6 month old with Reflux

My 6 month old had reflux since he was 2 months old and was on Zantac since then. I decided to take him off, but his reflux symptoms came back. I was giving him lower doses than recommended too.

My 6 month old is a big boy and over 20lbs. I took him off Zantac 2 days ago and last night he'd wake up every 30 minutes and the only way to put him back down is to nurse him. Also I started him on solids 2 weeks ago.

I read that Nat Phos 6X helps, but I do not know how to give the dosage. Can someone give me some suggestions?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Give him
Natrum Phos-6x 2 pallets 3 times a day.
Give feedback after 15 days

Hi, thank you for your response. I have the same question as to when to give it. I am assuming this is given after meals?

Also, I've been giving him Chamomilla 30Ch 5pellets/3 times a day. will that be okay to take the 2 together?

Thank you.

I've been giving him Nat Phos for 15 days and ran out 2 days ago. He was doing well with it and just starting to nap better and no more arching of the back. But tonight, he started showing signs again. Because everyone at home was sick for the past 2 weeks, I couldn't respond or pick up more Nat Phos.

Should I continue giving him Nat Phos? My son is also sensitive to dairy. Whenever I eat anything with dairy, he will show signs of reflux. He hardly spits milk but it affects his sleep for sure. During the day, he doesn't nurse well.. not sure if it is because of teething or distraction or reflux, but at night he would wake up twice to nurse.

My first son had reflux well over one years old, but was the silent type as well. Is Nat Phos safe to take over a long period of time?

Thanks..

Please procure Natrum Phos-6x and start again
One more medicine you start is
Calac Carb-30 (30C) 6 pills 2 times a day.
This is in addition to Natrum Phos-6x
Please keep 30-40 miniutes gap between above two medicines.

Pl give feedback after 15 days

My son is doing a lot better, but he would spit up with apple sauce and I am still on a restrictive diet. No caffeine, dairy, pop, or acidic foods.

I am afraid to take him of Nat Phos that he might start waking up and arching his back again.

He still wakes up 2 times a night to feed and isn't so interested in nursing during the day.

1. Please continue him to give Calc Carb-30 (30c)as suggested
2. In palce of Natrum Phos-6x please give 'Compound no -25' 3 pallets 2 times every day.

Please give feedback after 15 days

Can I carry on with Nat Phos until I get the Compound no-25

Is this homeopathy as well? does it have a potency number like 30C, etc?

Thank you so much for your advice

Till you procure Compound no-25 you can carry on with Natrum Phos
It is a combination of bio-Chem salts

Hi, sorry for the late reply. We've been busy traveling and I slowly and unintentionally tappered him off Nat Phos and Calac Carb. He's reflux is cured!! Thank you so much!!

Also, I am weaning him off breastfeeding to formula. He does well with formula and occasionally have hiccups from breastmilk. I have too much sugar in my diet.

Thank you again.

For help until the homeopathic works on the deaper issue - my 6 month old had acid reflux until she was 10 months from surgery she had. We gave her baking soda - about 1/8th tsp in water about 3 times per day away from food. She was having insomnia and she started sleep within one day. when we took her for follow up at the Sick Kids Hospital, they knw all about it and the surgeon told me to give her more than we had been giving her. 2 weeks solid and then as needed. She hasn't had reflux since.

Angelica,

Thanks for the posting. I've heard of baking soda and wasn't too sure about it.

I forgot to mention that my son seem to react more to foods like apples and tomatoes and my breastmilk.

The homeopathy worked well, but it was tough to go out and pick some up. Now and then, I see a bit of reflux symptoms, but way better and tolerable.
