Mental Abuse, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, OCD
I suffer from major anxiety, OCD, depression, and I always feel impending doom. Im 30 years old, live at home with mom, am without work without a woman all because I have become a recluse over the years to the point where I no longer have any social contact with friends or anyone for that matter, in fact its been probably 8 years since the last time I seen my childhood best friends, I just dont feel the desire to socialize anymore, Im a loner now as a result. It all began at around age 17 after experiencing a traumatic event, as a result from having a mentally abusive father, who would nonverbally signal or convey thoughts or ideas having to do with just sick things of a sexual nature along with the evil eye. For example, say my friends were over and we would be in my room playing videos games and we happened to close the door my father would later discover the door closed and open it then ask why we had closed the door to a point where It just made you feel uncomfortable or for example if I had a buddy of mine stay the night and if I happened to get up early the next morning and happened to take a shower he might ask why I took a shower, couple this with just negative nonverbal cues or looks that would make you feel guilty. As a result over time this ended up hurting me psychologically to where I eventually traumatized myself from thinking about it too much, as to why my father was signaling such sick ideas, it really hurt me to the point where I just became traumatized and began to feel uncomfortable around my friends for fear that others might think we were doing something perverted, its F*ing sick. Well anyway as a result, I developed severe homophobia and insecurity about how people in general perceived me or what they thought of me. This in turn robbed me of my social life, from procuring a girlfriend, as I would avoid social events like the plague, especially events where there were females for fear that they would pick up on my insecurity and basically have a field day with my ass, as girls especially at that age can be cruel and think youre a fag or something and just have you for breakfast. Well anyway, this was some 11 or 12 years ago, and I still suffer from PTSD, only now it has gotten worse since I stopped taking paxil some few years back. At least on paxil I was happy enough and less self-conscious enough to go out to a bar and have a drink, now I do not feel secure enough to even do this anymore. Im ashamed to admit it, but I know that all of this (the depression, anxiety, OCD) is a result from going so long without a woman. All the stress over the years has wreaked havoc on my nervous system and as a result caused my anxiety and OCD to just worse, 10 fold so bad that I cannot control myself when I go out in public to where it is obvious I am having a panic attack and people stare at you. I feel as if everyones eyes are on me when I go out coupled with the homophobia. I DO NOT wish to get back on the paxil, I am looking for a natural cure. Ive noticed that certain foods lift my mood to where I feel almost motivated to go back out there and face my social phobias like I did when I was on paxil. Fried chicken in vegetable oil(only fried) seems to lift my spirits, also many green vegetables such as cucumbers also make me feel great and at ease and more sociable along with garlic and onions. These foods are high in sulfur, I wonder if I am deficient in sulfur?Im currently on arsenicum album 30C several times a day, this helps with depression but not much in the way of anxiety or OCD, Ive tried kali phos 6x, this seems to better improve my listening skills or my attention span. I;ve tried 5htp also pretty good fro depression but not anxiety or OCD, Ive tried many things including many vitamins but nothing on the order of paxil. I suspect I am high histamine so I just started a inositol and theanine regiment but it could be at least 6 weeks before I see results. There has got to be something out there that yields instant results, there has to be as I have seen instant results from certain foods consumed, its amazing, I think I am deficient in the way of some vitamin or mineral. I should also mention that something in KFCs chicken and mashed potatoes make me feel warm and fuzzy inside, I dont know what it is, its gotta be some deficiency I have. I drink a lot of alcohol to cope with my condition, but when I consume certain feel good foods my alcohol cravings vanish as I feel warm and fuzzy, happy worry free inside.
So any suggestions as to a homeopathic remedy?
By the way, I like rainy days and the winter, especially around the holidays I get warm and fuzzy inside. Sunlight bothers me, I only care for the sun during those hot days for boating and going out to the beach, other than that I can do without. Also, I feel better/come alive in the late afternoon and evening.
Thanks from Rochester, NY

ANSWER: Thats why I wonder if I have some kind of an amino acid deficiency , maybe sulpher?
Do you feel comfortable having people in the next room, but not in the same room as you?
ANSWER: Well back then in my late adolescence when I had a life, I felt this way. Let me give you an example, one time I was over my buddys house Nick, my best friend Mike was there as well and Mike noticed that I was in a hurry for all of us to leave the apartment, then mike turned to me and jokingly said who cares if everyone thinks were gay lol that of course made me feel better as I felt that he understood what I was feeling and cracked a joke about it and as a result I felt comfortable being around him as I felt he understood my worries.
What is your body type? Thin, fat, bloated?

