If after a week on Arnica you do not notice any improvement I believe that this is because it is not a sty but it is a blockage of the gland which you may have to consult an eye surgeon for advice.

I agree with Joe that you should go back to your eye doctor if there is no improvement within a week, but you could try another remedy while waiting for the eye doctor's appointment.
Have you got rhus-tox 30c? you could try this twice daily for a couple of days (reduce dosage if an improvement).

Joe i is not a sty ...I made that point in the first post.It IS a gland blockage and that is what the eye doc told me.

Soory about the three posts of similar Q'ns ...my computer just hung and was not sure if anything actually went.

Erica, my doc seemed to prescribe everything in 200 strength - take 2pills oince a day for 2-3 days wait a week formula - so all the medicine I already have is 200 potency. Can I use these, or do I have to get a 30c potency?

Also called my eye doc.Hhe says if the chalazion has not grown bigger and no pain I can wait another month - so want to try more homeo. The only option is surgical removal....want to avoid that.

rhus tox should be given in a 30c potency. this would also be a better potency for any others - altho for arnica 200c ok.
advising over the internet means not seeing the patient and 200c is not suitable in this situation without observing in this way.
do you have any other lower potencies like 6c or 12c???

Erica- A day of Rhus tox has made it marginally better- swelling still there...not become bigger in spite of no eyedrops, redness gone. Earlier with no eye drops, the chalazion would grow and become red. How long do I go on?

Spoke too soon? Redness better...size seems same after marginal reduction.
Used Rhustox 200, 2 pills a day for 2 days- I have moved east - the homeo pharmacies here would not give me medication without a consulttion for which they told me had to wait 3-4 days- did nto want to go back to my old homeopath....

Still putting heat once a day definitely - try to do 10 mts before we all rush off to school/work most days

give no remedies for a few days as the 200c potency will continue to work.
if you have had reduction in redness and marginal reduction this is good - now observe and see if this improvment continues.
It would be better to get a lower potency to continue treatment with rhus-tox, so while you are waiting pls try and get lower potency......

Redness reduced, swelling marginally reduced. No drastic improvement. have mailoredered Rhus tox 30 - hope to get it in 3 days - any other things I may need - can you tellme can mail order them also.

as long as the rhus-tox is helping should stick with this, but it could change and it is not possible to say what you could order in advance.

Also he had a bad cold and ear ache for a day. Gave him pulsatilla 30, 2 doses, says the ear is Ok now.

give one dose every hour for 3 doses, then stop giving the remedy - if this helps the swelling then you can give another (ONE) dose of the remedy when the healing effect of these previous doses wears off - do not repeat the dose until the healing effect of the previous doseS has worn off.
You can repeat then again if needed and if the effect wears off again, frequently or less often.
IMPORTANT - IF THE EYE GETS WORSE AFTER THE FIRST ONE OR TWO DOSES DO NOT CONTINUE WITH THE REMEDY BUT COME BACK FOR MORE ADVICE.

1 pill is enough for one dose, but 2 pills are ok (you will just use up the remedy quicker!).
to notice when healing effect of remedy has 'worn off' =If there is an improvment then you will soon notice when improvement stops, this is when to dose again.

Ear Ache again - so waiting for tha tto subside to start Rhustox...will keep you posted.

the rhus-tox could help with the ear also if the symptoms fit, esp. if there is a lot of restlessness with the pain. check out the symptoms.
