Dear atiyask

Given your symptoms, i would like you to take Nux vom. But you are already under the care of another homeopath, so i hesitate to override his/her suggestion unless you are not under their care anymore.

Also one can not mix up suggestions from two different people as the medicines may interact.

May be you can try to talk to your homeopath about the concerns you wrote here and see what comes out of that.

Yes people are going to ask questions like those ones.

A) As long as they are conservative about dosage and use common sense(if they notice any discomfort or any untoward symptom they must stop the remedy and must report appropriately) they are going to be fine with remedies. Homeopathic remedies are safe and are gentle for mothers and foetus.

B) Not sure why arnica 6c was chosen. It's not a widely used potency for arnica.

Thank you very much- will put
this to good use.

the arnica 6c was a nursing mom
using the ' lifelong' joepathy
for blood sugar ( was pre diabetic)

Oh I see, Simone. Personally I won't be able to recommend such questionable stuff to carrying or nursing mothers, but it's upto an individual to follow any such stuff if that helps even a wee bit and there's no better alternative.

Dear Maheeru,
Thanx a lot for ur precious help.I will ask my doc and let u know. Also in ur other posts I have read that these tissue salts should be taken for every alternate week only.I would like to know if I should also take Five phos and Alfaalfa Tonic every alternate week??The meds which my doc has given me has given me no relief from evenin nausea n hyperacidity n heartburn. So I would like to know in how much doses should I take Nux Vomica? How many pills/how many times a day/for how many days??Also will it be safe to consume alongwith the 5 phos and alfalfa tonic? Thanks n regards..

Yes i did suggest that tissue salts be taken on alternate weeks. But in a short term, say for 3-4 months, this alternation doesn't matter that much. But if tissue salts are going to be taken for a long time, then it's the best way to take. This way there won't be any overload of salts in the system.

About alfalfa, it's for weight gain and for nutritional supplementation. After 2-3 months, i think it's better to stop this. In the later legs of pregnancy, weight gain can become an issue.

It's not advisable to mix remedies. Before you would like to start Nux, talk to your doc. to understand what medicines are being given to you. If nux is also a medicine that's being given, you might want to try it alone excluding other medicines including alfalfa. Tissue salts are ok though.

I would have liked you to start with Nux. 30c two times a day for some days. But please do not start this when you are already taking medicines prescribed by your doctor. There could be interaction between medicines.

Dear Maheeru,

One month ago I have visited a homeopath to start a constitutional treatment. I was given one remedy but the homeopath did not say which remedy it was. He only said to take it for 10 days diluted in water, and that the effect of the remedy is to last for up to a month.

Two weeks ago (and also two weeks after taking the remedy) I have started feeling all sorts of physical complaints, from backache to laryingitis, to chest pain and drowsiness. I can't say for sure that this is due to the remedy but might be.

This wouldn't be a problem if I could contact him to report that I have all sorts of complaints but he is currently on holidays and I can't get in touch with him for two weeks. Is there a way to antidote the homeopatic remedy? I read coffe is one possibility.

Thank you!

Dear Andorinha

Nice to see your message.

The reasons you mentioned above are why i don't recommend people go to homeopaths who do not divulge the name of the remedy and those who conveniently go on holidays when the patient is not doing so well.

What we're doing while you were carrying was also constitutional.

You might try drinking a few cups of coffee or even black coffee to anti dote if that does not work, you might try a few doses of nux vom. 6c. But would your h'path be happy if he comes to know that you antidoted a remedy that was 'supposed' to work for a month? That's a thing you need to consider before you do any of the above.

maheeru last decade
Dear Maheeru,

I tried coffee but I didn't take it very well because I became very nervous and nausated. I also tried Nux v. but the problems remain.
I have seen a doctor who says it might be related with laryngitis and reddend ears and should stop by itself within one week or so. I explaind him that I am feeling this strange dizziness for about 3 weeks now but she didn't seem much worried.

I will not proceed with the h. treatment because it realy is not right that the homeopath doesn't want to tell me which remedy I am taking.

Thank you for all your kind help!

Yes you can give a week's time to see if things settle down.

But if they persist, please write down those complaints. We'd find a remedy for the symptoms you have got. That in effect will anti dote the negative effects from the previous remedy.

Simone717: Thank you for your kind suggestion. I love massages :) but I sincerely hope they don't antidote the homeopatic medicines because I have been practising both for a long time now!

Maheeru: The symptoms I mentioned in one of my previous posts, still persist. I have a feeling of diziness and drowsiness and I believe the cause might be of emotional/psychologic nature. This week I have also seen an oftalmologist and everything seems to be ok with the eyes. I fear it might be signs of depression. It is hard for me to concentrate, I don't sleep much because of the baby, I wake up unrefreshed and tired, and I am quarrelsome wich is not 'normal' for me. I will be able to find out which medicine I have been given on Monday, since I have an appointment with the homeopath I visited. I will not continue my treatment though. In the last month I have had two episodes of tonsillitis which I hadn't had now for almost 20 years, since my childhood (then I had it very often). I have been given antibiotics twice and I felt horrible and guilty because I am still breastfeeding and I know it's harmful for my child. I have also seen a nutritionist for my diet and because I have very low levels of iron and he said my diet is quite balanced and not to worry because this is due to breastfeeding.
Since my energy levels are so low and also my immune system can I take something to fix it even if I don't know what medicine I have been given?

Another question is regarding my older son (4 years old): he had a mononucleosis and can't seem to get better. He is very weak, has to sleep in the afternoon (normally he is active and up all day), at night he has blocked nose and his breathing is difficult and loud. He still has swollen glands and says his neck and back hurt sometimes.

Thank you. Andorinha

Hi Andorinha

It's upto you to decide whether to follow your h'path or discontinue with him.

