This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I love your idea of some kind of consultation-it will be great for patients (and for us too!)
I will read it on Monday as Saturdays and Sundays are (theoretically!) the off-computer days!
Please read dense cataract and cataract.

Thanks Astra

But,I may not be able to help much in cataract. However,I will be following the thread, and offer my comments,as and when I feel, confident to intervene.

This is regarding the adrenalin drained case.

Acidity

Burning on passing stool

Even normal stress aggravates

Part mostly affected GI area

Still talking about his father's death 17 years ago

Mainly right side

Twisting and stabbing pain in his intestines area(forget about the cecum valve)

repulsion for acidic foods

no thirst

Backache on rising from the bed, better after going to the bathroom and after moving around

snoring wose when sleeping on back

Hates cold.Likes warmth

Sensitive to pollen

worried about health

protective about the family

Less confident when meeting superiors

fear of failure

fear of financial security

not revealing about fears

Well.I am yet to repertorise the case, but Lycopodium seems most likely candidate.

What do you say.

Others are also welcome to state their opinions.

I would like to hear different views, before prescribing. You may see another angle which I missed.

Regards to all

Another possiblity is Calc.carb.Look at these two,(and any others you may feel fit the case) and let me know.

I didn't repertise fully, but to the extant I did,I am convinced Lyco can be tried.

I didn't add the thermal modality, and if you consider that also,it is likely between lyco, ars, sulph and staphy. But,if we consider the physical region affected it looks more like lyco.May be to be followed up with Sulphur and then ars.

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
you knnow I pay a lot off attention to thermals... maybe too much-and now Snoopy on the other forum confused me a lot about lyc-i have it from Kent as aggrav by heat-warm person remedy -and Snoopy found in her rep. that it can be for cold person!
Really confusing-and it would decide if lyc is here or not.

But Murthy-he is takingh this hydrochloric acid (horrible thing to do-I think)- it wouuld be better to assess the case after he is done.

Astra2012 last decade
Anyway lyc looks the best except if you take thermals from Kent. then arsenicum looks very good.
Other rem. like calc. or
kali-c (left-sided) are way behind. sulph. doesn't count at all.
so you have basically lyc vs ars.

I don't get the fact that with his acidity and aversion to acid foods he takes hydrochloric acid-it's the first time I hear there's something like that!

Astra2012 last decade
Astra

Lycopodium person can be warm or chilly, may not be the same person.

What is this hydrochloric acid?I don't know. Can you pl.tell me.

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
Murthy, Hydrochloric acid is from vinagar. Not exactly, but pretty close. Anyone needing a quick fix can drink dill pickle juice, 3 swallows to treat acute ingestion. That which doctors call acid reflux (disease, of all things) needs Hydrochloric A. to relieve and cure. Sabra

sabra last decade
Do you mean to say,the food doesn't get digested,as his natural secretion of acids has diminished?

And,acid is given through mouth,to help digestion?

So far I only have heard of antacids(alkalies) to counter excess acidity problem. This is very common here.

But,lack of acid, and supplimenting it?How frequent are such cases there?

I haven't heard of even one case,so far,within my circle,since the last 40 years.!!!

It is news to me.

Any way,What do we do now?Shall we ask him to stop the HCL, and start Lycopodium,3 doses to start with?

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
Murthy, Just a note. Yes, in some countries taking Hydrocloric acid tablets to enable digestion is well known. It seems there are fads in the health field and some people self prescribe this.

museon last decade
Thanks museon

It is news to me.May be Pankaj knows something about this,as far as India is concerned.

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
iN INDIA they take "Milk of Magnesia" ....or Diagene...which is the same.

PANKAJ VARMA last decade
Hydrochloric acid is produced in stomach ONLY to lower pH for peptidase there which starts protein digestion. It's the first time ever that I hear about such "supplements".
Murthy-are you saying that lyc can be chilly or warm?
I pay a lot of attention to thermals (as they have been so well defined for me so far) but lyc (just this remedy!) is so confusing!

(ars is always chilly with burning pains though...)but besides that lyc really looks good.
Do you plan on 3 dry doses?
I do not have exp. with it-give either single or plussing, but it all depends of course. He will be done with this ridiculous thing (HCl) soon.

Astra2012 last decade
Yes, here too they take milk of magnesia and other antacids to neutralize stomach acids but this guy goes other way-he takes MORE acid (and besides has acidity and aversion to acid foods).

His poor body...

Astra2012 last decade
Murthy: he is sensitive to pollen-so I guess he might be sensitive to hom. drugs too.
Which potency are you going to use?

Astra2012 last decade
Well Astra

Let us start with Lycopodium 200 dry pellets,on three consecutive mornings.I don't advise in the evenings,as they may unknowigly take it during aggravation periods.

I don't think he will be that sensitive, though he says he reacts to pollen.

yes.He should stop his Hydro chloric acid.

we will ask him to report after a week.

What do you say?

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
Regarding Lyco being chilly or warm, see Boger's repertory. He gives a 2,for it being chilly, and a 1 for it being warm.

I will give you some more references also.

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
Pankaj

Milk of magnesia is magesium hydroxide, which is an alkali, and hence antacid only.

This man is talking about hydrochloric acid, which is a real acid, with a positive PH value. That is strange.!!

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
In Murphy lyc is also aggravated by cold...
Why did Kent (actually dr Miller clssify it as a hot remedy-aggravated primarily by heat?
I really hate when otherwise trustworthy sources mislead like that.
Everything else in this book becomes uncertain.

His body will probably need few days after he stops his acid (after which he may start loving acidic foods!)
Do you know which one is the cecum valve?

Astra2012 last decade
Astra

see Kent's repertory

Generalities

Cold in general Agg: Lyc is 3

cold air agg; again 3

becoming cold : again 3

Now see

becoming cold amel: a 3!!

after becoming cold agg: a 2

and now it comes

heat and cold ; a 2

tendency to take cold: 3

Again

Warm air agg; 2

Becoming warm,in open air agg: 3

Warm bed agg:2

again warm bed amel :3

warm room agg :3

warm wraps agg:3

Now, you tell me.Can you take chilliness or warmth as an eliminating symptom?

Yes,generally he is chilly. But,there are cases where he can be warm.

So,what is the conclusion?

We can ignore thermal modalities,if other symtoms point to Lyco.

This is the dictionary meaning of cecum

"The cavity in which the large intestine begins and into which the ileum opens."

We really don't have to worry about it.

ok.I will ask him to stop his 'acid' and come back after three days.

Confirm it.

Murthy

bandarbabu2000 last decade
Seems it is a valve between small and large intestinum??
And his chiropractor can feel it? And hydrochloric acid helps? And I'm a queen from the planet Mars?

It's weird-but your advice was very good.

My conclusion about lyco: as I always suspected this is one, very seriously messed up remedy.
I wasn't talking about inside of Kent's rep-but with it comes hot and cold rem by dr Gibson Miller (actully he supposedly prepared it from Kent's work).
I wonder which remedy also acts that strange (heat and cold aggravate or amelioate!)
