Cold
Please help. I have a cold (or something like that). I feel awful between 6 and 7 a.m. when I wake up.My throat is very dry, can't talk and coughing doesnt help. My nostrils are clean but I usually blow discharge from left nostril that is very thick, almost gummy, green with some blood, and it comes from somewhere behind. During the day discharge is thinner, jellow-greenish.
I feel much better when I get out of bed and during the day.
I have no temperature. The cold came slowly. And I'm breasfeeding, if that matters.
Thanks.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
You can try PULS 30C three doses,on consecutive days.
Don't take more than three doses.
Obesrve response and post feedback.
Make sure that there are no odors on you, around you, in your mouth while taking the medicine.
Pulsatilla is a safe medicine and can be taken even while breast feeding.
it may do whatever good it can, to your child too.
But, don't take more than three doses.

good attempt by murthy, but SEPIA, should be a very good choice. sepia covers all the symptoms, including discharge from left nostril. also aggravation by cold,
NOTE. if you have taken PULS, as suggested by MURTHY, then do not take SEPIA, in other case take SEPIA 30, thrice a day for only 1 day, and then report back about the conditions.

sepia is the right choice.

I checked in Clarke.Sepia fits very well.
It also says, for chronic cattarh of this type, Sepia is a better choice than Pulsatilla.
I stand corrected.

Thank you very much! I'll try Sepia for a day.
martita last decade
Well, Sepia didn't help, I took it 3x.
And I have just noticed something that I didn't yesterday. My condition is relieved by cold and dry weather. Also, this morning it moved from left to right nostril.
Thanks again,
Martita

Oh, sorry, my mistake, I ment, I took Sepia 30C, as you suggested, 3x meaning, 3 times, not Sepia 3x.
Sorry for misunderstanding.

how is your thirst.
if the thirst is less while your mouth is dry, the modalities now match with PULSATILLA, you can take 3 doses of PULSATILLA 30C at 6 hours intervals.

Dear Rishimba
We really don't know whether Sepia worked or not.
Better to interject with a dose of Nux.v and then give Puls.
I think you will understand what I am talking about.

Murthy,
How come you are prescribing without a detailed case taking ?
Giving one med, then anti-doting it, again giving another without much thought. Reverting to the first !!!
When it comes to actual prescribing...you forget all the rules that you try to lecture to others.

Dear Pank aj
I think it is high time I start the thread 'acute verses chronic problems', which I promised some time back. : )
My dear sir,
This case is being dealt with, as an acute problem. The first goal is to make the patient comfortable.
If the problem recurs again and again,we will take the complete case, and suggest a suitable remedy.
I told you many times for prescribing for 'acute' problems, minimum three things are required.
The location, the sensation, and the modality.
If all the three are there, a medicine can be selected.
In this case, all three are there, which indicate a couple of remedies.
The reason why Nux. is suggested after Sepia, but before Puls is understood by Rishimba, but you are perhaps at a loss to understand why I said so.
Sepia and Pulatilla are inimical, and they should never be alternated. That is the reason,I suggested to interject with Nux.v, before trying Puls.
We are not forgetting any rules. In fact, we are following them.
Is it clear, my dear friend?

I was commenting on the change of medicines.
The patient has to first say which med (s) he /she has taken...only then suggest anti-dote.

For the benefit of the patient...ask her to fill up the questionnaire of Dr. Deoshlok.
After a detailed picture emerges ...we can suggest a proper med.

As I wrote before, I took Sepia 30c 3 times.
But the unconfortable feeling behind my nose is still here.
I will answer your questions if you have any, because I really want to get rid of this cold.
Today I cough from time to time, because I have a feeling that mucus is running down my throat.
Thanks.

Now, the protest has become feeble.
Dear Pank aj
In your eagerness to jump at me, I think you have not read this thread from the beginning.
She took Sepia...Puls immediately is contra indicated.... hence Nux. in between.... and then Puls.
No need for any questionnerie, at this stage.
Dear Marita
Your problem can be solved. We may hav to try a couple of medicines, which we call a series, before your problem is totally eradicated.
Try the medicines as suggested, and report back.

Martita,
Do you have any burning in any part of the body??
Is there a feeling of burning and closing up of the throat?
Do you have pain in the throat? if yes...which side?
Age ?
What illnesses you have been thru from childhood till now??

The first two are called leading questions. You have a medicine in mind and ask questions to see if the patient answers yes or no to them.
This sort of approach is totally prohibited in homeopathy, as the patient may become influenced by these leading questions, and may give a doubtful answer, even if the intensity of the problem is trivial, and not bothering her/him.
The proper questions would be
Do you have any other discomfort in any part of the body?
What is the sensation like?
Never, ever put leading questions to the patient.
Murthy
P.S. The remainig questions are o.k.
