You have to be done with taking remedies-really it is a choice of
what system you are going to use. If you find homeopathy is not
totally curing you and you want to do another system, then you
can go back to acupuncture.

Ok thanks Simone. So many things to be aware of!!

Yes, homeopathy is not like any other alternative system.
It is new to you and takes a bit to get the hang of it.
Most of the time the biggest error is people think, this
works great, I will take some more of it. Then it backfires
and they get back what they had , and it has to wear off.

Or they follow the instructions on the bottles, which FDA
now makes everyone put expiration dates on there ( remedies
can last for over 100 years) and you cannot follow directions
like take 3 pills every 4 hours - when things work-you wait
and do not take more till things return.

A good site is google Mary Aspinwall- she has an informative
site, she is very well known, and she has a free e book on
homeopathy which is simple and used to be a bestseller
years ago.

Definitely makes me wonder about the homeopath I've been using. She never had me take breaks. I was constantly having my potency increased and things were a roller coaster. Would have some decent days, then horrible days, it was never consistent. I was never recommended to take breaks, I've been a remedy of some kind every single day since march. And the daily 1m dose of sepia was the most recent. I want to trust her but confused. And now I feel like she's almost given up on me since my last report to her. Sigh.

Hi Zady,

It's been a week so I'm here to update you on how it's going.

Overall (sleep aside), I feel much better since taking the Nux Vomica than I have in awhile. It's difficult to comment 100% on sleep, because my 7.5 month old has suddenly decided to start waking up multiple times a night. So I don't really know how I'd be sleeping if that weren't happening.

But, I have been able to fall asleep right away every night except 1 night, which is an improvement. It seems about 1/2 of the nights, I've been woken up by my son, and the other half I woke up on my own. I still wake on my own quite a bit throughout the night, but also seem to be able to get back to sleep for the most part without laying there for hours.

But like I said, it's hard to know for sure if sleep is really better or not, because now I'm getting woken up by my son now about 2 times a night. Sometimes he's waking me from sleep and sometimes I'm already awake from having woken on my own. Prior to this, he slept 11+ hours w/o waking, so I was very aware of my sleep pattern and whether or not I was sleeping.

However, the other things that have improved are:

Daytime alertness. I haven't had to fight to keep my eyes open during my commute or at work. This has been extremely helpful.

Overall focus at work is better. I am less distracted (not 100% though), and more able to focus on my job.

Overall mood. I just feel 'happier' and more content in general. I'm less angry/frustrated/obsessed over the lack of sleep.

Obsessive thoughts have lessened. I don't sit and obsess about the things that aren't going well in my life. I still think about it, but find I'm not obsessing about it like I was.

One thing I wanted to add...the questionnaire asked if I was sensitive to noise, and I'm starting to realize I think I am. I was extremely annoyed the other night by some loud motorcycles near my home, and realized I'm always super annoyed when people rev their motorcycles, or someone sneezes EXTREMELY loudly, or yells while watching sports at my house. I get totally irritated by it.

So anyway, there you have it. Even if my sleep doesn't get much better, I'm pretty happy my mood and alertness has improved. Just hoping it stays!

Please don't take Nux Vomica 30 now as it is helping you but probably disturbing your son.

We will come back to it in a week's time.

Take the following remedies for a week:

1) Avena Sativa Q at bed time,
15 drops dissolved in some water.

2) Kali Phos 6X, 4 tablets 3 times a day.

You really think the Nux is disturbing my son? I thought homeopathy was safe during BF? I don't like the idea that the remedies are affecting him...

And his wakings began before I started taking the Nux, they just weren't as frequent as they've been this last week.

Regarding the Avena Sativa, I need to buy that from the website, so do I wait to take the Kali Phos until I get the Avena?

And you say 15 drops dissolved in some water. Does it matter how much water? A small glass ok?

You said your son was sleeping 11 hours before but now waking up frequently.

Homeopathic remedies go directly from mother to the child. We will proceed cautiously.

Start with Kali Phos 6X. If you have to order from a website, then leave Avena Sativa.

We will come back to Nux Vomica but administer it in a different way, till then please take Kali Phos6X

Zady101 last decade
Yes, he was, but began the night wakings before I started the Nux. They are just more frequent in the last week.

So are the remedies safe for him? I don't want to affect the way he feels/behaves, or affect his personality.

stealme last decade
Yes these remedies will help him too.

I am already keeping this in mind, so you need not worry.

Zady101 last decade
Thank you. I'm already disturbed by the 1M dose I was taking from my other homeopath and learning that is really pretty unacceptable even for a non-breastfeeding person.

stealme last decade
Actually Steal me,

The nux clears out 'too much' of anything, drugs, alcohol, remedies, food, etc.

So does Avena Sativa, which is a nerve tonic and also pulls out drugs etc ( it is just rolled oats,
homeopathic potency)

So the nux will be having the same effect on your child, eliminating anything that was done
earlier. It is a good thing and you are reacting well to this.

The kali phos is the simple cell salt for nerves, to heal nerves and cell salts are very safe
and mild.

Thanks for the peace of mind! I've struggled so hard to stay off pharmaceuticals for sleep so I can BF that it upsets me to think I may have been affecting him with something I thought was safe!

Zady or Simone -

I can't locate Kali Phos at my local health food store. It's the only one I'm aware of near me that carries homeopathic remedies.

So, should I just order from this website? If so, should I go ahead and order the Avena Sativa at the same time?

Thanks.

stealme last decade
Yes please order both.

Zady101 last decade
Ok. If I get one before the other is it ok to take them separate? Or should I wait to take them together?

stealme last decade
RX homeo hascell salts and remedies on there from there but on Mother tinctures- Q you
have to order off the ABC, but you cannot
get cell salts off the ABC. so use Vitacost
or the RX homeo.

There are 12 cell salts, the health stores and Whole Foods usually have the 12 in
Hylands brand.

You can start Kali Phos when you get it- you don't have to wait for anything.
Ask Zady about the Avena Sat Mother tincture.

Oh - Avena Sativa is sold in ounces via this website. If I'm to take 15 drops for 7 days, about how many ounces would I need to buy?

Thanks.

Thanks Simone. But oh my, that's almost $50!

Zady - how necessary is the Avena Sativa for me right now? I mean, I can buy it, it's just a bit on the pricey side for me so I'm wondering what impact you are searching for with this particular remedy.

Thanks.

stealme last decade
Well maybe I am wrong on the drops in the tablespoon.
Get a dropper and see how many drops you can drop into a tablespoon,
you may only need 4 ounces or two,

We don't use a lot of liquid remedies here. btw- Zady said earlier,
you don't have to get it- just get kali phos.

Hi Zady,

Just wanted to check in. Still haven't received the Kali Phos that I ordered, so I haven't started that yet. But in the last couple/few nights, I'm not sleeping as well as I was after I did the Nux. I am waking around 1-2 am and not really able to get back into a deep sleep after that.

Also, I'm getting very sleepy/tired again during the day. Struggling to keep eyes open at work.

Curious if you have any thoughts. Is this random, or expected after the Nux 'wears off'?

Also, I now have horrible eye bags and circles. Any remedies out there for that???

Thanks.

stealme last decade
Repeat Nux Vomica just once.
