Catarrh problem

I posted an enquiry to Joe de Livera over a week ago with no reply and was wondering if anybody could help. I have a problem with persistant catarrh and am always having to swallow the mucous as am unable to cough it up. I have had this for years now and does cause headaches and also seem to have alot of gas as have days when I am burping quite alot with mild sicky, headache feeling. I have ordered Nux Vomica 3c from yourselves and would like your advice as to whether this is the right treatment and how much to take. Look forward to a response a.s.a.p.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.

Please present more symptoms especially mind symptoms (how do you feel, etc.), thermal modalities (whether you like hot or cold weather, etc.) for someone to make a proper prescription.

Is your tongue quoted white? Is there rattling sound of catarrh in the throat?

Meanwhile you can start taking Kali Sulph 6X four times a day (30 mts after meals) and report progress.

I also hav ebeen inquiring about Joe. I did a google search and fpund where he recommended bacillinum 200 for this chronic problem
. To be exact the post was on 2006-01-05, from Duncan. Plz inform if you find out any more I also have chronic catarrh. I was advised to get Kali bichromicum 30c use for 7 days.

I understand from other posts that Joe is suspended from this forum.

You must present symptoms better if you are looking for help from others. You can not have a silver bullet remed in homeopathy. Its an individualized treatment. Same problem in different people may require different remedies.

Dear srisri,

Thankyou for getting back to me. First of all the problem seems to be mainly with the mucous in my throat and having to swallow as can not cough it up. Do seem to have headaches alot, do not have a white coat on my tongue. I prefer hot weather and am easily cold, but am fit and exercise, am a mother of two. I live in Spain. Some times it is worst than other times but I have had it for so long now.
Sometimes have a sicky, burpy feeling. I have ordered Nux Vomica 3c already would you advise to take this and see or would you wait and order the Kali Sulph?

Dear Mr Stanton and dr Srisri,

I do not take any other medicine, I do drink red wine and occasionally a beer, I drink tea about three cups a day and decaff coffee. I do not smoke. My disposition is good very active with work and children. I don´t have a rattle in my throat. I have stopped eating bread so much and am now mainly having soya milk. I eat healthily

I ordered Nux vomica 3c as read of a similar catarrh problem in one of Joe de Livera´s forum on Bacillinum. Unsure whether to take Nux Vomica 3c having had it sent to friend in UK and then brought over here?????? Or how to proceed.

Is anybody there? Started taking Nux Vomica and seemed to get a full on fluey cold immediately. Could this be due to the Nux Vomica? Am in the UK in the next week or so and am keen to order what you would advise.

Get a kit for yourself. Make sure you have Ant Tart in the kit. You might need it.

A kit consists of a set of common remedies/ medicines often used.

Make sure it has common medicines like Ant Tart, Suplhur, etc.

Did you ever have similar fluey cold before the catarrh settled to what it is now?

What is the color of your catarrh?

What are your food cravings/ aversions?

I really can´t remember. I think that it may be a food allergy because it seems to get worst if I eat bread or cakes or drink beer. (Yeast) maybe. I have tried giving up the above but it does not go away totally. Unfortunately I am unable to cough it up and end up swallowing it and it then seems to reproduce and it is worst in the afternoon. Would you still suggest Kali Sulph or as Joe de livera mentioned, Bacillinum? Also could you advise as to what Nux Vomica is for exactly?.

The catarrh is greeny, beigy. I dislike greasy foods, however I do tend to eat homemade mild, spicy foods.

Nux Vomica is a polychrest meaning it is indicated in several conditions. You can read up the remedy here:

When you do bring up the mucous, is it stringy? What else do you observe?

From the symptoms you are presenting, I can think of Antimonium tartaricum in 30C potency.

Please take 3 doses thirty minutes apart and observe.