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.
1. Describe your main suffering?
ANSWER: I feel scared, of people, Im overwhelmed by their presence for fear of showing my insecurities to them with regard to my homophobia and for they will pass judgment , you think Im a fag or something.
2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
ANSWER: Physical sufferings? None really that I can think of, other than out of shape from being overweight.
3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
ANSWER: There is not correlation or connection
4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? Describe the sensation in your own words.
ANSWER: At my worst? I feel like all panicky, impending doom, when in the back of my mine I know it is all in my head, I just cant shake feeling this way.
5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
ANSWER: As I mentioned in the opening paragraph, I was traumatized in my late adolescence due to negative nonverbal communication from father, (I.E evil eye, just looks that made me feel uncomfortable like I was doing something bad, sick stuff having to do with things of a deviant sexual nature) this all screwed me up and as a result I developed homophobia but in the extreme. I believe all heterosexual men are homophobic to a degree since our society teaches us to fear this especially male father figures but my fear is just totally irrational, to where I worry to much about what other people think about me or how they perceive me, like a broken record, hence the PTSD.
6. Which time of the day you are worst?
ANSWER: I feel worst from morning till around 2:30 PM, I begin to come alive/feel better in the late afternoon especially in the early evening.
7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? Example- time, temperature, pressure, rubbing, washing, eating, tight clothing etc.
ANSWER: None of the mentioned. What I find aggravates my condition is negative or judgmental people. Also, the day after drinking alcohol. Or poor nutrition.
8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
ANSWER: yes, sometimes, for example Id rather be in my room watching TV then in the living room, something about the living room depresses me, I dont know if it can be the pale neon lighting thats in the livingroom, or because I feel like anyone can come knock on the door from the outside at any moment. I tend to like to hide from people for fear of displaying my phobias.
9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
ANSWER: Cold weather, with a foot of snow outside, I like that fact that everything is tranquil and that everyone is indoors and not outside.
10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.
ANSWER: Nervous, definitely, suspicious. - Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
Weeping, talking to one self etc?
ANSWER: restless legs, always find myself shaking my leg like a nervous wreck, infact the kids back in grade school nic named me nervous. Plus other OCD rituals that I do, such as reread something I am reading otherwise I feel that I might jinx myself if I dont etc etc.
- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?
ANSWER: Embarrassing myself, is basically what it all boils down to. Plain and simple. I cant control my self around people sometimes, thats why I hide, I do not wish to embarrass myself. As far as dreams none really, infact in dreams is when I find peace, I have dreams of back when I was normal, enjoying myself with my friends and family, no irrational fears etc etc. Sighs
12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
ANSWER: I crave protein rich foods a lot, such as streaks, pork chops, fried chicken, cheese, pizza, I love bread but it makes me nervous and anxious, so I try and avoid bread, even though I crave it. I love the smell and taste of yeast when I make bread from scratch.

No I'm not pasty white at all since I have some what of a tanned natural complexional which makes sense and tan very easily in the summer.
Bloated? well I guess that would depend on what I had for dinner, especially after a few brewskies.
Math, I'm actually pretty good at math and have interests in mathematics, physics, and engineering.
Medorrhinum? What should I except to happen in those 3 weeks?

You should expect some amelioration in your mental symptoms. Of course, no other homeopathic remedies can be taken during this 3 week period. In fact, I would recommend a remedy free period of at least 1 week, before you take your dose of Medorrhinum 1M.
And, I repeat, just 1 single dose and nothing should enter mouth 1 hr before and 1 hr after the dose.

Thank you all for your responses. I'm actually working with a homeopath who came across this post and emailed me in private and offered his services free for the first month. He recommends I first try Staphysagria, along with a bach flower concoction of the following remedies:
1.WHITE CHESTNUT
2.HOLLY
3.CRAB APPLE
4.MIMULUS
5.CHERRY PLUM
6.IMPATIENS
if that does not work for me, then I will try the Medorrhinum.
I will post my progress whenever there is something to report

If I may I would like to ask you a couple of questions? I reckon that it's okay. :-)
Well, here they are: Do you ever get the feeling that something will happen, something terrible?
Do you have claustrophobia? Or a fear of heights?
How do you react if you have to go some place, such as an office, cinema, theater, doctor, dentist, etc etc?
Do you sigh or bite yourself on the inside of the cheek?
What are you most afraid of? What is the worst scenario you can think of?
Do you have a lot of air / gas in the stomach?
Are you a hot or cold person, physically?
Afraid of the dark?
Can you ever have a sense of a lump in your throat?
Other things you can think of?
Sincerly; Parakletos.

