Hi,

I am on Graphites for the third day and I am desperate.

My eyes are swollen, dry, wrinkled like old woman's eyes. The eczema is not thick at all, it is very, very thin layer (like there were dried glue).
The biggest problem is the swelling. I can hardly open my eyes in the morning. The swelling diminishes a bit after washing the eyes with cold water, and after washing under eye turns red.
My right eye is worse.

There is also a spot of eczema on my right armbend. It is like elephant-skin sticked on the top of my own. The spot is 5x7 cm, clearly seen where it starts, is swollen, very red and extremely dry and scaling off.
I add lotion and lotion, but I have the feeling the lotion doesn't absorb (same feeling with the eyes). Of course it absorbs it, but the skin is as dry afterwards as before.

This morning I woke up the eczema on the bend was bit moist. This was new. After waking up the moist (looked like water) dried off.
My arm is itching a lot at daytime, but not at nighttime. I don't even dare to think what happens if I scratch it, I guess it would bleed.

I was thinking of taking Apis or something for the swelling, but I did not want to mess your treatment. So I took allopathic antihistamine, but it did not help the swelling (so this is not allergic). So far I have not added stereoids, but I really have to fight against myself not to.

Have a merry christmas!

This is aggravation....stop all homeopathic meds. The good thing is that we have hit upon the right med for you.

The aggravation will subside on its own. However, if you think it is troubling you too much, drink some coffee or take a dose of Camphor Q (mother tincture)...which will partially anti-dote the med.

You are on way to cure.

Merry Christmas to you and everyone in your family.

On the rough skin you can apply olive / sesame oil. In each eye you can drop 2 drops of Euphrasia eye lotion.(Homeopathic).

I just have to trust you that this is aggravation, becuase my own trust and belief does not carry out that far.

I have had atopic dermatitis all my life. I visited a homeopath ten years ago and he was treating that with Pulsatilla. After six months I gave up because I did not see good at it.
I did have any ezcema last year, for the first time in my life. Guess what: I was eating several months Graphitis for my cracked heels...

I did think myself I would be Sepia. One reason was that my eczema has been at it's worst when I have been pregnant. So I took Sepia a month ago. After that my skin got worse, but I was happier and I slept better. What do you think of that?

By the way, I have been drinking two cups of coffee every day. Of course not close to taking the remedy.
And I did add earlier to my eyes some homeopathic drops, that is a mix includin also Euphrasia. It helped the itching. I will continue it.

Hello Snowflake,

Use the eye drops. Other than that wait ...don't take any other homeopathic med for 3/4 days. If the swelling in the eye lids and skin patch subside during this time ....then it is certainly aggravation.

What other ailments do you have at present? What ailments you have been through in the past??

Age ?

Keep posting feed back.

What Is Atopic Dermatitis?

Atopic dermatitis is a long-term skin disease. “Atopic” refers to a tendency to develop allergy conditions. “Dermatitis” means swelling of the skin.

The most common symptoms of atopic dermatitis are:

Dry and itchy skin
Rashes on the face, inside the elbows, behind the knees, and on the hands and feet.

Scratching the skin can cause:

Redness
Swelling
Cracking
“Weeping” clear fluid
Crusting
Thick skin
Scaling.

Often, the skin gets worse (flares), then it improves or clears up (remissions).

Who Gets Atopic Dermatitis?

Atopic dermatitis is most common in babies and children. But it can happen to anyone. People who live in cities and dry climates may be more likely to get this disease.

When children with atopic dermatitis grow older, this problem can improve or go away. But the skin may stay dry and easy to irritate. At other times, atopic dermatitis is a problem in adulthood.

You can’t “catch” the disease or give it to other people.

Other Types of Skin Problems

Atopic dermatitis is often called eczema. “Eczema” is a term for many kinds of skin problems. Atopic dermatitis is the most common kind of eczema. Other types include:

Allergic contact eczema. The skin gets red, itchy, and weepy because it touches something that the immune system knows is foreign, like poison ivy.
Contact eczema. The skin has redness, itching, and burning in one spot because it has touched something allergy-causing, like an acid, cleaner, or other chemical.
Dyshidrotic eczema. The skin on the palms of hands and soles of the feet is irritated and has clear, deep blisters that itch and burn.
Neurodermatitis. Scaly patches on the head, lower legs, wrists, or forearms are caused by a localized itch (such as an insect bite).
Nummular eczema. The skin has coin-shaped spots of irritation. The spots can be crusted, scaling, and very itchy.
Seborrheic eczema. This skin has yellowish, oily, scaly patches on the scalp, face, and sometimes other parts of the body.
Stasis dermatitis. The skin is irritated on the lower legs, most often from a blood flow problem.

