Hi Merisel,
To suggest a remedy for your wife , we need all her symptoms:
1. Location of pain , Is it fixed there, or does it radiate to any other part?
2. Type of pain : crampy/ throbbing/ sore/ pricking etc.....
3. What makes the pain better/ worse? ( warmth/ cold application/ rest/ movement/ continued motion/ night/ morning etc...)
4. What are other complaints along with this? ( fever/ gastric disturbances/ bodyache etc...)
5. Onset: When did the Pain start? After any specific activity?
6. Skin surrounding the joint: Is it swollen/ red/ hot/ cold etc...
please keep us posted...

Hi Magicure,
I will start with a little history; about 3 weeks ago she noticed her right foot feeling tight and uncomfortable. It was swollen below the ball of the big toe. She thinks that she is getting a bunion. That lasted up until now. However last night we were out at some friends and we sat talking for about 3 hours before she started to feel the severe pain. This pain has not gone away.
She did put some muscle rub on it, which seemed to relieve the pain slightly.
The answers to your questions are below:
1. Location of pain, In her right ankle more on the inside but all around except the front.
Is it fixed there, or does it radiate to any other part? Fixed!
2. Type of pain : crampy/ throbbing/ sore/ pricking etc..... If she were to put pressure on her foot the pain becomes excruciating. It is constantly throbbing. The sharp pain is in one specific point.
3. What makes the pain better/ worse? ( warmth/ cold application/ rest/ movement/ continued motion/ night/ morning etc...) movement, warmth, always bad pain but seems to be worse at night
4. What are other complaints along with this? ( fever/ gastric disturbances/ bodyache etc...). Nothing noticeable.
5. Onset: When did the Pain start? After any specific activity? The pain started Friday afternoon slightly and came on very strong that night. Dont recall doing anything to bring it on.
6. Skin surrounding the joint: Is it swollen/ red/ hot/ cold etc... Its not red, not hot, very slightly swollen.
The joint feels very tight, to the point that she cant lift her toes (front of her foot) upwards, it creates a very painful pulling sensation through her heel (both sides) and above it. If she were to put pressure on her heel she would have the exact same feeling and pain.
My wife is usually very active and in good health, she also eats well.
She wants to know if she should have it x-rayed?
Looking forward to your response

Hello Merisel,
Your wife is having these complaints since three weeks. So before going ahead with treatment , I would suggest you to get Xray.
Homoeopathic medicines can definitely help the "pain" , but we should first rule out any pathology.

Merisel,
In the meanwhile, we can give her a remedy to help the pain.
I didnt understand a few points in your post:
Better / worse after what? What do you want to say about warmth? Does she feel better after heat application?
Does she CONSTANTLY have pain while walking or does it ameliorate after a few steps?
I think Bryonia can help her , but I shall confirm it after your post.
Regards..

She actually woke up in severe pain around 5:30 am. So we went to the hospital to have it X-rayed and there was nothing there.
The pain seems to be worst at night and during sleep. Warmth makes it worse.
She constantly has the pain while walking.
The doctor at the hospital gave her a prescription for anti-inflammatory. She is hoping that it could be treated homeopathically so that she does not have to take these pills.
She took 3 Tylenol tablets for the pain before going to the hospital, which helped a bit.
Sunday 11:44 am
We had quite a night, my sleep was quite off and I was tired most of yesterday. After awaking today I feel that same as yesterday 55% of the pain in the cecum valve and back of when I first started posting. One thing different is that today my bloatedness is about 15% better. I am still waking up with my right nostril congested.
I forgot to mention yesterday that I had a slight headache starting form the right side of my neck (to the back) moving up to the back right side of my head and I still have it today.

Hello Merisel,
Good that the Xray doesnt show anything wrong.
From your post , I understand that her pain is aggravated by warmth, and is more at night.
Give her Ledum Pal 200, three times a day ( start as soon as possible) Ask her not to eat/ drink anything atleast half an hour before/ after taking the medicine. and she should take 5-6 pills on a clean tongue.
You/ she will have to post any changes/ improvement from time to time.
Take care,
Keep posting...

I was very exhausted last night and forgot to take the last session of Nux V. Today I woke up and all is back to when I first started posting. My back, cecum valve pain, bloating and congestion in the right nostril to back to 100%. I am not enjoying the feeling. My energy level fell to about a 6 out of 10. I am still very much drinking my water.
I will keep the Nux V. 30 & 200 with me today as I am waiting for your reply.

