Well the real question is, is he worse than he was before the remedy?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
hard to say but i'd be more inclined to go towards yes as the cough seemed more aggravated last night but he is also having nice moments that quickly change so hoping i'll have more of that to come.

I just want to update really my son still isn't right and now his fever is up again and his breathing is fast again, his legs feel weak, and said his tummy hurts this is the same as before and usually the tummy hurting is he's hungry, is this the remedy working? He hasn't been right for 2.5 weeks now and has seemed better the last few days but still not right. Thank you the cough has got loose again with the fever he is very bossy and moaning about everything, even saying noises hurt his ears

Which symptoms are new?

Describe each new symptom in detail.

What makes it worse, what makes it better, what it feels like if he can communicate that, what triggers it, any colours or odours or flavors - really anything that helps to define the symptom.

He was still getting cold each evening so i guess he still had a slight fever. the cough eased and now started coming back dry at 1st and now the fever is back the cough has loosened, he didn't stop winging this morning, moaning about anything and everything driving me insane. but he is now singing in the garden again still with a high fever. and he also gets hungrier with the fever (it seems) he said his legs feel tired and soft and ache a bit so wants to slither like a snake everywhere but at the moment he has stopped complaining and is singing and doing colouring in the garden. if he cries he will cough until he is retching lots. very bossy and controlling towards his brother especially but also to me. pink face this morning but gone now. And short tempered and rude or snappy not sure which it is

Ok if I look at the following symptoms:

Appetite increased during fever
Constant complaining
Cough with retching
Domineering
Noise causes pain

The only remedy that shows for all of them is Phosphorous.

Phosphorous has a very strong fear of the dark, doesn't like being alone in the dark, often imagines seeing things in the dark. Their imagination is a problem for these children but it is always worse at night.

Phosphorous is very sensitive, oversensitive, both physically and emotionally.

Phosphorous has an aversion to fish.

Phosphorous can be rude and talk in a very bossy way. They are moody, changeable, love affection. Desires affection strongly points to either Phos, Sacc-alb, Carc or Puls.

I would suggest Phosphorous 200, given in the same way as the Calc, but one dose only.

This certainly sounds like him I think I only have a 30 is there anyway I can make it stronger and I'm ordering 200 today thank you

pixie wood last decade
Pulsatilla has worked very well for an acute before and was tempted to give it if I didn't here from you

pixie wood last decade
do i try a phos 30c or wait for 200c??

pixie wood last decade
Pulsatilla didn't really show up in my analysis.

You can try 30c right now if you have it. 200c is usually a better potency for children.

he's being lovely again this is before remedy so i want to check . could this be a aggravation to calc carb and it may still work. i still unsure of aggravations and how they work and how to tell the difference!

pixie wood last decade
During an acute, or an acute flare up of a chronic problem, it can be quite difficult to know if the patient is aggravating or just getting worse on their own. The only real way to tell is by looking for the improvement. Aggravations may also bring up old symptoms quite suddenly, which can be another confirming feature.

Typically, it is the practitioner's confidence in the remedy that keeps you with a prescription, until the improvement starts. Without that confidence it is easy to chop and change and get quite lost.

Wait and observe now.

i took him to gp twice today because of his breathing this morning they couldn't find anything but his evening a chest infection i did give phos but unfortunately i have put him on antibiotics. he very rarely has them and has only had them 4 times since birth which isn't bad compared to some kids. does this mess any homeopathy up? thank you
I should mention he has been a pleasure to be around since becoming more poorly he becomes easier to get on with he usually does!

Then it is likely the Calc is working. Giving him Phos is mostly likely going to cause problems. You should have waited as I said, even if you had to give him antibiotics. Giving him a second remedy may be more problematic.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
I'm sorry , I waited all day and when his fever hit 40 and Dr said chest infection I Gave phos and I still waited a few hours before giving antibiotics but his breathing was so bad I got worried about the night, he has woke up happy, I realise I have messed this up now. So I don't know what the next steps should be? Thanks David
I'm quite annoyed with myself now but he has never had a chest infection before and I really didn't think the aggravation would go that far eek , sorry
Oh Ian beating myself up now, this could of been the one remedy that's worked in 2 years of trying and have I messed this up now?

With both your children with this same issue (the cough) I suspect they both have the same infection. It seems alot like whooping cough.

Treating constitutionally at this stage is a mistake. Even if the deeper remedy helps it will not be as effective as the right acute remedy.

Give him Spongia 200c (or whatever you have). 200c would be my preference for any child's acute (and most acutes generally). If you only have 30c then give him 3 doses, 4 hours apart, stopping the moment he seems to get worse or if he gets very noticeably better.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
They are always getting coughs but never infections there is whooping cough about and the 2 year old has not been vaccinated, the coughs reoccur often which is why I turned to homeopathy 2 years ago my husband and I have this cough this time and we never usually catch anything, as for my 6year old today is the best he has been and his breathing seems normal finally but the coughing fits are still very bad, I did think spongia for him and I will certainly be stocking up on 200c on my remedies , thank you very much

pixie wood last decade
I would still give him the Spongia while he has respiratory symptoms. This is an opportunity to try and heal the problems in his breathing.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Ok I will give spongia as Soon as he wakes, he only has 3 days if school until Easter hols but i'm not sending him as rotavirus has hit this school hard seems to be alot around at the moment, thanks again

pixie wood last decade
update he is pretty much back to normal. fever gone breathing has been normal for a few days. i did give spongia as you asked and it was definitely spongia.
He started coughing again last night and had a huge coughing fit today which i have not seen for a while. he does still cough and cough till he is retching and almost sick when he cries (this is a long term thing) and still on exercise too,
Thank you

pixie wood last decade
Once the acute phase has passed, we can start to look at a long term solution for him.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
hey madam,If your children are critically ill especially with fever of this nature, take them to the emergency room to be examined. This could be life threatening.
I believe in homeopathy but as you know, homeopathy takes time and requires patience. Fluctuations in temperature coupled with respiratory problems is no joke.Take them to the hospital asap.I wish them good health.

veron last decade
Thanks for that but if you read throuh properly you will see that i have on a number of occasions and they were treated I used homeopathy also to speed up recovery

pixie wood last decade
Ok David what I will do is go on my laptop tomorrow and answer each question again as the acute has gone now and could get confusing so it will all be fresh!
