the tissue that has been eroded in your Esophagus which is the reason for your
You can take up to 4 tablets immediately after every meal but if you are taking just 2 tablets and have found relief you can continue with the lower dosage as the idea is to permit the body to operate on its own as early as is possible without the assistance of even Nat Phos 6x which you may like to know is Sodium Phosphate potentized to a Millionth of the original salt.
NP is best taken immediately after a meal 2-3 times daily and the dose for Arnica is twice daily.
Do not drink more than a sip of water after a meal as this tends to dilute the gastric juice which leads to more problems.
Do not go to bed after dinner for at least 2 hours to permit the food to digest which is best done when you are upright.
Exercise is essential and you must drink up to 3lt of liquids daily.
I would like to mention in closing that all PPI's (Proton Pump Inhibitors) like the Omeprazole you have been taking, have been discovered to be dangerous when used for any lengthy periods as they are habit forming and also cause neurological problems which are permanent.
The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:
Order the remedy in a 5ml Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you take a capfull which is the dose. Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before a capful of the bottle is sipped as directed.
