Hyper Acidity

Problem : Severe acidity from the past 1.5 years with a feeling of heaviness in the stomach and the stomach appears to have been bloated. Because of this appetite is low. Once in every two to three days I feel like vomiting to relieve my stomach. For this I take butter milk or tender coconut water and all the acid comes out after 10 to 20 mins of taking butter milk or coconut water. The fluid coming out is acidic that it causes a sore throat for me.
When the acidity is high, I dont get deep sleep, I feel as if I am still awake with eyes closed, I get dreams continuously and inspite of sleeping for 8 hours I feel that I couldnot sleep properly.
I also get headaches in the evenings because of acidity and once vomited everything would be fine. If I delay the vomits by a day or so, I get red color fluid at the end of vomit which is very very acidic. The vomits are atleast half a mug ful.
I dont have pain in the stomach, but I can feel there is another heart beat like thing in the stomach which I can feel constantly and in the nights I can feel my forehead/brain nervers stressed, If I put my finger just above my ears I can feel my nerves constantly expanding and contracting.

Reasons that I think could be:
- I have moved to a new job where the nature of responsibilities are high and I can see that the acidity is high when I am stressed out more.
- I am also driving to office which takes me 45 mins and the traffic is so bad that I get stressed even more.
- Acidity increases when I eat 'new' rice but am comfortable with 'old' rice
- When I eat sweets, acidity increases. Previosuly I didnot have a liking toward sweets, but from the time I started having acidity problem, I seem to have a liking for sweets.

About me:
- I am 33, male, 5'6', 62 kgs
- I am not a alcoholic or a smoker. I dont take Coffee, tea also. Once a while I take milk. I drink around 3 lts of water every day.
- I dont have any water during meals. If I take 2 or 3 sips also, I feel discomfort after the meals, I can feel the refluxes. Previously, before this problem started I used to take two glasses of water during meals with out any problems. Now even a sip is a strict no.
- Cool drinks is a strict no for me, if I take cool drinks or icecreams I can expect acidity the next morning.
- I do yoga (surya namaskara) and pushups in the morning. If I miss this, I feel heaviness in the stomach.
- I usually feel the acidity more in the evenings (and the urge to vomit). Sometimes I also feel it in the nights and the next day mornings are drowsy. I dont feel like getting up from my seat and moving around
- In the evenings when I have acidity I feel irritated and get anger with a slight provocation.
- My nights are worse when I acidity is severe, I dont get a deep sleep.
- Urine and stool are normal

Diagnosis underwent (around 6 months back):
- Endoscopy : Result - negative
- Ultrasound scanning: Result - negative
- The allopathic doctor told me based on the above tests that I dont have any ulcers but my digestive system is very poor. The endoscopy test reports say there are some erruptions on the lower part of oesophagus. The allpathic doctor prescribed pantocid dsr in the mornings for one month. I continued that and during that month - I was kind of ok, but not 100% cured. after that month, the problem started again.

Homeopathy treatment:
- I consulted a homeo doctor near my house and continue medicines for around 3 weeks with no result
- Then I consulted another doctor in homeopathy but I have to travel for 30 kms. I have been taking medicines with him from the past 1 month. The acidity seems to be under control, now the vomits happen less frequently - once a week. However if I take sweets, I get sour/acidic vomits immediately next day.

I am finding it difficult to travel 30kms everyweek and its one month that I have continued the medication. I feel that the medicines are controlling the acid that is generated but are not curing the root cause of why the acids are generated in excess.

I dont overeat, but have 4 hours gap between my breakfast and lunch and around 7 hours gap between lunch and dinner. I take some snacks between my lunch and dinner.

Please advise me what medication to be taken.

Thank you very much,
Chinna

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
day 1
Please take one dose of Nux Vomica 1M

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 4 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 3-4 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.

day 2 to day 15
Please take 2 pellets each of the following tissue salts thrice a day at a gap of 4 hours
natrum sulph 6x
natrum phos 6x

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

Please report after 15 days.

