Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering? Sleep Apnea

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body? Occasional Angina pain (triggered by mental stress), join pain (mainly knee) and asthma (in control without medication) . Hair loss/bald patches (perhaps hereditary) . Blood pressure is normal and not diabetic.
3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings? Some anxiety/worry and stress

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? Describe the sensation in your own words. Breathing stops suddenly during Sleep resulting in discomfort and loss of sleep. This result in sleepiness during the day and lightness of the head.(and headache some time)

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease? It was noted about a month back but perhaps it was existing (with low intensity) earlier also as I was feeling tiredness in the morning (but no day time sleepiness).

6. Which time of the day you are worst? Entire night (during sleep)

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? Example- time, temperature, pressure, rubbing, washing, eating, tight clothing etc. Nothing specific

8. Do you think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)? Nothing specific but it may be linked to age

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather? I enjoy cold weather over hot weather and do not particularly like hot weather with high humidity as it results in excessive sweating and headache (due to dehydration)

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc. I am sensitive/emotional . I do argue (if I feel that I am right) and do not like surrendering easily. Feel offended when under attack. Generally active. Get tense quite easily and feel angry (though I do not express it). Introvert and do not mix up easily with others. Not many friends but enjoy company of females over males. Do not like public speaking. I am impatient most of the time. Feel frustrated and angry when I see somebody doing injustice or wrongdoing with others. I also shy away from taking major decisions and try to postpone them.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm? Nothing specific

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times? Yes
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? I like perfumes and music. Blue is my favorite color.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless Weeping, talking to one self etc? No

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife? I do not have many friends which I always miss. I am very attached to my wife and children.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly? I really fear death and being alone at old age. I also fear getting trapped in confined space (which is perhaps linked to fear of chocking).

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions? I like salty/spicy food and sweet. I do not enjoy non-vegetarian food and alcohol. Taking controlled diet for about 5 years with no fried/junk food.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive? I guess normal (about 1 liter/day except in summer when I drink double of it).

14. How is your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive? Normal

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand? No

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? More particularly in hot/humid weather. It sweat more on head.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type? Normal

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping? Even before the episode of sleep apnea, I used to sleep very light (disturbed very easily with noise)

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general? Yes

20. Do you have any strange, peculiar or unusual symptom or feelings? How are you different from others? No

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication? I have not taken any medicine for sleep apnea. I am taking some Ayurvedic/herbal medicines to improve blood circulation and joint pain. These have not resulted in any new symptom.

22. What major diseases are running in your family? Asthma (from father side) and diabetes (type 2) (from mother side). Elder brother has high BP.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance. Average
(For Females)
24. If your menstrual cycles are not normal, please describe the irregularities, like pains, moods, flow type, clots etc. Not applicable

25. What major diseases have you had in your life and when. Please write them in a chronological manner. Nothing apart from angina which was detected almost 3 years back but is under control with regular exercising (walking on treadmill for 30 minutes daily) and herbal medication

I will be grateful for suggestions.

Please take three doses of Calcarea Carb 200 as follows and report back after 15 days.

Thanks for quick reply. I have started medication.

In this forum, LACHESIS was earlier recommonded for sleep apnea. Is it advisable to take LACHESIS also in my case?

Sverma last decade
Let us see how you respond to calc carb. Lachesis may be considered later.

I wanted to provide some feedback in the interim. Though the number of episodes of sleep apnea appears to be reduced after taking Cal Carb 200, I still get up many times during the night because of sudden stopping of breath (I feel like jerks during the sleep). I am not sure whether presence of mucus in throat is aggravating the obstruction. Any further advice on treatment?

Sverma last decade
Please repeat three doses of Calc Carb 200 if you think that there is a relapse.
If there is no relapse you should not take Calc Carb 200.
If you think that presence of mucus in throat is aggravating the obstruction, please take 2 pellets each of the following tissue salts (in all 6 pellets at a time) thrice a day at a gap of atleast 4 hours for few days....
natrum sulph 6x
kali mur 6x
ferrum phos 6x

Please observe homeo restrictions.

I am reporting back after completion of 2 weeks since I started medication. I repeated Calc Carb during last weekend but did not take tissue salts as mucus was perhaps linked to viral flu, which is now subsiding. The problem of sleep apnea is definitely reduced but is not completely cured (now I do not notice stopping of breath during the first 4-5 hours of sleep but thereafter there are episodes of sudden stopping of breath resulting in loss of sleep). I still feel sleepiness and dizziness sometimes during the day time but it is better than pre-treatment period. I will be grateful for your advice on further course of action.

Patient,

Please be first happy for what Dr. Kadwa has made it for you until now. You say your problem reduced, how ever minimum. I know how great result this is in the medical community. There is almost no medicine in the allopathic world even to make 10% difference. Please be pround and happy.

Follow Dr. Kadwa's advice with some patience and he should make more improvements for you.

I completely agree and I am really thankful to Dr.Kadwa for taking interest in my case.

Again let us follow our earlier plan.....

Please repeat three doses of Calc Carb 200 if you think that there is a relapse.
If there is no relapse you should not take Calc Carb 200.

You may report after one month.

Patients who are doing there cases on-line are doing the noble work of taking the wonderful science of homeopathy to people at large. So they deserve all appreciation.

Dr.Kadwa,

I have experienced relapse 5-6 days after taking three doses of Calc Carb 200. Do you advise increasing the potency?

Sverma last decade
Please take a single dose of Calc Carb 1M. You may repeat it after one week if there is a relapse. Please report after one month.

Thanks. I need another clarification. Whether the homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes is applicable only on the day of taking medicines or during entire treatment period? Also whether Tea can be taken on the day of taking medicine (after or before one hour)?

Sverma last decade
Ques: Whether the homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes is applicable only on the day of taking medicines or during entire treatment period?
Ans: Preferably over entire treatment period, but strictly on the day of taking medicines.

Ques: Whether Tea can be taken on the day of taking medicine (after or before one hour)?
Ans: Yes.

Dr.Kadwa,

I experience occassional mild angina pain, which is perhaps triggered by lack of sleep and stress. Would it be advisable to take CRATAEGUS OXYACANTHA mother tincture to treat this (if it does not interfere with Calc Carb)? If yes, what dose and how long?

Sverma last decade
Please take a single dose of Bryonia 30 whenever you get angina pain.

kadwa last decade
Dr.Kadwa,

I am reporting after completion on one month. I still get some apnea episodes during early morning (say after 4 AM), though it is not relapse. I will be grateful for your further advice.

Sverma last decade
Please continue with Calc Carb 1M and Bryonia 30. Please note that the remedies are to be taken only when there are symptoms and not otherwise.

kadwa last decade
Dr.Kadwa,

Calc Carb 1M does not appear to be working anymore as all original symptoms have come back. Should I restart with lower potency of the medicine?

Sverma last decade
Please go back to Calc Carb 200 and see whether it helps.
