It should start working within 48-72 hours

OK. Thank you.

so far no improvement. dizziness seems a bit worse. hope that's just the ear/sinus infection.

nakomis last decade
.. and is the ear infection under control ?

sameervermani last decade
Sometimes it feels like it's getting a bit worse, other times it feels like it did four days ago.

Are there any throbbing and burning sensations in the ear ?

Does the pain radiate into the throat ?

Is it aggravated by blowing of the nose and coughing ?

Are the ears feeling blocked up ?

Any cracking noises, which can be aggravated by swallowing and chewing food or other substances ?

Sensitive to cold air ?

Any perspiration around the head ?

Any craving for eggs ?

>Are there any throbbing and burning sensations in the ear ?<

No.

>Does the pain radiate into the throat ? <

Yes; left side, glands enlarged and tender.

>Is it aggravated by blowing of the nose and coughing ?<

Blowing nose (makes ear feel plugged)

>Are the ears feeling blocked up ?<

Left ear does.

>Any cracking noises, which can be aggravated by swallowing and chewing food or other substances ?<

Random crackling noises under and behind. I have them often, even when ear not infected. Chewing/swallowing have no effect either way.

>Sensitive to cold air ? <

My ear? If the air is moving, yes.

>Any perspiration around the head ? <

Occasionally on forehead.

>Any craving for eggs ?<

No.

Hmm.. if this ear infection does not respond in the next day or so, I have another remedy in mind which would be worth trying.

sameervermani last decade
what did you have in mind?

i'm of mixed feelings. on the one hand i feel as if my best bet is to simply shut down all but essential function for a few days and see if i start feeling better. on the other hand, i'm tired of feeling so awful all the time.

i've been referred to an ENT dr to determine if there is a structural problem involved. having suffered from sinus/ear infections all my life (even when otherwise robustly healthy) and almost exclusively on the left side, it does seem possible that there's a deformity of some kind. what could be done about it if that's the case i'm not sure (surgery is not an option) but at least i'd know what i'm up against.

i also am torn between tackling the present ear/sinus infection or moving on to weeding out the more troublesome aspects of M.E. and Fibroymyalgia. for example, it came to me last night that the muscle problems associated with both conditions are making a lot of other things worse ... dizziness, headaches, and probbly area around ear being more painful than it would otherwise are three key examples.

and all this thinking when so foggy is making my head spin, so i think i'll just stop right here :)

muscles:

hard, rigid, taut (as if contracted)

knots and 'ropes', which when pressed will radiate pain in many directions at once, often to distant parts of the body.

fascia stiff, adhering to muscles

cramps (most typically in feet, calves and pectoral muscles)

spasms, twitches (legs, face/head,arms, hands)

pain in back, neck, face, head (particularly around ears, extending back toward occiput), chest (in chest causes intercostal pain and at sternum ... often mistaken when first occurs as heart attack or angina)

muscles tend to be strong but weaken quickly with repetitive motion. i.e. can hold something of significant weight, but if called upon to repeatedly lift and lower a lighter object, will quickly tire and cause the hands to release.

extreme pain reaction to slightest over-use.

Hmm..please take 3 doses of Calcarea Carb 30c equally spaced on a single day.

Report in 48 hours.

sameervermani last decade
ok. i don't have any so will have to try to get some. this will take until at least sept 2nd as it's a civic holiday weekend.

nakomis last decade
and now just to keep things interesting, i've developed a sore throat with swollen glands on both sides.

nakomis last decade
Hmm.. let us see how you do with Calcarea

sameervermani last decade
as soon as i can get it, yes. the store is closed til tomorrow (sept 2) and i am too ill to leave my flat so must therefor hope someone will be good enough to get it for me.

i now have a cold along with the ear infection, which i think was starting to ease up. i'm so multi-symptomatic it's making my head spin. should i perhaps wait til at least the viral infestation has run its course, or carry on as planned. (i hope to get the calc carb in the next day or two).

it's already autumn here (a bit early) ... chilly, windy and damp ... and every 'bug' passing through town is going to be dropping by for a visit, which makes it very hard to tell if a remedy is working on a specific thing or not ;o

nakomis last decade
Hmm..trying Calc will be a much better option than going to anti-biotics.

But, you are right , waiting is not a bad idea.

sameervermani last decade
my ear is starting to feel better although my nose is stuffy with this cold. i have gotten the calc carb, but it was too late in the day to start, so i can do it tomorrow if that seems a good idea.

Namaste

nakomis last decade
Let us wait for 2 more days. Update me at that time.

sameervermani last decade
it now appears that i do not have a bacterial infection at all, but rather the result of 3-4 yrs exposure to mold, particularly black mold, an environment from which i have only recently removed myself. from the allopathic perspective, this changes everything (and explains why antibiotics were ineffective) ... i don't know if or how this would change the homeopathic picture but thought best to update.

nakomis last decade
And, how do you feel now, overall ?

sameervermani last decade
i can safely say i feel significantly better in many ways since taking the arnica 1M, but not as well as i did between that time and when this latest ear/sinus flare began. there is still a great deal of pain and congestion, sensitivity to wind, and an overall feeling of toxicity.

nakomis last decade
Hmm.. let us go to Calcarea then, 3 doses equally spaced on a single day.

1 dose = 1 teaspoon

Sameer.

sameervermani last decade
i took the calc today (thurs).

nakomis last decade
there appears to be some improvement. there is still pain and congestion, but at intervals rather than constant.
