persistent cough

Hello Dr
plz help me
my husband has persistent cough if this type from past 3 weeks
it is loud barking cough, mucus stuck in throat, cough from deep within sound
it start with flu but cough never ends
plz suggest medicine dr
i gave him all allergic antibiotics and cough syrups but no relief
thanks
