LM Potencies

I have a question - are LM potencies safe during pregnancy? My homeopath gave me remedies of LMs 1 and 2, but I just read that LM is too high of a potency. Is this true and has it endangered my baby? Thank you!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
HAhnemann developed Lms because he was concerned about the aggravations he was getting with c potencies. Lms are the most gentle but are deep acting. My concern is- what kind of problem is being treated is it pregnacy related? Lm s, it would seem are more often than not reserved for constitutional prescribing. Which during pregnancy I would be somewhat leary of attempting. I would not be too worried however homeopathy is quite safe. Lms are not really 'high' potenc

How are you taking them? In water? What is the dilution? How often are you taking them? I am not a professional, but as far as I can see, it could be harmful if you take too much. Some people will say LMs will not aggravate; you can take them everyday. This has not been my experience. Do you feel any new symptoms? Do you feel that any old symptoms have gotten worse? If you do, this could be a sign of an aggravation and a signal that you should take less or perhaps stop taking the remedy. If you don't trust your homeopath--and it doesn't sound as though you do--you should probably find another.

- potencies per say , but rather a different scale of dilution, and different means of administration.

Hi treefrog. Yes lms must be monitered carefully , that is why many Docs choose not to use them. When aggravations do occur they can be easily adjusted to a stimulation that is more suitable dose. I think we were writing at the same time . There is no ' take this and come back in a month'.

I did not have any worsening of the symptoms or any side effects. I was treated for migraines in my first trimester with Argentum Nitricum LM1 and LM2, then during the 2nd trimester my homeopath gave me a few different ones for cold - Gelsemium LM1, Hepar LM1 and Kali Bichromicum LM1. All I'm concerned about is if any of these would hurt the baby.

Also - I was taking them in 4oz. water (adding a single teaspoon, then only drinking a teaspoon out of the water), shaking the bottle anywhere from 5 to 10 times. In one of the responses I saw that it could be harmful - do you mean to me or the baby? Thank you guys for your help!

The way you are taking them is not the way Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, taught. The method he taught is to dissolve one pellet in four ounces of water (a remedy cup or bottle) and take one teaspoon from that and place it another cup of 4 ounces of water (a dosage cup). You then take one teaspoon from the dosage cup as your dose. I would recommend finding another homeopath.

I would definitely stop taking teaspoons from the remedy cup, the first cup. That could give you an aggravation.

I recommend that you read David Little's articles on the LM Potencies. When I was taking an LM remedy, I used his advice to modify the dose and it helped tremendously. David Little is a master of adjusting the dose for the speediest, quickest and most gentle cure.

He really believes in Hahnemann's words that 'The highest ideal of cure is rapid, gentle and permanent restoration of the health.'
