Acute ear infection please HELP! Page 6 of 8
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Actually rather than waiting I would give him a dose of Sac-alb right away. It also shows a picture of intermittent fevers, nausea, vomiting.
If Sac-alb does not help him the remedy Ant-tart shows this picture of vomiting, lethargy, sleepiness. Do you have that one in stock?
I am doing volunteer clinic today so I am not be able to get on to the net too easily. I will however try to check in as often as I can.

I gave him a total of 3 doses today, each time he complained of pain in the throat. It seemed to have helped the pain. Appetite came back some also after each dose. Lethargy and fever remained. He wasn't as clingy as he usually is when he is ill. Face flushed. Very tired. He is asleep now.

Okay I assumed you were very busy yesterday. At around 1 he was restless, wasn't crying, was wide awake and complaining that his throat really hurt.
So i went ahead and gave him ant tart 200c (one drop in half a cup of water, with 2 hits).
THe pain settled a bit after that, he didn't complain as much but was still wide awake until about 2:45.. where he fell asleep and has been sleeping thru since (it's 7:30 am now). He's still got fever and hot to the touch.
This time when sick tho, he's not crying on/off thru the night (which he usually does when ill).
Will post again when he wakes. I hope you are still awake and can tell me what dose to give him when he wakes up.
Thanks so much,
karina

Ant-tart was actually the back up remedy if Sac-alb didn't help. Since you have started it we probably should continue with it.
Repeat the remedy when he wakes if he is still sick, and then again in 4 hours if necessary. We can discuss the next step depending on what happens.
Remember not to repeat if he is markedly better.

ok i will repeat now. He's flushed, and warm to the touch, but when i checked his temp with the thermometer it reads at 99. But flushed, and lethargic, red eyes... complaining of throat and lip hurting. (It was cold yesterday and his lips get affected)
Should i continue the same way- the dose? or more hits? or more wateR? or less water?

Hi David,
Just a friendly suggestion:
Complaining from pain
Painful lips from cold
Throat is painful
In my mind, you should go with Hepar Sulph
Good luck,
Sameer

Ok here is the status: he doesn't have fever anymore, he's normal to the touch. Less flushed, was playing. Appetite or thirst hasn't returned much as yet. Not as lethargic. Not really complaining of a throat pain, but when asked he says it's still there a little bit.
THe lips did look a little swollen in the morning upon rising, but that seemed to have eased up. I forgot to mention it was freezing last night so we had the heater cranked- not sure if that affected his lips as well.

So he is greatly improved from the sound of it, is that right?
Not sure how long it was since that last post (it is 6am here) so can you give me an update. Need to work out whether he needs more of the Ant-t or if it is better to wait.

I just gave him that one dose in the morning, did not repeat ... i noticed he was playing some, a little whiny but nothing more than that. He stopped complaining of a pain in the throat after 2 pm. He did complain of a lip pain on and off, but nothing too much.
He does not have fever. He is still a little flushed, with eyes a little 'glassy', red cheeks, red lips.
Energy level: on a scale from 1 to 10, he's a 6... so for being sick, i didn't think it too bad.
THANKS!!!!!
karina
Tell me if i should repeat before bed

he slept well, but was grinding his teeth. He says he has no more sore throat. appetite seems back. He had a small uncontrollable bm, basically in his pants. Not sure why that happened cuz other than that he seems fine. it was slimy.

The sore throat was new. He seems to have just one uncontrollable bm when sick, he had it with the ear infection as well

Oh yes. The vomiting is unusual. Happened once before. But the lethargy, glassy eyed, flushed cheeks is his standard look with any acute. Its how I know he is sick or even getting sick. He becomes clingy, very needy, very low tolerance of pain, will not forget or distract himself from the illness until the symptoms are gone. He gets into a zone, all he can think about is his illness and the pain it is causing. Even his sleep then becomes restless. Crying out due to the illness. I have to try really hard to get him into a different frame of mind. He gets sick, but sometimes I feel his negativity of the situation makes him sicker. Its this same type of stubbornness I see normally. If he wants something, he will insist on it. Never forgets. Very meticulous. Everything on his person has to be perfect. His shoes, socks, hairstyle. does not like change. Catches him off guard.

