Help 5 month old kitten with ideopathic cystitis
Hi, I hope I'm on the right site to ask this question. I just lost a 17 yr old cat to cancer 7 months ago. Recently I attopted 2 little kittens (brothers). One has grown much bigger than the other. The little one is very vocal. I feed them wellness wet and some dry wellnes supermix also some wet evolve. I recently found blood on me where the little guy was laying. Also saw him a couple times in the litterbox but when I went to scoop there was nothing there. I took him to the vet and was told he had ideopathic cystic. I will follow up in 10 ten days with a fresh urine sample. They made the dx based on a bladder biopsy because kittys bladder was not dangerously full but they could not express any urine. There were no white blood cells but there was blood. (from the needle in the bladder)? The tech that works in the office said in her 3 years she's never seen a kitten that young with a urinary blockage. I have since seen him use the box (it's hard because there are 2 kitties)and no more blood but still wondering what can I do to prevent any further complications? I swear I will 'lose it' if this little one dies from some undiagnosed problem. They've had all their vaccinations, dewormed, defleaed, etc. Do you have an suggestions for me? Thank you.Calli on 2007-01-03