What Causes Atopic Dermatitis?

The cause of atopic dermatitis is not known. It is likely caused by both genetic (runs in the family) and environmental factors. People with this disease often have other atopic conditions, like hay fever and asthma.

How Is Atopic Dermatitis Diagnosed?

Diagnosis is based on the symptoms. Each person has his or her own mix of symptoms that can change over time. Doctors will ask for a medical history to:

Learn about your symptoms
Know when symptoms occur
Rule out other diseases
Look for causes of symptoms.

Doctors also may ask about:

Other family members with allergies
Whether you have conditions such as hay fever or asthma
Whether you have been around something that might bother the skin
Sleep problems
Foods that may lead to skin flares
Treatments you have had for other skin problems
Use of steroids or medicine.

There isn’t a certain test that can be used to check for this disease. But you may be tested for allergies by a dermatologist (skin doctor) or allergist (allergy doctor).

Things That Make Atopic Dermatitis Worse

Irritants and allergens can make atopic dermatitis worse.

Irritants are things that may cause the skin to be red and itchy or to burn. They include:

Wool or man-made fibers
Soaps and cleaners
Some perfumes and makeup
Substances such as chlorine, mineral oil, or solvents
Dust or sand
Cigarette smoke.

Allergens are allergy-causing substances from foods, plants, animals, or the air. Common allergens are:

Eggs, peanuts, milk, fish, soy products, and wheat
Dust mites
Mold
Pollen
Dog or cat dander.

Stress, anger, and frustration can make atopic dermatitis worse, but they haven’t been shown to cause it. Skin infections, temperature, and climate can also lead to skin flares. Other things that can lead to flares are:

Not using enough moisturizer after a bath
Low humidity in winter
Dry year-round climate
Long or hot baths and showers
Going from sweating to being chilled
Bacterial infections.

People with atopic dermatitis should not get the smallpox vaccine. It may cause serious problems in people with atopic dermatitis.

Which potency of Graphites were you taking for that long???

Are you sure ...the homeopath was giving you Graphites for that long or did he include placebos in the med given ?

Identification of your 'constitution type' might also help in a better understanding of your son's case as well.

Is your tongue coated white ....just like in case of your Mom ??

PANKAJ VARMA last decade
Hi,

A new day, but my condition is still the same. There is less swelling on the arm, but the rush area is like animal skin. Now there is itching on my left armbend, too, but not bad.
My husband said this morning that I have never had this bad eczema.

I am 38 years old. I am 176 cm and 65 kg. Hair is light brown and eyes are green. I am scandinavian.
I visited a doctor because of eczema for the first time when I was 9 months old.
My condition got worse when I was 19 years old and I moved to my own apartment. During those years (19-26 years old; during those years there were a lot of changes) the stereoids were quite hard. The tests show that I have an allergy for birch and a mild allergy for fragnance. (The pollen does not influence the skin at all).
The skin was bad during pregnancies. My second child was born four years ago, after that my skin has been better as ever before.
At the moment I don't have any ailments.
The skin is bad during wintertime. Sunshine helps.

I was eating Graphites 30 c for 2-3 months, almost daily. I took it myself, so it was no placebo. That was exactly two years ago. I don't recall any aggravations, but at the I did not know to look for them. I don't recall having any skin problems.
Why did I not get any eczema then?

My nails are weak and don't grow well. Graphites helped them. I have had one wart on my sole for 10 years. I have been fighting agaist it with a knife last six months and I think I have finally won.
I remember having a couple of solar warts when I was in my twenties.

My tongue is only slighly whitish.

Blepharitis

Definition
Blepharitis is a common and persistent inflammation of the eyelids. Symptoms include irritation, itching and occasionally a red eye. Blepharitis frequently occurs in people who have oily skin, dandruff or dry eyes.

Bacteria are on the surface of everyone's skin, but in certain individuals they thrive in the skin at the base of the eyelashes. The resulting irritation, sometimes associated with over activity of the nearby oil glands causes dandruff-like scales and particles to form along the lashes and eyelid margins.

