This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I'm very happy to have it confirmed that these are signs that the remedy is working. I thought as much, especially when the boils and such began to surface.

The key symtpom in M.E. is congestion of the brain ... hypoperfusion and inflammation which descends into the brain stem and in exceptionally severe cases, the spine itself. If the remedy is busy addressing these, it would certainly explain the headaches. (I am grateful for high pain tolerance =)

Thank you.

I will be seeing my GP next week, and will be reporting to him at that time how and to what degree the remedy has affected me (most particularly in terms of the vertigo). This will preface a discussion regarding my present medication protocol, from which I hope I will soon be able to wean myself entirely, though with one in particular I must move slowly and carefully to avoid such things as seizures or potentially fatal heart problems (something of which I have deduced he has little knowledge). With that in mind, I have a couple more questions:

* how will i know when the remedy has done all it's going to do? (at this time, i feel as if it's not quite finished with me yet)

* given that i have multiple health problems (ME,FM, CMP), all of which greatly affect my neck, will these conditions reverse the benefits of the remedy over time(essentially causing new injury)?

My dr is a very difficult and unpredictable man, so it's important I be as well informed and knowlegable as possible when I raise this discussion with him. If I am well 'armed' with information, then I will be in a stronger position to prevent him from sabotaging my progress.

Thank you (yet again)

And, how do you feel now ?

It's hard to say at times. I feel different, and overall I feel ... stronger, I think is the right word, even though I am very tired and have moments where I feel like a balloon which has suddenly lost all its air. I also feel as if things are still going on.

The weather has been unusually warm these past two days, and I'm heat intolerant, so it's hard to accurately determine how I would be feeling if not for that. On the other hand, I was able to reduce my medication by 1/2 today and so far (a few minutes before bedtime) I have felt no ill effect from that reduction.

The headaches are still with me, but though they are quite painful, it no longer feels as if my head will explode, and I get a bit of a breather in between. But today I noticed that the tingling/numbness in my fingers and face was more pronounced.

And that leads me back to my two questions. I expect I'll sense when the remedy has done all it's going to do, but if you can give me a few things to watch for, it would be helpful. More importantly, is it possible that my health problems could cause new damage even if I never have the kind of injury which caused it in the first place? If that's somehing I should be aware of, perhaps there are preventive measures I can take. I never dreamed to be free of this vertigo which has stolen so much of my life, so if that day should come, I will fight with everything I have to prevent it from returning. And for that, I need knowledge.

We will have to arrive at a plateau, where you 'feel' no change has been happening for a week or so.

* given that i have multiple health problems (ME,FM, CMP), all of which greatly affect my neck, will these conditions reverse the benefits of the remedy over time(essentially causing new injury)?

As I said earlier, Arnica will primarily take out the effects of the injury you suffered from when you fell.
The rest of the diseases should respond well to anti-miasmatic treatment through Phosphorus/Silica.

Let the Arnica complete it's job, as it is clear that the response is still very much ongoing.

sameervermani last decade
Thank you for making things more clear to me.

Yes, it does feel very much as if it's still ongoing.

Silica?

nakomis last decade
Yes, I see some indications for Silicea as well apart from Phosphorus.

But, we will re-asess once the response to Arnica has come to a complete halt. This can take upto 4 weeks from the Arnica 1M dose.

Interesting!

Out of curiosity (please excuse the student in me), I went to five or six different resources (books, online Materia Medica) and compared the two (Phos and Sil). If I'm mercilessly honest with myself, I would conclude that I am more of the Phos 'type'. Also, the modalities of Phos seem more fitting.

But that is only from my perspective, which of course is limited, and so I ask in order to learn. I am fascinated to know what it is that may point toward Silicea. What would be considered a deciding factor?

I have studied 'altnernative' healing since my early 20's, but because I was never able to actually attend a college where these things are taught, I have had to look to textbooks and people willing to share their knowledge with me. And so the student in me is forever asking questions (but hopefully not driving people to distraction in the process :)

I agree the mentals are primarily Phosphorus, but some of the vertigo symptoms, in particular, worsening from motion and falling to the right belong to Silicea.

However, as I said, once the injury effects are cleared up with Arnica, the case might point in totality to Phosphorus.

We will cross that bride when the time comes.

Right now we must wait for Arnica to complete its job.

Thank you. I appreciate you answering my questions. (Yes, I probably did drive my teachers crazy in school because I've always wanted to learn more and more :)

Once again I am encountering roadblocks in being able to accurately assess my progress as re the remedy. My earache turned into a very severe (and painful enough to wake me from a deep sleep) ear/throat/sinus infection which was bordering on septic by the time I crawled into the emergency room at 4am Friday, and has been causing dizziness (which under the circumstances is a sure-fire way to confuse things).

Despite the dizziness, I have managed to keep my medication reduced to half without falling into full-blown vertigo, and I'm taking this as a hopeful sign.

However ...

I had no option but to go on antibiotics, and am hoping it will not interfere with the remedy's action. I also don't know if the infection itself will interfere, or will all this simply delay my being able to determine how I am progressing with the remedy?

To say that I am disappointed and frustrated would be an understatement, but if it doesn't actually interfere with the remedy's action, I can tell myself to remain patient and focus on recuperating as well and quickly as possible. (With my erratic immune function, every little thing can turn into a big nasty thing and I'm used to it, but the timing stinks.)

