Astra 1 Page 11 of 11

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Some homeopaths instead of sentences say numbers --where something can be found in Organon! Speaking about dogma.

All the points you found in Modi are great for discussion at hpathy.

About the last point:
in acute cases most often single low pot. worked best.I agree with him.

as to chronic diseases-i agree with high potencies.
Also with repeating--but within 24-36hrs. I have problem accepting repetition later. I know Chris said that she checks after a week, but your favorite GV recommends a month! And everyone says that repeating too soon turns cure into failure.

Gunavante described a cerebral hemmorrhage case which (after 7 years) got better after arnica 40M was given once a week!

So i read examples of repeating high potency in chronic cases -- but since all these readings contradict one another I'm going back to SH and he is against repeating too often-and says that after giving the remedy you may not notice any changes only after 20 days.

Also: Andre Saine who takes only difficult cases and specializes in MS said that in such cases you have to go to basics (SH, Lippe, Hering,Clarke,Allen etc) to be successful.

in science, math-there are solid truths mostly, only few holes which you research. In homeopathy are mostly holes-only very few solid truths--to make things worse maybe some not that true.

Proving and clinical data are mixed in all contemp. MM---but
I'd like to have clinical data divided into two groups:
1. accidental proving--i.e. snake bites you, you accidentaly take some poison etc

they belong to provings---and I'd like to have MM and rep. with them

2.someone takes his/her constitutional and gets cured from some ailment
I don't think these data are indicative of anything and shouldn't be in our books.

Good Analysis.

I think frequent repetetion of higher potencies are indicated in pathologically developed cases, that have been managed allopathically, and come to homeopathy,as a last resort.

The few examples Modi gives are of such cases.I shall give details later.

I too tend to agree with a few doses, and wait and watch in chronic cases. But,I have not made up my mind yet.

Now regarding mixing of clinical symtoms, with proved symptoms, what books do you think give them seperately.I asked a question at Hpathy, but instead of getting an answer, had to clarify, what is a clinical symtom.

Hats off to the knoweldge of present homeopathic doctors!!.By the way are you a qulified doctor too?

Actually I'm a microbiologist+have completed (with diploma only, but that's enough) a homeopathy course+had many wonderful-and very good-teachers. I would never ever study medicine-it's too bloody. In college I had a physiology class and it was the hardest class ever (and I had many classes). Homeopathy-(unless you study it in India and have to learn surgery etc) is not bloody but effective. Microbiology is not bloody either!

Actually all MMs and repertories completed in XIX and begining of XX cent. are based on proven symptoms only---the esoterics and idea of "connsitutional remedy" came later. Later it all was mixed up-and you don't know anymore what is reliable and what isn't -- and in homeopathy everything depends on books-so just to be safe -it is better to go back to old masters-not because of dogmas but because of reliability.

But except MMP you will find clinical symptoms in all MMs-some symptoms are too serious to be experienced by provers.
So there are also clinical symptoms but I call many: accidental provings. but these clinical symptoms also led to the remedy--not because someone was blond or not

so I would definitely recommend "dogma" in selecting the remedy. Posology however is quite another matter!

Chronic diseases- I think we more or less agree with high potencies (I must say that prevalent attittude is repetition of low pot.and certainly there are cases in which this is the only possible way like mental diseases or very sensitive people) But chronic dis. in otherwise strong person: I witnessed a cure of epilepsy(healthy young woman) with a single dose of 10M.

But repetition?

Thanks Astra for the update on yourself.I am sure you know mine.

I fully appreciate what you are saying.

I just posted at otherhealth regarding the similimmum.Add your bit there,if you feel like.

I'll go to otherhealth later in the day: yesterday I read about angina pectoris cured by repeating 10M every day for a week!!!
So some homeopaths do that --in "chronic dis." and organon 5 ed. SH also recommends repeating remedies (plussing)-but he writes about lower potencies.

