cough and cold for 20 month
My son is having continuous cough , running nose , vomiting and fever since last 2 days, he coughs all night. Vomitings are better today. Can you please suggest some homeopathic medicine for that. I gave him #6 from Bio Combination 2 tablets twice a day, but that didn't help.He also had a similar problem 2 weeks back when doctor gave him antibiotics, he got better in 3 days, but now it started again. Can you please suggest some remedy for him as I don't want to give him antibiotics again this time.
Also please suggest if there is some medicine which I should give him regularly so that he builds immunity to fight againt these regular coughs and cold. My son stays in day care all day and some one is always sick there. He was home till 15 months and he never got cough during that time

he is 20 month old. Vimiting is better now. Yes it happened first day during cough.
He is very playful otherwise, he is dull when the fever starts. Last night also his fever went up to 102, and we have to give him Motrin.
I am trying to give him honey-ginger, #6 from Bio-Combination. But his cough and cold is not improving at all.

Vomitings are ok now, his major symptoms are cough and cold, and fever goes high to 102 twice in 24 hrs. Also, can you please suggest something which help build his immunity to prevent further cough and colds

Did you get him checked up by a doctor.The condition here requires complete check up of lungs.It is better to follow the first suggestion i above mentioned.However keeping in mind the child's condition i prefer 2 medicines alternately.
1- Bryonia 30c
2- Ipecoc 30c
Alternate them with 2 hours gap.Mix each medicine seperately in half cup of water(4 drops).Give him 1 teaspoon from each as a dose.If he gets better after 2 doses of each then continue for other two doses other wise take him to the doctor for checkup.To improve his immunity deep acting medicines will be required after his fever.

If he is irritable chamomilla may help.
If the head is hot and extremities cold Bell may help.
The ipecac tongue is normally clean without coating.
If the patient is dull and listless Gelsemium may help.
Each medicine has its special indication and it is better to ask for more details rather than prescribe alternations on scant information.

Highly efficacious medicine for acute catarrhal conditions of the respiratory tract (used in the beginning)
Head.--Irritable, sensitive to external impressions; hot, full and heavy head; lachrymation, with coryza, profuse, fluent, with constant sneezing; loss of smell and taste; coryza with cough.
Throat.--Dry, pain during empty swallowing, tenacious mucus. Mouth dry.
Respiratory.--Dry cough from sternal region all over chest. Hoarseness, larynx painful. Paroxysmal cough, with suffocative obstruction of respiration. Cough with sneezing. Severe dyspna with cough. Tightness across chest. Asthmatic attacks, cannot endure a close, warm room. Whooping-cough.
Relationship.--Seems to come between Cepa and Euphrasia, which compare.

dear murthy,
If you take 'Qawa' of this Justicia adathoda you get immediate relief from such type of ailment.
I think smaller dose i.e. Q as sdvised by dr. mazhar will be much batter than higher potency.

In unani medicine it is a most common medicine which is being used in the form of decoction for common cold and cough. Its common name is GAU ZABAN (Cow tongue)because its leaves are like tongue of the cow. I have used this in the form of tincture only in cases of cold and cough.

thank you all for all your repsonses. My son is much better now , but he still has cough left, he coughs badly 2-3 times in a day and 2-3 times in night. At this stage should I go with the following suggested medicine

as far as immunity is concerned. you can use this medicine when ever your son is afflicted with common cold.
subsequent spell of cold may be less virulent. Thus the immunity.
generally one week course is enough.

My son, who is 2 and a half year old, is having severe cough and light fever since yesterday. The cough gets severe at times due to which he throws up. Can I again give him Justicia Adathoda Q , as suggested above?
