Influenzinum

I recently received influenzinum for the 2016 through 2017 flu season because I am wanting to take it prophylactically since, when I get the flu, I get it rather severely and would rather avoid it altogether.

My question is, how much does potency matter when it comes to the flu nosode? I notice a lot of information I've come across online says to take influenzinum 9c once a week when taking preventively. However, the influenzinum I purchased is 30c, so is it okay to still take it on a once a week schedule, or should I take it at a different interval? Also, what is significant about the 9c potency? That potency seems common for influenzinum as it is mentioned a lot.

Anyone have any input?

Instead of trying to prevent your problem seek for a solution through a constitutional treatment.

In homeopathy, "Cure is easier than prevention".

I appreciate the suggestion, but if someone wanted to use influenzinum prophylactically, does the difference in potency matter?

I bought 30c because most of the other remedies I have used were either 30c or 200c, it defaulted to 30c on the site I purchased it from, and finally because it seemed strange to me to do a dosing schedule of once a week with a potency as low as 9c, since generally you dose less frequently with higher potency, so I figured it should be AT LEAST 30c. Is my thinking correct on this?

It all actually matters on your sensitivity level to remedies and several other external factors too.

However, 30c for prevention is fine and once in fortnight dose will be better.

Okay great, thank you for the information. I appreciate it.

One final question, doctor. I know that you cannot take multiple remedies at the same time, but with a remedy like this that I only take once a fortnight, is it okay to take another remedy in between influenzinum doses? For example, I had been taking symphytum offinale as needed for bone pain from an old injury. Would it still be okay to take this as long as it isn't on the same day as my influenzinum dose, or would it interrupt the action of the influenzinum?

Why a Homeopathic dose is prescribed after long intervals is because that single dose keeps working for those many days. Every medicine has it's unique pattern of working. If any other medicine is given in the mean time it will start working in it's own way too and will interfere with the action of first one. Now, neither the first one can work in it's own way nor the second. So, net result will be other than what could be expected of either remedy.

E.g. suppose you have tuned a particular radio station to listen a melodious song and another station intersepts it. In such case, you can neither listen first one nor the second. Same thing happens when you are talking on some mobile number and another call intersepts it.

This is the reaason homeopathy doesn't support whole heartedly preventive measures unless in some exceptional cases. When you take a homeopathic constitutional treatment your constitutional medicine itself works as prevetive medicine also for you.

Unfortunately, I regret to say that even most of the qualified homeoaths also do not understand this concept and the importance of contitutional treatment. So, they often end up messing the patient's health. "Ignorance is blissful."
