Unable to find a remedy that accurately matches my cold symptoms
I've been having a cold for the last 3 days and I've been unable to identify a remedy that provides relief. My symptoms have been changing. It started with sore throat, then aches, runny nose, ear ache, sneezing, itchy throat and scalp. In the last 2 days I've take 1 dose of silica 30C, 2 of Gelsemum 30C, 1 dose of Pulsatilla 30C and this morning about 3 hours ago Merc viv 30C. I'm fairly new to homeopathy although I've been trying to read up about it for the last couple of months am recently bought a home kit. In the past I've taken a remedy only prescribed by a professional homeopath and it did wonders. 3 nights ago, I gave my toddler belladonna 30C for fever and it went down almost immediately. My question: am I harming myself by trying so many different remedies? I've taken them all at least 5-6 hours apart. I'm planning to try oscillococcinum next and would like to know how long I have to wait since my last remedy of merc viv. Thanks in advance.maba123 on 2013-02-16
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
No, you are not harming yourself- this is acute
prescribing, which is different than chronic prescribing.
Dr. Judyth Ullman, a famous classical homeopath says
for flu,
Try 3 pellets of 30 c every 4 hours until improvement,
if no improvement, after 3 doses , give another medicine.
So you can have a gap of 4 hours before trying
oscillococcinum. She suggests when flu is just starting
and no real definite symptoms to use that remedy or
Ferrum Phos. She says consider Bryonia if symptoms have
developed and the person is irritable and thirsty. Gelsemium
if dizzy, drowsy, exhausted, not thirsty. Eupatorium for
deep aching in bones and muscles and feels like bones
are broken, Rhus tox when stiffness is main symptom and made worse by cold
damp weather and better by moving around.-
I gave Aconite to my daughter who after sitting out in
some cold air, came in and seemed to have instant flu-
freezing, chills, and two doses of 30 c stopped the
entire thing in 2 hours.
You can also buy Wellness Formula- online ( don't know
where you are) but I use that also- has been around for
20 years, full of vitamins, herbs, and boosts up your
system and really helps. Only use it when sick so
your body does not get used to it.