I apologize for rambling once again. In all the above chatter is the question: has the remedy been derailed by this turn of events, or am I simply looking at waiting a bit longer?

Thanks

If you have not yet started the anti-biotics, you can take 3 doses of Silicea 30c, and that should take care of the earache.

However, if it has got to the point where you cannot wait for a day, you can take the anti-biotics, and we will resume treatment once you are done with them.

sameervermani last decade
And, do not worry, this will not derail our process.

sameervermani last decade
I was given the antibiotics on Friday morning and started taking them straight away. This type of infection can get very severe very quickly, and I was already dangerously close to complications, so it was a choice I had to make pretty much on the spot. I'd have posted sooner only I have been essentially bedridden since Friday.

I'm very relieved to know it's a delay rather than a complete derailment. That would have been very discouraging.

Again, my thanks.

nakomis last decade
Okay, come back once you are done with the anti-biotics.

sameervermani last decade
Well I'm not off the antibiotics yet (apprx 3-1/2 more days to go) but the infection is starting to lessen enough that I'm aware of what I think must be separate (unrelated to infection) symptoms. As usual, though, there's no way to know but to ask.

First, 40+ yrs ago I broke my coccyx in four places. It was treated and healed well. It has not bothered me since, until a few days ago and now I am getting little twinges off and on. I haven't re-injured myself, so I'm puzzling over whether a remedy can reach that far back in time!

Secondly, my neck has been feeling very peculiar since yesterday morning: very tender, feels very weak and vulnerable, although the muscles are quite rigid (FM at work I suppose), discomfort between the vertebrae, sensitive and spongy to the touch in places, especially on the right.

I of course have no way of knowing, but to me it feels as if the remedy is still working away.

When it became clear that I had a chronic condition (3, actually, but who's counting), I schooled myself to patience, and it serves me well now. It took over 50 years to put me here, I know it will take time to see improvement, and I am starting to wonder, out of interest, how long a remedy can continue to work before it's done all it's going to do. You say up to a month; have you heard of it being longer than that?

Again, the student in me asking questions questions questions =)

[SV]: It is very much possible, for a remedy to go that far in time.

[SV]: A remedy can keep on working for longer periods as well, it all depends on the case and the person, so if you feel remedy is still working, let us keep waiting.

And this coccyx injury has made the case stronger for Silica, as well as Hypericum . Hypericum is indicated many times when dealing with chronic effects of injuries, especially the kind of fall you had.

sameervermani last decade
Hm. Interesting ... thank you.

Another question:
If Arnica resolves my vertigo problem, from my perspective, my next concern would be to ease the impact of M.E. and Fibromyalgia, both of which, besides being disabling in their own right, will likely (if left to their own devices) continue to affect my neck and overall neuro problems.

Do Silicea and/or Hypericum address these diseases?

Update regarding neck: in the past 2-3 hours, it has gone from tender to painful on the right side, almost exactly over the injury site. I must admit this gives me a slight anxiety as it is getting very close to the heart of the matter ... as per my first post. However I am taking it to be good sign. This process is a bit scary at times, but it gives me hope where I have had none, so there are no complaints from me =)

nakomis last decade
Silicea covers your miasmatic state very well, and just like Phosphorus has the power to cure all your diseases.

However IF we DO use Hypericum, that will primarily be to root out the effects of injuries when you fell, and the injury to your coccyx.

Update me in 3-4 days then.

sameervermani last decade
OK.

I'm confused: when I got the arnica, I also got Phos 200c and 30c as instructed. Should I have waited?

nakomis last decade
No, we will use it in due time.

Let your reaction come to a complete halt, then we will pick the next remedy based on te symptoms then.

Phosphorus no doubt will be needed as it is a major part of the presentation here.

sameervermani last decade
I see. OK.

I hope I will be able to tell when the arnica has finished doing it's thing =) To this point it's been relatively easy to detect, but ME/FM are constantly presenting new symptoms (one tends to cycle through them over the years). Then again, the arnica action has been very distinctive so far.

A couple of symptoms I'm not sure about (i.e. are they part of my overall condition or are they action of the remedy):

Extreme irritability and clumsiness (they seem to go together)

Burning diarrhoea - very painful, with slight cramping in abdomen just below navel.

Should also be noted I haven't slept well for the past 3-4 nights, due in part to hot weather, in part to early waking (4-5am) Lack of sleep would at least in part explain my irritability.

nakomis last decade
Okay, it is time now to go to Phosphorus 30c.

Dissolve 2 pellets in a 250 ml spring water bottle. You can shake it gently after they have dissolved.

Take a capful from this bottle 3 times in one day, spaced by 2 hours. This is to be done for one day ONLY.

Let me know in 3 days after these 3 doses.

Restrictions:

1/. Nothing should enter the mouth for 40 minutes prior to, or after taking the remedy.
2/. Do not touch the tablets with your hands, tip them into the cap of the container they came in and then into the water .
3/. Avoid coffee, tea (including green), and other sources of caffeine such as some fizzy drinks and large amounts of chocolate, except where this would cause a drastic change in consumption
4/. Avoid wearing perfume/aftershave, or exposure to anything with a strong smell while under treatment. This includes any and all essential oils, and incense.
5/. Avoid the consumption of excessively spicey foods
6/. The use of medicinal herbs, either as 'teas' or supplements should be avoided during Homoeopathic treatment, as should the use of over the counter medication, unless this has been recommended by an MD.
7/. Nothing of a medicinal nature should be applied to the skin