I just spoke to my wife and she said that the pain is the same as it was last night, but better than when she first got it. However her muscles around her ankle is very tight, so tight that she cant put her heel down to walk.
Any suggestions on what she can do?

Hello Merisel,
Is she sure she hasnt sprained her ankle? Please ask her again if she remembers anything before the onset of pain, after which these complaints started.
She is aggravated by warmth, right? Does she feel better by cold application?
Does her pain ameliorate after a few steps?
I hope you have given her all other instructions about taking medicine.
She must have taken 2 doses by now.Lets wait for 2 more doses. If there is no improvement till tommorrow morning , we will evaluate the case again.
If there is a lot of swelling , ask her to sleep with her foot elevated. ( ask her to keep it on a pillow)

See answers below:
Is she sure she hasnt sprained her ankle? Dont recall anything.
Please ask her again if she remembers anything before the onset of pain, after which these complaints started. These complaints started about 3 weeks ago where she had a bit of swelling below her right toe and felt that she was getting a bunion. When she saw the doctor at the hospital he did verify that she had swelling from a bunion.
Her main complaint is that her right foot felt tight below her foot with slight swelling. Three weeks later while at a friends place, sitting for 4 hours, when she got up she had a severs pain in her right heel and could not step down on it.
This pain has been reduced by about 30% prior to taking the remedy.
She is aggravated by warmth, right? Yes!
Does she feel better by cold application? A little
Does her pain ameliorate after a few steps? No, its constant.
I hope you have given her all other instructions about taking medicine. Yes, I printed it out for her to follow.
If there is a lot of swelling, ask her to sleep with her foot elevated. (ask her to keep it on a pillow). There is very little swelling.
Because she is such an active person, this is playing on her mind as she hates being down.

Tuesday morning 7:26
Yesterday remained the same for most of the same. I went to bed feeling tired and woke up with my energy level improved from 6 to 7.5 out of 10. My cecum valve & back pain is at about 60% of when we first started still. Still congested and bloated. Nothing new to report at this time.
My wife, she started to feel better last night and work up with further improvement. The pain in her ankle has improved by about 60%. Her ankle and below her foot is still tight, the tightness is going up to here calf area. She is starting to feel pleased about her progress.

Hi Merisel,
I am happy that both of you are doing well.
Please ask your wife to continue with the medicine today, and if possible , please post about her condition tonight or tommorrow morning. We shall decide the further course of action after that.
No more medicine for you. Just continue Water therepy , and keep posting...

Yesterday after eating lunch I felt very bloated and tight in the stomach area so much that I did not feel hungry at suppertime so I only ate very little for supper. I had a very good sleep and I woke up with a bit less energy than yesterday so I have fallen back to about a 6 out of 10.
The pain in my cecum valve and back area has gone up to about 70% of when I first started to post and I am very bloated. I feel very uncomfortable from the pain. I find myself bending from side to side in an attempt to stretch out my back.
My wife: she said that the pain is completely gone but the tightness is on the inside of her ankle area. She finds it tighter than yesterday. She said, thank you for all your help and looks forward to the next steps to relieve the tightness.

Hi Merisel,
Take Nux Vomica 200 for three consecutive nights starting from tonight. Take 5-6 pills and do not eat/ drink anything atleast half an hour before/ after taking the medicine. Make sure you take the pills on clean tongue. Avoid spicy food and late night woking.
About your wife: Good that there is no more pain. About the tightness , I want some more information:
1. Yesterday, she complained that the "tightness in going up to her calf" ( your yesterday's post). Now what is the exact location? Is the tightness restricted only to ankle?
2. What makes this better? Walking? rest? warm application? cold application?
3. Earlier she had tremendous pain on walking. now what is the present situation? Can she walk and bend her toes without pain?
Please answer these questions so that we can plan further course of action.

My wife is 95% better all around.
I did not get an opportunity to take my remedy last night as I was with one of our close friends; she lost her husband in a car crash last night. We are all in disbelief at this point. Everything else seems to be on hold.

I am back.Very sorry to hear about your friend's misfortune.
Take your own time.We will wait to hear from you.
Ignatia 200 one dose daily for a few days will help your friend to come to terms with the greif. You can mix 4 to 5 pellets mixed in water, and you don't have to inform her, about the medicine.
