Hi Joe

I have read you previous posts with interest but want to be sure i'm ordering the right thing.

For the past couple of years i have been suffering with PND. My nose feel partially blocked most of the time & i have a constant need to clear my throat form the mucus that has gathered there. This also causes me to snore quite a lot where the mucus is vibrating when i breath heavily.

Would Bacillnum be appropriate to take in this instance?

Thanking you in advance

I need help. I think I have chronic catarrh. My symptoms are as follows: constant post nasal drip, constant throat tickling, constant throat clearing, worse in the mornings, chronic congestion, and sporadic sneezing and allergic symptoms. I've tried detox teas, powdered colostrum, plantago drops. I've even cut out coffee and caffeine for several months, but, it always comes back.

Hi Jo
My mum has been diagnosed with cronic catarrh and has been suffering for about 2 years now. Shes been given loads of antibiaotics, followed by nasal sprays etc. The latest nasal spray she has seems to move the catarrh from blocked to constantly running after a few days of use. The doctor has told her to keep using them and persevere as it will eventually go. She also gets cold sensations on the roof of her mouth which tends to be in the evening.

can you suggest anything homeopathic which she can try?

Thanks a concerned daughter

As a student of homoeopathy and a history of lay prescribing for 10 years, I am terribly shocked at the poor case taking that is happening in this thread.

Homoeopathy will come into disrepute when poor case taking leads to poor results.

A chronic problem like catarrh needs proper homoeopathic case taking and proper constitutional remedies given by a qualified practitioner that the patient can visit regularly.

I have serious concerns with the prescribing that is happening on the smallest of general symptoms.

I have serious concerns with the way Bac 200C is being prescribed for catarrh.

Just because the problem goes away so fast may not mean you have a cure. You may have driven the problem in and suppressed it. Take the case properly before you open the drawer with the nosodes in it.

Getting to the bottom of a case takes time , patience on the part of both homoeopath and patient and information that the patient needs to share in a safe and secure environment with confidentiality and a forum is not the place for cures to happen.

Take the case properly please.

Dear Joe,

Very keen to find a remedy for my problem which is a constant feeling of mucous in my throat and having to clear my throat. I am unable to cough it up unfortunately and regularly have headaches. Can you please advise which remedy is the best? Could this also be an allergy of some sort have tried giving up dairy and bread/yeast etc.

Regards,

Philippa

Dear Joe,

Me again, as above. If you would recommend Nux Vomica 6c ,as suggested to another person earlier on in the forum with a similar condition, is the tablet form as supplied by your online shop ok? My symptoms of difficulty swallowing and clearing my throat are always slightly worst after food.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Philippa

I have just purchased 8g Bacillinum tablets. Can you please let me know how to take them and how many. The invoice said a new patient leaflet is enclosed, but it wasn't and no dosage on the bottle.

Thank you.

I am greatly interested in your idea about baccilinum 200 for catarrh. I have suffered for years and have tried so many remedies.

I searched online, and was only able to purchase baccilinum 6c. Do you think this might work if I take it regularly, say 3 or four times a day? Or should I take enough of the pellets to make up 200c?

I’m very excited about this; my husband also suffers. Both our families have symptoms, and our son’s symptoms are increasing.

This could make such a change to our family.

Thanking you in anticipation

Hi Joe,

I have been going through your blog and I need some help. I want to know if Bacillnum would be the right one for me. I'm looking for a suitable remedy. First of all please tell me what exactly Catarrh is. Is it what we call 'PEENASA' in Sinhalese, or is it something beyond that? Because what I have is PEENASA. Here are my symptoms:

* I sneeze.
* I have a little phlegm.
* I have a mild Asthma condition which, I would say, is not so severe but it certainly concerns me.
* I sometimes find myself wheezing especially at night, in the morning when I wake up and when I'm exposed to a lot of dust.
* I have also developed dark circles around the eyes.
* My head feels very heavy when I bend it down.

I am 24 and I have been having this condition for more than 5 years, I would say.
I would be grateful if you can help me with this.
Looking forward to your response. Thank you…

To Udesh

My apologies for this very late response to your post of October 30 which I did not read up to today when I was alerted by the post from Zaffar.

I note that you live here in Sri Lanka and you are invited to meet me in person if you read this post and I can give you the remedy free of charge.

To Zaffar

I do not think that Bacillinum 200 can help you as your problem is not Catarrh.

Your problem is very complicated with 'post nasal drip, nasal polyps and catarrh in throat and chest ' and I shall leave it to the classical homeopaths on this forum to help you.

Problems with throat combined with post nasal, lump in the throat, constanst clearing, hawking is a usual sign of silent acid reflux.

Fact is 90% of people who have it do not experience heart burn or acid related pain because acid goes all the way trough. Along the way the acid fumes make damage on the lining of the throat and the nose, and when those fumes reach the nose it than creates mucus which is dripping in the posterior nares (post nasal drip) and by doing this it is protecting the tissue.

Thus the name SILENT reflux. It is actually quite common but oftenly misdiagnosed because due to the lack of clasic acid symptoms.