From what you wrote, i'd like to recommend Lycopodium to you. If you decide to do this(not mixing with your h'path's any future suggestion) then you need to take Lycopodium 30c one pill daily for a week and report changes thereafter. If you see any negative symptoms in between, then please stop it and report appropriately.

For your son, please give him, sulphur 30c one pill early in the morning one hour before brushing for 4 days and report changes in 10 days.

Dear maheeru,

It turn to you once more in great distress. I am suffering from recurrent tonsilitis, it has happend six times in a year. Each time I was given antibiotics, and each time I got a worse bout of tonsilitis.

It happens realy quickly, I only feel chills a day before and the next day i have very swollen and enlarged tonsils with white patches. It always starts on the right side and then moves to the left. Along with this I have white tongue which shows teeth imprints at sides. There is also much salivation. I feel worse for swalloving and better for eating solid food. Hot drinks also relieve the pain.
In my search for homeopatic medicine I have read on this forum in one thread that it can help taking Mercurius iod. flavus 3x or ruber (depending on which side started the tonsilitis), 2 doses each day for a month. I would like to have your opinion on this matter? Is it safe to take this? I am currently on antibiotics for yet another bout of tonsilitis, can I take this homeopatic remedy along?
Another suggestion I found on the forum was a kind of 'immunization' for people suffering from tonsil problems: Psorinum 1M and Tuberculinum 1M. Instructions were the following: 3 doses of Psor 1M at the interval of 15min, to repeat after each week for 4 weeks and after that the same for Tuber 1M.

What is your opinion?

Thank you very much.

Dear Andorinha

Did you take Lyc. doses as mentioned in my last post?

'It always starts on the right side and then moves to the left.'

Does it move to the left side leaving the right side relieved or just spreads to left side along with the right side?

maheeru last decade
Dear Maheeru,

Yes, I did take the Lyc. as you suggested. However I didn't observe any changes.

It starts on the right tonsil wich hurst and then rather quickly moves to the left tonsil. The right side then stops hurting but is still enlarged. When it starts on the left there is also pain in my left ear.
The apperance of the throat of this last episode of tonsilitis was strange, rather like purple. It also hurts more when I go to sleep and at night.

Other symptoms I have but are not related to the tonsilitis: I worry about my heart a lot, occasionally i feel pain around the heart area and have this constant preocupation i will get a heart attack. I also sweat a lot, not only when I have PMS but every day now, it's like menopause. I noticed lately my fingers on hand are swollen after i do some physical activites like running or going to the mountains or just doing something less demanding. I have almost completely stopped exercising because i fear my heart will stop. This swelling of fingers causes me great anxiety because i fear it is related to the heart.
Occasionaly i have quite strong desire for alchohol.

Thank you for your kind help,

Andorinha

'I noticed lately my fingers on hand are swollen after i do some physical activites like running or going to the mountains or just something less demanding.'

Have you checked for gout? Is this a new symptom?

Any ways still Lyc. seems a good choice.

Please try Lycopodium in 200c. Take one pill twice a day for 4 days.

Observe changes and report later. This can be taken along with the modern meds. you are taking now.

Hi Maheeru,

I just wanted to report back after the Lyc.200. All of my symptoms have gone and I feel very well, my energy levels are very good after a long time. Thank you for your suggestions and kind help.

I have another question though. I am having all of my old amalgam fillings replaced, I have quite a lot of them, and I started pas July, and will finish this month as only one remains. I didn't want to do all at one time as was suggested because I am afraid of the toxicity of mercury. My dentist suggested to take Chlorella algae along with the treatment but since I am very reluctant to taking anything I don't know or trust I didn't take it. I know this isn't a homeopathic question but still would like to ask you if Chlorella is safe. I trust your judgment. Is there a homeopathic alternative for detox?

Can I use Calendula tincutre a few drops in a glass of water as a substitute for a mouthwash?

Thank you. May God bless you.

So good to hear that your problems are gone and you feel good energy-wise.

Yes chlorella is safe and a good detoxifier. Also cilantro(chinese parsley) when precedes chlorella, makes the detoxification effective.

http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/196593/

In the above post i have given pointers to deal with amalgam removal. But since you are finishing the removal this month, i don't think you might require the homeopathic detox.

No calendula is not a substitute for a mouthwash. I'd think mouthwash itself is not adequate like brushing twice esp. brushing once before retiring at night.

Thank you Maheeru! So much valuable information on the link you have given.

This week I had 2 amalgam fillings replaced and still have 3 amalgam fillings to be replaced a month from today, so I will take Merc sol.30ch and then start with Chlorella.

God bless,
andorinha

Dear Maheeru,

I am again in need of your help.
It started a month ago when I started feeling pain in my left kidney, left groin region, my back and hip were painful too, spreading to the left leg. I was diagnosed with cystitis and given antibiotics. However, I did not experience any pain while urinating except very frequent urinating (especially at night. It is true I did not drink much and am quite thirstless all the time. Kidney is fine now, but my back and hip still hurt and I have a very bloated abdomen.
I had an ultrasound of the abdomen done this week which showed a cyst on left ovary (4cm), cyst is said to be filled with water fluid. My period is also late (5 days) and this never happend before, I was always on time. I visited a gynec. who said the cyst should disappear and if not he would prescribe medication.
I am feeling very insecure, unfocused, my mind is always on the health problem. I dread surgery or going to hospital. I dread the cyst bursting and ending up in an emergency room. I am also going through a lot emotionally, I have very frequent disputes with my husband and am under a lot of stress. We are in a very difficult situation right now.

Thank you,

andorinha

Hi Andorinha,

You may want to click Maheeru's name
and see his email and alert him you are on.

People do get email alerts on threads, but lately the email alerts on here are not
working that well-and prescribers do not read the forum everyday.