Yes he is not complaining of any pain. Nor does he have any fever. He is still sweaty and grinds his teeth in sleep.

So we have brought him through yet another acute. Just watch him for a few days to see what we need to do next. Watch his behavior too to see if that is still improved.

There were a few differences with this acute versus all the other past acutes.
This one was shortlived (2 days as opposed to 4-5 days).
Fever lasted 1 day, and the highest it reached was 101.9, as opposed to lasting 3 days and the highest going as high as 104.
He did have one restless night, but he didn't cry out in sleep, just was talking that he had pain. (as opposed to crying out and screaming)
He was less clingy, less whiny.
He wasn't in demand of me 24/7.
He seems to be good today, slept well, energy is good. Appetite is back since yesterday.

Ok then it was a healing crisis. The Ant-tart clearly took care of it quite efficiently.
As usual, just watch and wait. We need to see if his normal chronic symptoms reassert themselves (desiring attention, hyperactive etc).

he has been fine. If he gets sick he's quick to recover with a dose of china. He still grinds his teeth at night (sometimes) mainly before he is getting sick. Other than that... a cough will linger a bit after an illness... but goes away... nothing too serious... he's been really well..
so thanks ALOT.
The one thing i do want to work on is his bladder at night, he seems to pee a lot at night.. not sure why.

How often is a lot? Is he making it to the toilet or bedwetting?
Sounds like a tiny bit of his disease remains - but it is great to hear that China is helping him so much.
Anything else that hasn't changed (in terms of more day-to-day issues or problems)?

Oh wow, you are still around. Thank you so much for your reply.
Ok here is the exact scenario.
These are ways he improved, just from the last treatment: less, much less frequency in getting sick. Even when he got sick, it was of short duration, and not severe at all.. a fever would last couple of hours for example. He became a little bit more independent, and much more cooperative - listened more etc. Even when sick, didn't become lethargic as he used to, or clingy. Continued daily activities. Bowel movements changed dramatically. He goes everyday at a certain time.. no issues there. Eats a variety of foods, including veggies and fruits.
Ways he didn't change: he is still in diapers at night because he pees a lot. I have tried to let him be without one, but he wets the bed, and doesn't even wake up with a wet bed. I've tried waking him up to use the bathroom.. once i did up to 3 times in a night, every 2-3 hours, and it still wasn't enough.... he still wet the bed. He still grinds his teeth in sleep, some nights worse than others. It's loud. He drinks water before bed, but even nights when he doesnt drink, he still has a loaded diaper in the morn.
He pees frequently thru the day, and it's a lot when he goes. He has good bladder control and is able to hold for a while.
Two weeks ago, he woke up in the middle of the night with a right ear pain. I immediately gave him china 200c with about 10 hits.... it worked.. and the pain subsided. I gave him about two doses, but i noticed a change in his behaviour that day... he became angrier, more defiant, and spoke back at me.. not his usual 'diplomatic' behaviour.
His cough lingered, waking him up at night, so i gave him a dose of ant-t (as last time) with about 4 hits. I ended up giving him a total of 3 doses, increasing the hits. Last dose had 8 hits.
His demeanor calmed, very passive... really nice, really independent. Cough reduced.
I noticed if he wakes up at night, it's always between the hours of 10pm to 1am. After that, a cough never troubles him.
His grinding and bedwetting continues. A lot is a very heavy, heavy diaper. I have to source out the toughest overnights so it doesn't leak.
Again thanks so much!!

Seems to me that perhaps neither the China or the Ant-tart is exact enough. Close, both useful to push him out of his acutes, and even to change the pattern of them so that they are not so bad - but what is underneath seems to be more stubborn than that.
However good long term improvements too from the look of it. So we are definitely close.
I dont have all my reference books here with me today so I would like to have those with me to make a considered step from here.
So is his behaviour all good now, or are there still areas that cause problems?
