Dental abscess

Hi. Am 65 & retired. I have a dental abscess underneath the jaw on left mandible directly under 2nd molar bottom left. Have had no pain in tooth or abscess. Abscess was about 2cm diameter but has now flattened after bursting thru the skin and draining over the past two months. Now has some soft tissue sticking out of it. Am advised that tooth will need to be extracted, but wish to avoid this if at all possible.
Is there any Homeopathic solution for this situation?
Would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Hi Anuj, Hope you are well.
This is a followup post after taking Silicea 3 times/day for 7 days. Abscess seems to have sunken further into jaw and soft tissue is still protruding out of the skin. No noticeable drainage, but occasional slight bleeding from soft tissue - so overall a good improvement, thank you.
Any suggestions on what I can do about the loose soft tissue sticking out of the abscess? Should I continue with the Silicea ?
Appreciate your kind assistance.
Have a lovely day.

Hi Anuj, Hope you are well.
Reporting back as 4 days now completed with Sil & Hepar Sulph 200 taken three times a day.
Abscess has flattened out and protruding soft tissue seems to have shrunken slightly which is good news, thanks. No drainage observed. Minor bleeding from soft tissue at times.
Do I continue with this until soft tissue shrinks away completely ?

Not sure if this is related. Have now observed that only at early mornings this tooth [2nd Molar bottom left] directly above the abscess, feels strange. No pain but not able to find words to describe the feeling. A couple of hours later it is normal again and remains so until the next morning.
Many thanks for your kind advice.
Have a lovely day. Regards

Hi Anuj,
Hope you are keeping well. 4th day report back with 1 daily dose of Hepar Sulph & 3 daily doses of Silicea.
Happy to be able to advise that the soft tissue has been progressively shrinking and early morning strange tenderness in 2nd molar is now less pronounced. No drain noticed in abscess. Soft tissue occasionally releases a little blood. DFo I continue with the same again ?
Appreciate all your kind advice.
Have a lovely day. Regards.

Hi Anuj.
Hope you are keeping well. This is just for your information as my previously scheduled follow-up medical review appointment had come up and took place today.
Update is as follows :- Today’s x-ray confirmed an infection just below the root of the 2nd molar [bottom left] tooth which is directly above this abscess. Was again advised this tooth is possibly dead and although abscess has flattened out & soft tissue is shrinking this will not go away unless the tooth is extracted.

Am continuing with Hepar Sulph [once/2 days] & Sil [3/day] for 4 days and as only two days on this have elapsed will revert with update at end of the 4 days. Hopefully the Homeopathic option with your kind assistance will cure the infection and save the tooth.

Many thanks. Have a lovely weekend. regards

Hi Anuj, Hope you are well.
Fourth day feedback : Have been on 1 dose of Hepar Sulph every second day & 3 daily doses of Sil. The protruding soft tissue has been shrinking further which is great, thank you. Abscess is flat. The strange early morning tenderness in 2nd molar although less pronounced is still there for a couple of hours only. Based on the x-ray taken a few days back this may well be due to some infection still remaining. Should I continue with the same again or would you wish to recommend some variation to clean up the residual infection ?
Thank you again for your kind advice. Have a great day. Regards.

Hi Anuj, Hope you are keeping well.
4th day report back: currently on 1 dose Hepar Sulph every 2 days + 3 doses of Sil daily + 3 doses of Calc Flour 12X daily.
Glad to observe that the soft tissue has shrunk a lot more. Early morning tenderness in tooth now seems like a mild toothache. It still occurs but recovers in a few hours. Strange that it only happens while sleeping/awakening. No further draining noticed. Soft tissue occasionally releases a little blood with broken tissue fragments.
Should I continue with the same again ?
Appreciate all your kind advice. Have a lovely weekend. Regards.

Hi Anuj, Hope you are well.
4th day feedback: maintaining protocol of 1 dose Hepar Sulph every 2nd day + 3 doses of Sil daily + 3 doses of Calc Flour daily. Abscess is flat and soft tissue has been fragmenting and shrinking some more which is great. It occasionally releases a little blood. After sleep tend to feel a mild toothache that now seems a bit more pronounced however it still does recovers within a few hours.
Do I continue with the same protocol?
Many thanks for all your kind advice. Enjoy your day. Regards.

HOW IS THE TOOTHACHE?THROBBING?

YES CONTINUE THE SAME PROTOCOL.

anuj srivastava 5 years ago
Hi Anuj,
Noted, will continue with protocol , thanks. No throb in toothache, just a dull constant ache/pain for a few hours after waking up. Then clears by itself. This seems to be the case every day recently. Ache/pain does not increase when chewing [pressure] with the tooth, nor is it sensitive to hot/cold temperatures. No pain in the gums and no noticeable swellings. No bad taste in mouth, no headache or fever. Mandible x-ray taken on 22nd June did still show an abscess below the root of the 2nd molar tooth [left bottom]. Could this be due to a residual infection ?
Hope the above helps. regards.

YES RESIDUAL INFECTION WAS THERE,WHEN THE X RAY WAS TAKEN,AND I THINK IT IS STILL THERE THAT IS WHY THE PAIN.WE WILL WAIT FOR A WEEK OR SO THEN DECIDE THE NEXT COURSE OF ACTION IF THE PAIN PERSISTS.