For some people the scales or bacteria associated with blepharitis produce only minor irritation and itching, but in others it may cause redness, stinging or burning. Some people may develop an allergy to the scales or to the bacteria which surround them. This can lead to a more serious complication with inflammation of other eye tissues, particularly the cornea.

Blepharitis can begin in early childhood, producing 'granulated eyelids' and continuing throughout life as a chronic condition, or it can develop later in life.

Symptoms

Itching, irritation, red eyes
'Gritty' or 'sandy' feeling
Flakes on the lashes

PANKAJ VARMA last decade
Hi,

I don't normally have problems with eyelids so it is not this blepharitis. But I do regocnise this description, it is just like my father.

Sleep: I sleep lightly and wake up easily to noises. I sleep on my side. When sleeping on stomach my neck starts aching, when sleeping on back, my backside starts aching.

Mental feel: I am patient and quite cool. I am theoretical and analytical. I tend to get irritated when things don't go as I want. I have anger deep inside, and sometimes it blows up, when I get mad at my son or somebody's very stupid and irrational.

Digestion: I am very easily constipated. Then I get a pile. Sometimes flatulence, but not every day, I don't know where I get it.

Teeth: I have 3-4 plastic fillings. No ache. (My mom, the dentist, says I will be having a lot of holes in future years.)

Cravings: I crave sugar. I don't like sour.

On your sole..... is it a wart or a corn ????

PANKAJ VARMA last decade
What does a foot corn and foot callus look like:
Corns appear as a horny thickening of the skin on the toes. This thickening appears as a cone shaped mass pointing down into the skin. Hard corns are usually located on the outer surface of the little toe or on the upper surface of the other toes, but can occur between the toes. A soft corn occurs between the toes and are kept soft by the moisture in this area. A callus is more diffuse area of thickening and does not have the focal point of the corn.

PANKAJ VARMA last decade
A corn is a localized thickening of the skin due to pressure. Corns often occur on the top of the toes where there is pressure from the shoes. However, they also occur at the sole of the foot and in between toes. Certain corns may become entwined with the nerves of the skin, these corns are particularly painful. Often corns develop a core which is often referred to as the 'root' by patients. Corns can be very painful, especially if there is inflammation and swelling around the corn.

This condition is more prevalent in females as a result of wearing tight or ill-fitting shoes. Corns appear as white/ gray or yellow/ brown in colour depending on your skin type. Symptoms include pain and swelling around the corn and discomfort with direct pressure.

Good Morning,

I am a little bit better today. The eczema is not that swollen or red. But it as wrinkled, skin feeling tight and looking ugly. I might say it is 20 % better today than yesterday.

It has always been a wart on my foot. Very, very difficult to get rid of. I have tried to different homeopathic remedies outside and inside, and different acids. The wart is inside the skin, it did not hurt, was very hard.

It is still the same day, but the evening. I wrote the last message 10 hours ago.
Now I think my skin is a bit worse again. It is more red. I will be back in the morning.

Hi Pankaj Varma,

Today my skin in my eyes is better. It is remarkably dry and wrinkled, but there is not real eczema anymore. The eczema on my armbend is still looking bad and dry, but it is not that red or thick.

Hello again,

Pankaj Varma seems to be away for longer time. If anyone else has any thoughts, please let me know. Because I think this is not working like it should. I wonder what I should do now.

There is no visible eczema on my eyelids, but the eyes are very swollen, specially in the mornings. The swelling diminishes after washing the eyes with cold water. The washing is aching a bit, it feels like there would be lots of very small cuts on the eyelid below the eye, but it is only a feeling, not real. The feeling passes quickly.
After washing the eyes are a bit swollen and wrinkeled, and the area below the eye is dark and red - they look 10 years older than normally.

The rush on my arm is about 60% better than on Monday that was the worst day of the week. It does not itch or bother me. It is dry and peeling off, but not very red.

I also got two days a ago a 'cut' to the corner of the mounth, left side. (I don't know how it is called officially, but over here everybody comments it is a lack of vitamin b). I have not had that cut for a long time.

The eyes are bothering me the most. They should not be like that.
I add lotion several times a day. It helps only for a short period.
There is not swelling in the evenings, but then there is redness.
Normally I hardly ever suffer from puffiness.
