8 month old with catarrh
My old month old daughter has had catarrh in her nasal passages for a couple of weeks. I thought she was coming with a cold and so gave aconite a couple of weeks ago. I thought was from swimming and a/c (we live in a very hot country). Then we took a flight this weekend and although she seems v happy in herself, no cough or anything, she just has this constant 'sniffle' and catarrh. Sometimes at bedtime she finds it hard to breathe to drink her milk, but apart from that there are not really and symptoms apart from the 'noisy sniff' and occasional dry discharge from her nose (not 'runny').Please can you advise what I should give her, or is this where I should just leave her immune system to get her well as I have already treated her?
Also please can someone clarify that if I gave aconite and then pulsatilla for example, what is the gap and what are the doses (e.g. one per day for 3 days?)..as I read on here giving different remedies quickly after each other can cause 'serious illness' and I was under the impression that homeopathy couldn't cause illness, or really be overdosed (although I stringently follow the 'law of the minimum dose').
For my information, if giving aconite at the start of a cold, how many doses over how many days for adult and baby?
Many thanks in advance.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give one dose of Lycopodium 30 in the night. Dont repeat. This should clear teh noisy sniff.
After this give one dose of Antimonium Crud 30 - 1 dose only. This will clear the cold symptom, esp in the summer.
I can clarify your other doubts after you post the result of these two medicines

Hello reva
Many thanks for your reply. I have done the Lycopdium tonight so will let you know results tomorrow. I'm afraid I don't have any Antimonium Crud 30 in my family or emergency kits. I live in a place where it's not easy for me to get homeopathy, but I can get it in 3 weeks from the UK. Is there an alternative or should I wait?
If you could let me know on the one point which I read on this forum about giving too many and/or the wrong remedies causing serious illness I'd be grateful... Or maybe I should email you? I try my best to use homeopathy for everything, including some immunizations (vaccines and nosodes) and have so far not had to give my daughter any 'medicine' as the homeopathy has always worked (fever- belladonna, cold symptoms - aconite, constipation - celica)...I use the minimum dose law and thoroughly check the remedy descriptions. My husband and I both use homeopathy too. I am just worried about what this guy said about causing serious illness as I though was ok if one remedy didn't work to try another. Thanks for any clarification.

Very good. If you live in UK, you can buy medicines in ebay and may be much faster than getting from outside country.
If you are using low potency and if you are not repeating too often, then you are safe. The exception is Nosode, which should be used only in high potency (200 is safe), but should never be repeated. Few medicines like Ars Alb, Aconite, Rhus Tox, Anacardium, Lach,.. which should be used only 30 or higher potencies. In general stay with 30c and dont repeat too often - then you are ok. The first thing you want to see whether modalities are matching with materia medica. Hot remedies should never be repeated for cold patients and viceversa.
Please write, if things dont improve after a few days.
With Prayers,

Thank you Reva. I don't live in the UK (I am an expat in the Middle East) but am going home to UK in 3 weeks. I can easily get homeopathy there. I will give her the other dose then. Her catarrh is greatly improved today (day 2) and I would say almost gone. Thank you.
Great to know about the nosode. I was told to give one per week for 3 weeks and the potency is 200c. This is from established homeopathic co in UK. I always check with Materia Medica, but to be honest the symptoms didn't match for the Lycopodium you suggestd, but I trusted you from your other posts and it has worked. I will use this forum more often in the future. it can be rather confusing for us lay people trying to use natural medicines, but I think so far we are doing ok! Many thanks again.

Hi Reva.
The catarrh in her nose has gone completely. Thank you.
However, she has a bit of a rattly chesty cough. I don't think it's serious and it could be teething as she is 10 months with no teeth yet and i read the mucus can go back down the throat. She was a bit tired etc after our flight back to the UK so I let her sleep a lot and I did give calc carb as I read this was for slow and painful teething as she was not herself. It seemed to help, its just the cough is still there, but not a lot, but she can't cough up any pflegm. Any advice or should I just leave it? I was thinking 'ant tart'?
From my previous post please can you advise:
1) Nosodes - I give one dose one time?
2) Please clarify what you mean here as I don't understand 'Few medicines like Ars Alb, Aconite, Rhus Tox, Anacardium, Lach,.. which should be used only 30 or higher potencies. In general stay with 30c and dont repeat too often - then you are ok'

For rattling and cough, please give one dose of Antimonium Tart 30c. This will strengthern the lungs to expel the phlegm or dry them out, based on what is right. You can repeat one more time if needed.
If the cough persist, please give a dose of drosera 30, followed by one dose of Nux Vomica 30 in 2 to 4 hours. Hope you dont need to give this.
You can ignore the note 2.
Yes, nosodes should be used very less, only when needed. I would not advice nosode for kids unless, absolutely necessary.
I will be travelling for the next few weeks and you may not get the response promptly. You can take other doctors help during this time.