Please read my posts on the breathing exercises called as Kapalbhati Pranayam and Anulom Vilom Pranayam by following the links given below. Please practise these pranayams regularly for half an hour preferably in a garden early in the morning. You may practise at any other convinient time. The only restriction that you have to follow is not to do these exercises within 4 hours after meals. You can have meals not within 15 minutes after finishing these exercises.

Dear Dr Abhishek,
I have started taking BC 25 and R 5, however I am having breathing problems if I take R 5. Previously also, whenever I had any of the R's I used to have breathing problem. I stopped taking R 5 and am alright now. I am continuing to take BC25. I can say that the nausea is not that bad. Do you recommend any other medicine in the place of R5 for faster healing? I am comfortable with pellets but anything in liquid I am allergic.

thanks,
Chinna

Good Afternoon Dr Abhishek,
I have this breathing problem from the past 15 years. Its not chronic but occurs because of some of the things that I am allergic to (e.g. strong deodorants, strong smell of medicines, etc).
Basically my normal breaths are not complete and I have to take a very long breath once in a while to compensate my incomplete normal breaths. Its kind of difficult to explain this.

Can you suggest any other alternative to the R's.

Thanks,
Srikanth

Dr Abhishek,

I have taken BC25 (completed one bottle) and I saw marginal improvement. I couldnot start Lycopodium as I couldnot get it in nearby stores.
However I got Nixocid (from SBL - contains Nat Phos 6x, Lycopodium clavatum, Carb V 9x, Robina pseudoacacia 6) 3-4 days back and I am taking 2 pills 3 times a day as mentioned on the bottle. I am seeing good relief from acidity now. Should I continue this? If so for how long? Do you suggest any other medicines along with this?

Thanks,
Srikanth

Dear chinna77,good to see that you are having improvement & marginal improvement in severe acidity also is a good sign, you may continue BC 25 & NIXOCID ,nixocid contains lycopodium so it is the reason for relief,as you are having breathing problems with R series so continue Nixocid & BC 25 FOR ATLEAST 3 MONTHS & revert back.

Dear Dr. Abhishek,

I am having ACIDITY, FLATULENCE, INDIGESTION problems and i have started taking BC 25, i have read in the post that i should avoid coffee, I usually drink green tea twice a day, should I stop green tea or I can drink it with this medicine.

Also i have another question, my mother is a Stroke paitient and recently i we have done stem cell treatment for her she is paralyzed on both sides but she is consicous but cannot talk. Somone had suggested me to start cell salt treatement for her so we are giving her a combination of all 12 cell salts (Not sure of the BC No) 4 tabs 3 times daily. I would like to know is there any specific cell salts which we can give her with regards to paralysis or the combination is good, if any specific then which once and what dosage.

Thanks
Asif

I am copying my standard therapy for GERD.

It is very likely that you are suffering from GERD (Gastro Esophagal Reflux Disease) due to the Gastric Juice in your stomach refluxing up to your throat thereby causing the symptoms that you suffer from today.

Your remedies are as follows:

Nat Phos 6x dose 3-4 tablets taken immediately after each of 2 meals
Arnica 30c in the Wet dose taken twice daily.

You can expect relief from your ailment hopefully within 24 hours.
Do not eat large meals. Eat small meals but more often if you feel hungry.
No fatty food, alcohol, coffee, preserved meats like sausages, ham, bacon as they contain Saltpeter which will antidote the remedies listed immediately.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in a 5ml Ethanol pack also referred to as Liquid Dilution in a bottle preferably with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake the bottle hard before you sip a capfull of the bottle or a large teaspoonful which is the dose.
Shaking the bottle hard is homeopathic succussion and this shaking must be done every time before sipping a capful of the bottle twice daily.

Type GERD into the Search box on every page to read the many cases that I have treated on the ABC.