What about plussing HIGH potencies and taking them more often?

First regarding your doubt about childern getting medicine through mother's milk.

It is in Hanemann's chronic diseases,page 137.

'Sucklings never receive medicine, the mother or wet nurse receives the remedy instead, and through their milk it acts on the childern gently, mildly, and beneficially."

I was rereading chronic diseases, and there I found what I said previously, that you must not sleep after taking the medicine at least for one hour.Hannemann says,it is best to take the medicine in the morning, but you should not sleep again.

1. Sorry, I don't believe the dynamized remedy is transferred with the milk.

There is NO SURE way to know the benefits he observed were not caused by something else.

I don't blame SH for being lost in complexity of the human body (it took science many years to get to know it better and it still surprises: 20 years ago an 18-year old was declared BRAIN DEAD, parents kept her on machines despite good drs advice-and now she starts talking as her BRAIN REGENERATES)--but really, some adjustments to contemporary knowledge must be made--- homeopathic remedies (dynamized) are neither transferred with blood nor through nerves. It's an energy medicine and doesn't use material ways for distribution.
imo

2. remedies are best taken in the morning? what about nux vomica?

If he had been living for all these years SH would have probably presented us with at least 20 editions of organon.
he always improved and experimented- with his death homeopathy got a bit messed up.
Fortunately we also have some brains.

I'm in the middst of "const. similimum"-very interesting dicussion--I agree with HW so far.

I'm trying to get Hans and the rest talking but seems that they cleared the field for now.

Astra2012 last decade
Hann. is talking about antipsoric medicines, and nux.v is not one of them. This is regarding taking the medicine in the morning.

Regarding infants being treated through their mothers, let us see what others have to say.

There was a lo of discussion on scholten's materia medica by Hans in the year 2000.

Search for malaria and calc phos in otherhelth, and read the complete thread.Dr.B,and doctorleela also had interesting views.

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
ok. Do you have Scholten's MM? (I don't) but I know more or less his views (enough to suspect that Hans is against it).

Astra2012 last decade
I guessed right.

They don't like our discussions here...

I have scholten in my software. But,I am yet to study them seriously.

Who are they?

I was having another thought,regarding mother's milk.

What is your view about prophylactics?

If a medicine, taken in anticipation of a disease can help,it means it produces some sort of antibodies, whether the symptoms match or not.

Will the same thing happen in mother's milk also? It may not make any difference to the mother, but may help the child.

If you believe, prophylactics work, then ,this is also possible.

Perhaps we have to change our concept, regarding 'it is as if taking nothing.'

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
Astra

It is not really talking with you,but talking with myself aloud.

The anology with prophylactics may also not be correct. The vital force is affected, the moment the contagion is received, but depending on the patients agility, some people may show the signs of disease quickly, some later, and in some cases, the vital force itself may be capable of handling it without the help of medicines.

So,the prophylactics may work,in case of epidemics,as the vital force is already effected, and we are trying to foresee the possible symtoms, and trying to nib them in the bud, even before they have a chance to come out.

The same may not apply,in case of child having fever, and mother not having it.

Now,I am thoroughly confused.

Any help?

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
I think I agree when you are confused talking to yourself.

prophylaxis in homeopathy doesn't involve antibodies- like always in homeopathy dynamized remedies act only on the vf-- correcting any misalignment it might have (whether or not we can see it in the physical body)
If vf is ok there is nothing like prophylaxis in homeopathy.
I thimk so anyway.
they=paraachute, but mostly arnika--and mother's milk of course.

Astra2012 last decade
Do you often confuse yourelf BY YOURSELF?
I think you are nuts!

Probably that's why I agree with you most of the time...

Anyway--if you have some time check on Maya -- Pankaj probably will not return here any time soon. And he started-now I only asked her to drop uran-nit.--in Encycl. I read it shouldn't be taken long at low pot.
And I'm off for the weekend=family days!
