I hope that I did not make your suspicion untrue, because that would mean that we have no idea about any remedy yet...

Did my answers prove your doubt right or wrong? (no need to tell about the doubt itself)

I am considering the options now. I will sleep on it and come back with an answer in the morning.

Meaning the case is not so clear. You can think on it, but if you want you can ask more questions.

I guess my extra explanation did not help you?

Anyways, good night.

No it did help quite a lot. It was just very late when I looked over your post again and I was too tired to continue reading.

You have to realise that before I prescribe a medicine, I go through all your main symptoms again, and I have to read through dozens of essays in our materia medicas. I may even check other homoeopath's cases cured by that remedy. I may need to check each of your symptoms one at a time in the repertory. It takes time and I cannot do this when I am tired.

Homoeopathy is hard work, very hard. People often seem to think we pull remedies out of thin air. Some prescribers will give that impression with their constant changing of remedies based on one or two symptoms. But the reality is that homoeopathic prescribing is quite difficult. As Hahnemann said in our Organon of Medicine, the finding of the simillimum is a laborious process.

After some study, I would like you to get hold of Cubena 200c and take a single dose as per Split Dosing instructions.

Interesting. Could you tell me more about the remedy Cubena 200C?

Why did you particulary chose that one, what symptoms match me, which other cases have had similiar treatment etc.

I am asking because I did not find any info on Cubena 200c.

I used the Group themes and Miasm to arrive at the remedy, and then confirmed the choice through materia medica. Cubena is not a well known remedy however and there is, as with many of our smaller less-used medicines, only a small amount of information on it.

The group themes of the plant group to which Cubena belongs (the Piperaceae family) are Boredom, Monotony, Unexciting, Bland and the opposite which is Desire for amusement, excitment, change, travel, entertainment, parties.

So the feeling of this group of remedies is that life has lost its flavour, its interest, its excitement. There is a kind of flatness in the feelings, where they feel stuck in a rut, life has become one-dimensional and monotonous. Boredom becomes a huge problem for such people.

Instead what these people crave is the excitement, spice! Pepper is also a member of this family - you use pepper to spice up a bland meal. When life is mundane, a daily grind, the Piperaceae group of remedies fantasize about nightclubs, parties, adventures, travelling, sex, love - all the things that make life interesting and exciting.

Cubena itself is the Leprous member of that family. Here the miasm adds to a new quality to the plant group feeling. 'Isolated because of their boredom'. Isolation is a strong part of this miasm. Remedies belonging to this miasm avoid people, feel they are looked on with contempt, have feelings of disgust around their disease, often feel that God or the Universe is punishing them by inflicting this disease upon them (as the Leper often feels). The leper, through no fault of their own, is rejected and forsaken by others, cast out because of something that is not their fault.

Specifically Cubena has the folllowing symptoms which relate to your case:

Feels very unfortunate
Dullness, sluggishness, difficulty of thinking
Envy on seeing others happy (shares this with Helleborus)
Envy to see others happy and healthy
Fear about his social position
Strike, desire to

Cubena is much disturbed about their health and their social position. They often regard themselves as an invalid and feel much self-pity. There is aggressive behaviour, and impulse to swear at people or strike them out of anger. They get angry looking around at how others have good lives, have healthy bodies and happiness. They feel it is unfair that God has cursed them with their problems, when others can enjoy all the pleasures of life.

Wow that really sounds like my case.

Will order the remedy soon enough. I hope that I won't have to try out many more remedies, so much hopes (again) are pinned on this one.

One more question: have you had patients earlier whom you gave this remedy? (Cubena)

No I have not used this remedy before. I have used other members of the plant family - Pip-n, Pip-m - but not this one. I have used many other Leprous remedies though so I feel I have a good grasp on that miasm when I see/hear it.

This doesn't matter, as I prescribe remedies for the first time every week in my own clinic. As long as you trust the method for arriving at the remedy, there is no cause for concern.

I find that I may mix up Leprous remedies and Animal remedies at times, since both feel cast out and looked down upon.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Thats interesting. Could you explain that 'Strike, desire to' as the last symptom?

Will be getting the remedy asap.
On a sidenote, what was the fastest similimum you ever found?

badshah19 last decade
Fastest in what way - to work for the patient, or for me to find it for them?

Strike means to desire to hit those people that make them angry or upset them. It is a violent feeling, but not murderous.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
For you to find them

O, thats me lol

badshah19 last decade
hmm interesting. Sounds like it could be my remedy also but it isnt it. Fits only superficially, not address the underlieing issues

Sometimes I can find the simillimum on the first prescription - that happens more often now that I use the Sensation Method. Sometimes it takes 6 months. Some people, I never find that remedy.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
That last sentence properly freaked me out Dr David. That better don't happen to me, else I'll be one real unlucky guy.

Homoeopaths are just people. We are not infallible and sometimes we fail. As I sometimes say to clients who want full assurance of cure - I am not God. I am just a man and while I can try my hardest, I have limitations.

However, 80% of my clients get improvement, so I think the odds for you are still good.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
I know that sir. Its just that it would be pretty sad for me to be part of those unlucky 20%, already being so unlucky. But we have a pretty good overview of the case and quite a few symptoms.
A general question, is it not possible to cure something with a specific remedy if a simillimum is not found? For example how a remedy presribed by Dr Joe Livera helped some patients to cure their gyno.

badshah19 last decade
Any more questions to ascertain Cubena 200C or not?

badshah19 last decade
How many cases do orthodox doctors cure? Very few. We do remarkably well in homoeopathy. It is not the number of symptoms that matter, but the right symptoms. I am hampered by not seeing you in person, not seeing your gestures and hearing the tone and pace of your voice. So much is said in the consultation that provides clues. Even being able to observe the patient in their facial expressions, their body language is helpful. Here we rely only on the written language and it is limiting.

You may want to ask for and closely examine any case that supposedly shows cure of your illness. Don't let yourself be talked into trying pseudo-homoeopathy on a vague reference to a cured case somewhere. I know people get desperate and get lured into psuedo-homoeopathy, but it will not cure you.

I am as sure of the Cubena as I can be.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Yes you are right about not being able to see me and see the expressions etc.

True, when we get desperate, we end up doing things we regret lateron. But knowing how unlucky I usually am, I just hope that I'm part of those 80%

Might order it tommorow.

badshah19 last decade
Why might? Why are you so hesitant? There will be no way to tell what Cubena might do for you, if you don't try it.

How are you still paying for the aggravation on Lac-caninum? I thought you said you had returned to the state before taking that last dose?

There is no point being afraid of aggravation. It is part of homoeopathic treatment, it is part of nature's method of cure. Even aggravations and provings increase the health and strength of the vital force, as was Hahnemann's observation.

Assuming you cannot be cured will never get you cured. If you do not try, then yes, you will remain the way you are for the rest of your life. Are you saying you would choose that?

Either you make the effort or you remain the way you are. That is your choice. Success will only come with attempts to achieve it. Sitting passively will always mean failure.

Pharmacists are used to seeing patients return again and again. That is their daily experience - she will not even really notice you specifically.

I ordered the remedy some days back and will normally get it tommorow.

I have one prob, after taking lac can, I have had much more sexual feelings than before. I had stopped getting erections for a while before, but now it is just like few years back where I was pretty much addicted to porn and masturbation. I had succesfully reduced all this in past year, but everythings becoming a mess again..
Keep that in mind sir.

badshah19 last decade
Suppressed feelings and emotions often come back up during treatment. Suppression is a big cause of disease in humans.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Even suppression of bad things such as too much sexual activity?