Your symptoms should be much more intense when you eat chocolade (especially white chocolate) and drinking soda, eating rafined foods and such.

When you go to ''clean'' food symptoms should be lessened.

You should do nasal irigations with saline (which you can buy or made by yourself) and stick to a Acid Reflux diet for say 2 weeks and observe the symptoms.

Another sure way to find this out is to put a small measuring PH probe down your nose into your stomach which has sensors above stomach and near larynx.

This condition SILENT REFLUX is also called Laryngo Phareagal Reflux you can search it on the web and see if your symptoms match it.

Although the root of the problem is the same as GERD symptoms and pathology is different, as the GERD patient have heartburn and usually only after meals and at night LPR people have small episodes of reflux all the time although in much less severe fashion.

Failed Western medicine actually puts double the dose on PPI's for it, 2 Nexiums per day and at least for 6 months (until you ran out of all the acid)

That is to say how moronic western medicine is.

If this is what you have than you will need to take Joe's acid reflux approach and be patient.

I have just started taking Nat. Phos. 3 tabs after each meals (15 tabs a day) and after two days i think i have some improvement, although i am still without Arnica Wet Dose which is important as Joe mentions.

First be sure what you are suffering from, many doctors aren't aware of the SILENT REFLUX and thus are presribing alergie medicine , antihistamines and such which NEVER DO ANY GOOD because the problem is caused by acid fumes.

As mentioned Joe De Livera that i have to check up from professional homeopath, but i did, my first homeopath prescribed me for depression and post nasal drip, Ignatia Amara 1 M, Allium Cepa 1 M, i used these medicines two monhts but no benefit, then i turned to another homeopath who prescribed Opium 1M, Nat Mur 1 M, Aur Met 1 M and thuja 30 C used two months, At last my third homeopath prescribed me Ignatia Amara 200 C, Kali Phos 200 C and Calc Carb 200 C but did not see any improvement then i stopped. now i am using in combination easily available in my country (pakistan) i have also Laryngo Phareagal Reflux which TheeyaN said in previous post.

Your depression is a result of laryngo phareagal reflux. If you treat your reflux your depression will also be healed.

Believe i know how hard is it to live a normal life with the constant post-nasal drip which you then have to spit out and that is really hard in public, so you have to search for bathrooms, and if you don't spit it out and you talk then your throat hurts, and if you try to swallow it than you even get a wierd chest pain.

You should try Joe De Livera Acid Reflux treatment, when you fix that your depression will be gone.

I dream about the day when i will be post nasal drip free, and it seems so beautiful i can't wait for it!

what do you know about depression? first i have problem of depression and OCD and then Gerd, Depression create Gerd, not gerd create Depression ok

zaffar_consfela last decade
Oh, i am sorry to hear that. I thought it was the other way around.

In my case Gerd (LPRS SILENT REFLUX) was the cause of depresion before i knew what was wrong with me, now i am not depressed, i just feel motivated to eliminate this condition from my life.

I can not let something like this beat me, i need to fight back and beat it.

I am not an expert on depression, but you need to find a reason why you are depressed first if you want to treat it later.

Many times all you need to cure a depression is to open up to one person, being in love with her. Human bond is stronger than any medicine,if you have something or someone to live for than there shall be no room for depression.

thanks for reply, for LPR can i take Natrum Phos 200 C one dose daily.

can gerd/lpr cause breathing difficulties? may be my catarrh and post nasal drip and mucus in chest(in morning) are due to gerd, my ENT doctor said i have also nasal allergy, while i have no sneezing, no runny nose, no watery eyes and nose, but i only feel post nasal drip pls help in this regard, are depression, asthma, catarrh, post nasal drip, gerd, and hepatitis C are curable in homeopathy?

Actually your Asthma could just as well be the symptom of LPR.

You see in regular GERD the acid gets stuck in the esophagus, but it LPR it goes all the way up, and thus the acid fumes also go in the lungs and creates damage over time. So yes, apsolutely it can cause breathing difficulties and asthma.

My doctors also gave me allergy drugs even though i tested NEGATIVE on all allergy tests i even had Nose Deviation surgery.

Non of it helped since the problem is causes by ACID fumes.

Joe De Livera Acid Reflux treatment is

Nat Phos 6X 3 tabs 2-3 times after meals (i take 15 in total per day and have no problems)

and Arnica Montala 30c Liquid dilution Wet Dosing 3 times daily one hour before meals.

I am suffering from sore throat, sneezing, flu, blockage of nostril for the last five years. These symptoms remain for the whole year. My throat is red for the last five years. Some doctors say it is allergy. Since I am suffering from this diseases I feel weakness and exhaustion. I feel that my body is not producing energy from food.

I cannot take milk, yogurt, butter, rice, ghee and citric products like orange, lemon etc. If I take these foods, my throat get red, I suffer from fever, coldness, sneezing, nostril of one side closed (it changes, sometime right or left). When the symptoms are severe I feel pain from throat to ears.
I am also allergic to dust, cold, hot weather like if I enter in summer in closed room I start sneezing. I have lost weight since these symptoms started. Please suggest a medicine to get relief from these symptoms.

Best regards,
Muhammad Usman Ahmad