Well, here they are: Do you ever get the feeling that something will happen, something terrible?
ANSWER: Yes of course, I fear embarrassing myself in public especially around strangers, that is my biggest fear.
Do you have claustrophobia? Or a fear of heights?
ANSWER: No, none of the sort.
How do you react if you have to go some place, such as an office, cinema, theater, doctor, dentist, etc etc?
ANSWER: The answer is simple, I avoid those places, period. When I was employed I would go to and from work or the store to pick up whatever necessities and even this was a struggle. Since I live at home with parents I do not have to go out for anything as they do all the shopping. So my condition worsens.
Do you sigh or bite yourself on the inside of the cheek?
ANSWER: I sigh a lot.
What are you most afraid of? What is the worst scenario you can think of?
ANSWER: What I fear the most is embarrassment. I just feel over whelmed by people to where I start to have a panic attack where I lose all self-control and as a result I draw everyones attention from this. Im my worst enemy, I think to much therefore I make my worst fears come true from not being able to control myself in a public setting.
Do you have a lot of air / gas in the stomach?
ANSWER: That depends on what I consume. If Im nervous I will develop gas yea and indigestion or diarrhea.
Are you a hot or cold person, physically?
ANSWER: Id say Im more on the warm side. I do like to sleep with a box fan sitting on my bedroom windowsill with window open to get fresh air in when I sleep, it gets hot under the sheets.
Afraid of the dark?
ANSWER: No, maybe after a couple days drinking binge when youre nerves are shot to hell, will I then maybe feel a little afraid of the dark, mostly paranoid about someone braking into my house so I sleep with my shotgun nearby, but only after drinking heavily, other than that, Im not fearful at all of the dark.
Can you ever have a sense of a lump in your throat?
ANSWER: Sure I can.
Other things you can think of?
ANSWER: Not really, other than losing control and embarrassing myself, thats pretty much what it boils down to.

Thanks for your answers, very good! You respond in a way that makes it easier for me to see what kind of medicine you need. :-)
I see at least 2 different drugs, maybe 3 The trick here is to determine who should come first.
Would also say that alcohol can make it very difficult to get the medication to work properly. Especially one of them. Alcohol is also not a solution to your problems, so the first thing you should do is to stop all consumption of alcoholic beverages. But it is of course something you must decide yourself.
Back to homeopathy.
Have you ever been called hysterical?
Embarrassment. Can you tell us more about this. is it such that you are afraid that others will see that you are not good enough? Or what do you say?
How is it going to the toilet if there are any nearby. Can you do what your buisiness, without difficulty ?
Okay, let's see what you respond to this before we proceed.

$87: And thus the physician obtains more precise information respecting each particular detail, but WITHOUT EVER FRAMING HIS QUESTIONS SO AS TO SUGGEST THE ANSWER TO THE PATIENT, so that he will be misled to answer yes or no; else he will be misled to answer in the affirmative or negative something untrue, half true, or not strictly correct, either from indolence or in order to please his interrogator, from which a false picture of the disease and an unsuitable mode of treatment may result.
$88: If in these voluntary details nothing has been mentioned respecting several parts or functions of the body or his mental state, the physician asks what more can he be hold in regard to these parts and these functions, or the state of his disposition or mind; but in doing this he only makes use of general expression, in order that this informants may be obliged to enter into special details concerning them.

I think that you should stop the other homeopathic treatments and use Medorrhinum 1M. That is the smartest recommendation thatI see here, and could dissolve your problem.

Do realy think this is Mendorrhinum ?

I belive that this is Natrum Mur, and maybe later; Argentum Nitricum.
Could also be that he have to start with Ignatia.

Well, the figwart miasm is at the root of this problem for sure! There could be elements of Nat-M. It's sometimes difficult to get the necessary information over the net. How often do we know the remedy for a complete stranger without even speaking to them.
I would recommend that he at least try the Med.

Parakletos, I am trying to sell you aphorisms 87 and 88 of the organon on case taking :)
FYI, Ignatia is not an anti-sycotic medicine at all. Nat-m has some very weak anti-sycotic properties e.g. it doesn't even cover the basic sycotic symptom of 'suspicion' on the mental plane.
Arg-n although a strong anti-sycotic isn't quite indicated here, as it does not cover the central theme of 'delusion, watched he is' in this case.
Calcarea Carb as (JewishHomeopath suggested this), which is a strong anti-sycotic, is indicated quite strongly. However, Medorrhinum';s indications are even stronger.
