Child Asthma

I am seeking help for my son's chronic asthma. He is now 6 years old.
He was diagnosed with asthma when he was 2 yrs and 6 months old. Everything started
after a visit to India. After the long flight to india, he got sick with fever and cough.
The Doctor prescribed antibiotics, cough meds and de-worming med. After he got well the cough lingered.
After returning to USA the cough continued, had coughing spasms while playing, crying, in the night used to wake up due to cough.
The doctor prescribed albuterol sulphate soln. didn't help much, he was later referred to an allergy and asthma specialist.

Now he takes singulair 5 mg every night. QVar Inhaler Twice a day and allergy med. Zyretec 5mg almost every day. When gets sick with a cold
his asthma gets worse and he uses nebulized Pulmicort respules and albuterol.

During the summer season he is better, not many asthma attacks. But in the winter he gets frequently ill.
Doesn't have much resistance.
So his asthma aslo worse. gets frequent attacks. He does not wheeze much. Main symptom is hacking cough. and retractions of
stomach. Sometimes vomits after too much coughing. eyes are watery.

In the night even when he is symptom free, his head sweats while sleeping. has dark circles around the eyes.
Allergies throughout the year and worse in Spring and Summer. His eyes are itchy, throat itchy, inside ears itchy.

After started having asthma, his character changed. He is very sensitive now, cries easily, not very attentive in classes.
teachers say he does not follow rules, they have to repeatedly tell him to to things.

Eating habits - more affinity to junk foods, but regularly eats rice, veggies and fruits.

Mother has asthma and allergies, while Pregnant had asthma and was on theophylline, salmeterol and albuterol. asthma was worse during pregnancy.
and Father has allergies in the spring.

Thank you so much for replying. I checked the above post. In that you have advised to stop all the medications currently taking. Do I need to stop the allopathy Medicines he is taking now? I am worried that might make his situation worse.

Also can you pls advice on a remedy for his allergies. He has itching in his throat, inside of ears and eyes. He scrubs his eyes a lot. Because of this I need to give him the allergy medicine which makes him very drowsy and less attentive in the class.

I had successfully used allium cepa for my allergies
but it didn't help him much.
So I think our allergies are different. He also has itching on his body, and he scratches and says something is biting him always.

I note that you are reluctant to stop all other remedies. I would like you also to visit:

This case too should reassure you that stopping all other remedies is perfectly in order for the child if you wish his asthma to be helped.

Other remedies can be given for his allergies but I would prefer not to prescribe them to you just now till his Asthma is controlled.

Dear Joe

I visited the above link and glad to learn that Nat. Sulp had helped another little boy with asthma.

I do have concerns about stopping all allopathic medicines because We live in USA in the Midwest, where there is heavy snow and ice in the winter, and his asthma is worse in the winter.

We had several emergency visits in the last few years during the snowy weather. Now the climate is changing here and the days are becoming cold.

Does'nt homeopathy medicines work if used along with allopathy medicines ?

I would love to take him away from his steroid inhaler right away when he starts on nat. sulph.

The other medicine he is taking is a tablet called Singulair (montekulast sodium), I will reduce this medicine observing his progress.

Also I have noticed previously that most of the time his asthma attacks occur during new moon days (Amavasi).

Thank you for your response.

You are the father and it is you who must decide if you want to help your son with Homeopathy or continue with the drugs and inhalers that your doctors would have condemned your son to use for the rest of his life.
